I was afraid of catching an STD just from sleeping there

This place is a dump.

DO Not Stay Here!!! Mistake #1 of my trip with my girlfriends- staying at the Econo Lodge in SLC. First room- blood stains on bottom mattress, leaking bathroom- should have run at that point but no I just asked for a different room. Boogers on the bathroom wall, tv doesn’t work, duct tape pieces of floor, bathroom appeared clean unless I looked closer and could see toothpaste on the sink. Realized I forgot my phone charger- had to walk the gauntlet through homeless, mentally ill, very drugged people. No one asked for money, one guy said he liked my shoes, another said Hi sweetie-SLC has polite homeless I guess. Walking back to sh…thole motel. Screeching brakes as a huge black track hits a lady on a bicycle in front of me. She didn’t move, I thought she must be dead, but she gets up and hobbles down the street while I’m calling 911, they put me on hold??? Made it back to my room. Double locked door. Bed is comfortable and sheets are clean- but that will be the only good thing I say here. Man screaming obscenities outside- harmless and mentally ill- just hoping for a little sleep, moving to a different hotel tomorrow. Worst hotel ever!!! Had to give $100 cash deposit which the lady with no teeth checked my room the next day to make sure I hadn’t stolen anything??? Sure I was going to get mugged but yay, 2 police cars in the parking lot….

$100 cash deposit required at check in to ensure I wasn’t using a stolen credit card. TV had no cable connection to power. In room coffee, but no coffee maker. Room condition was very beat up. Hole punched in bathroom door. Area covered in homeless people. Many were temporary residents at hotel. Staff unresponsive to these blatant problems. Worst property I’ve ever stayed at!!

The neighborhood that it was in was really pretty. However, the property by itself looks really dingy and I wouldn't walk out there by myself. I didn't like that I had to pay of $100 security deposit in cash and had to go to 7-Eleven three blocks away to get cash from the atm. They had an ATM in their lobby but the lobby was closed. I understand that it's downtown Salt lake and they have a lot of creepy people there that come to their motel but still, it was inconvenient.

When checking in, the lobby was locked and there was only a window to check in which was mostly covered so i could not see the staff members face. Instead of welcoming me and letting me know what was needed, it felt like he was demanding that i give him my ID and one hundred dollar cash deposit. I later see that the fee is listed at the very bottom of the ad, but this staff did not make me feel comfortable giving him cash. There were no managers available. Eventually i was refused my reservation and had to find another place. Even when orbitz called several times time find out what happened, they could not get to a manager or get the manager to call me back. I finally got my refund from orbitz. I will highly recommend orbitz, but the staff at this econolodge need some basic customer service skills and the hotel needs to have a more welcoming feel, rather than operating like a shady business.

I had a confirmed, paid, reservation for this hotel through Orbitz, but when I got there, the front desk told me they had no rooms available. I was able to get my money back through Orbitz. Also, the parking lot and check in area was one of the sketchiest I’ve ever seen.

It says check in at 3p but we had to stand in a line of 15 people until 3:30 before they started checking people in. They do not tell you in advance that the $100 deposit must be in cash. Several people were turned away because they couldn't put the deposit on a card. The room door had been kicked in and sloppily repaired. The furniture was busted. The toilet was not bolted down and rocked back and forth when you sat down. The sink was cracked, stained and had burn marks on it. Light bulbs were missing from plugged in lamps. Staff was extremely rude. They DO NOT offer a airport shuttle even though they advertise it.

Room was dirty some of receptionist are so mean and aggressive not friendly at all

This is the absolute worst place I’ve ever stayed! The whole five minutes I stayed there was overwhelming tragic! It reminded me of a trap house with all of the sketchy activity/people who look like life chewed them up and spit them out, including the jerk who checked me in. There was blood on the door and walls of bathroom as well as broken glass on bathroom floor. There were burn holes in bedding. It was disgustingly unclean! And let’s not get started on the terrible smell!! I couldn’t help but wonder how many people died there! DONT STAY THERE!!!!

Gross. I’ve stayed at ones like this before and they were ok. But this was just disgusting. There were dead roaches, hair in the bathtub and bathroom floor, the smoke detector was taped to the ceiling, I couldn’t get the cold water to work in the bathtub, it didn’t plug, cobwebs, the bolt lock was broken, holes in the door.

This is not a real motel. It's a place of horror! It's a scam. It's a run down building with most of the rooms destroyed inside crawling with bed bugs and other insects, as well as blood stains all over. We ran away from it as soon as we saw it. The scammers still did not refund our money, even though we obviously didn't stay there. Had to dispute through credit card.

How is this place even in business? Most disgusting place that I have ever been in. Parking lot full of crackheads.

We travel quite a bit for work and this place was pretty surprising. We walked into our room and the floors were sticky full of soda that someone has dropped. There was also some candy and some half eating lollipops laying on the ground it seemed as if someone had come in I just made the beds but never sleep sweet there mopped the floors. The bathroom alsoappeared To be and cleaned. As I laid on the bed on three different occasions I had cockroaches crawling on the bed and on my body. When I pullEd back the sheets I saw other cockroaches between the sheets. I have to say I’ve never seen such a thing in a hotel. There is no breakfast of any kind including no coffee in the morning. Even though it says so in the description.

I checked in to the motel after 8 hours of driving. After about an hour I got up from bed and found a cockroach in bed with me. I went to the office to check out and get my money back and the clerk offered me another room. I’m sorry but if one room has cockroaches, they are all infested. I contacted the manager the following day and have to hear from her. Very disgusted by this motel and it’s customer service.

Breakfast are was too small. Being remodelled. It was awkward with no TV.

They were extremely friendly and helpful and seemed genuninely concerned for my comfort
