Simple and well located smaller hotel. Short walk to all sites in town. Would have been expensive if somewhere else but reasonable for Rothenburg. Breakfast pretty worthwhile but costs extra. One of the few places where you can get several cups of brewed coffee as part of the deal. No hotel wifi, can get the free town wifi but it is pretty unreliable.
I did book a room, but the room was not available. The person behind the desk was not nice. Also TERRIBLE. Don't ever go there. The place looked bad. We were glad we id go to another hotel, Das Brauhaus.
lovely. Breakfast was more than adequate, I did manage to gain access to the internet and was able to show the young lady serving breakfast the confirmation email stating that breakfast was included in the price as I had stated previously. She contacted the owner and after a couple of phone calls, I was reimbursed. The hotel is ideally situated in the medieval town, which is so picturesque.
We stayed at "Am Siebersturm" on Feb. 11 and just for 1 night. The staff was very nice, he even called me when we arrived the train station and asked if we need direction to the hostel. And he was friendly and recommended where the good sight seeing point is.
We checked into an apartment inside the main street at around 4pm so this review is not for the hotel but for its restaurant. An hour later, we walked around the Old Town but nothing was open. Decided to walk out past the gate and found this little hotel, I peeped in and a guy said "yes, we are open!". Food was excellent, service was great and we enjoyed our Christmas dinner at this little place, very nice!
Great location, but street front rooms can be noisy. We were there in November, so very quiet with quite a few hotels and restaurants closed. Rooms available with balcony and beautiful valley views. Room is a good size, but bathroom is small. I thought this property is value for money and will stay there again.
Welcoming staff, family run hotel, confortable room, parking available near by at extra cost, super breakfast. Walking distance of everything. No elavator. Friendly atmosphere. Free WiFi but not secure.
Location was great. Great views of the town. Very close to the town square and the wall. Easy access to places outside of the wall. Everything within walking distance no car needed. If you do have a car there is a small daily fee to park the car close by. ❗️❗️❗️Front desk staff is horrible!!! Hospitality sucks. My husband got sick the first day we arrived and there was no one for us to communicate with after hours. It doesn't seem to be an official time that the front desk staff leave the property. The next day I was informed that guest can call the hotel number from their phone and someone will answer. Keep this in mind if you need help. Overall, the staff need to improve on their hospitality skills. We traveled throughout many parts of Germany during our visit and everyone was extremely helpful and friendly however, I did not find this to be so at this hotel. On our last day, our kids wanted to go to the nearby pool one last time. I asked the front desk guy if we can use the towels (as we had been for our entire stay) and return them in an hour. After a flat out no you cannot use our towels, he offered them to us if we left a €60 deposit. Very very disappointing departure especially after a shaky start.
This is a very nice hotel, near one of the gates of the city and a few meters away from the most famous spot for photographs. The staff were very nice and helpful, although not all of them speak english. I highly recommend it!!!!!
The location is perfect- inside the old city but just far enough off the main platz that noise and foot traffic aren't bothersome. Still an easy walk to all the sights (Rothenburg just isn't that big!). Easy to walk back to the room for dropping off purchases or changing clothes as needed during the day. The staff is friendly and the breakfast selection is large and delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable, though basic. The rooms and stairwells are quite small, but that is to be expected in such old buildings. If your suitcase is large or heavy, it might be best to bring a smaller bag to carry what you need up to your room rather than trying to carry a monster roller bag up the stairs (ask me how I know...). The only downside to our visit was that the internet went out in the middle of the evening, but as we still got cell reception, it wasn't a big deal. Still, an excellent value in a great location, would stay there again.
