We stayed at "Am Siebersturm" on Feb. 11 and just for 1 night. The staff was very nice, he even called me when we arrived the train station and asked if we need direction to the hostel. And he was friendly and recommended where the good sight seeing point is.
We checked into an apartment inside the main street at around 4pm so this review is not for the hotel but for its restaurant. An hour later, we walked around the Old Town but nothing was open. Decided to walk out past the gate and found this little hotel, I peeped in and a guy said "yes, we are open!". Food was excellent, service was great and we enjoyed our Christmas dinner at this little place, very nice!
Great location, but street front rooms can be noisy. We were there in November, so very quiet with quite a few hotels and restaurants closed. Rooms available with balcony and beautiful valley views. Room is a good size, but bathroom is small. I thought this property is value for money and will stay there again.
Welcoming staff, family run hotel, confortable room, parking available near by at extra cost, super breakfast. Walking distance of everything. No elavator. Friendly atmosphere. Free WiFi but not secure.
Location was great. Great views of the town. Very close to the town square and the wall. Easy access to places outside of the wall. Everything within walking distance no car needed. If you do have a car there is a small daily fee to park the car close by. ❗️❗️❗️Front desk staff is horrible!!! Hospitality sucks. My husband got sick the first day we arrived and there was no one for us to communicate with after hours. It doesn't seem to be an official time that the front desk staff leave the property. The next day I was informed that guest can call the hotel number from their phone and someone will answer. Keep this in mind if you need help. Overall, the staff need to improve on their hospitality skills. We traveled throughout many parts of Germany during our visit and everyone was extremely helpful and friendly however, I did not find this to be so at this hotel. On our last day, our kids wanted to go to the nearby pool one last time. I asked the front desk guy if we can use the towels (as we had been for our entire stay) and return them in an hour. After a flat out no you cannot use our towels, he offered them to us if we left a €60 deposit. Very very disappointing departure especially after a shaky start.
This is a very nice hotel, near one of the gates of the city and a few meters away from the most famous spot for photographs. The staff were very nice and helpful, although not all of them speak english. I highly recommend it!!!!!
The location is perfect- inside the old city but just far enough off the main platz that noise and foot traffic aren't bothersome. Still an easy walk to all the sights (Rothenburg just isn't that big!). Easy to walk back to the room for dropping off purchases or changing clothes as needed during the day. The staff is friendly and the breakfast selection is large and delicious. Our room was clean and comfortable, though basic. The rooms and stairwells are quite small, but that is to be expected in such old buildings. If your suitcase is large or heavy, it might be best to bring a smaller bag to carry what you need up to your room rather than trying to carry a monster roller bag up the stairs (ask me how I know...). The only downside to our visit was that the internet went out in the middle of the evening, but as we still got cell reception, it wasn't a big deal. Still, an excellent value in a great location, would stay there again.
Bad experience. Terrible attendance. We were the only guests at the hotel still put us on the top floor. Detail, THERE IS NO LIFT. The bathroom is tiny, like an egg. The rooms do not correspond to those shown in the hotel photos. See the attached pictures. See also the bad cleaning the bathroom (zoom picture and check it out how it was when we arrived). The room was not any better. The photos shown on search sites do not show the reality. I used a wide angle lens for all picture. The owner seems that was born at the time of city building and continues, till today, with the same "education".
We arrived at 7pm and called for directions to hotel. The owner had already left the hotel and was in his car going home. He told us that check in was closed at 6:30 and said if we paid him 80 euros he'd come back and let us in. He was extremely rude and complained that he gets little $ from online reservations and doesn't get it for 2 months. He hung up on us. We called back-his response was the same only more rude. So, no rooms for us. We did not know that at 6:30 checkin closed and did not see it on trip advisor or getaroom.com(the site trip advisor used to book the rooms.) I complained to both getaroom and tripadvisor. Neither one took responsibility-no money back.
Average hotel for quite cheap price. The room was very small and, for people that don't like carpet, need to pay attention because mostly of the room have carpets. The pictures of the rooms on the website are better than the reality. But nothing has actually bothered us during our stay.
