Old world charm.

Very charming and great location. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Within walking distance of Vatican, piazza navona, pantheon etc.

The location is amazing and we were so close to everything especially the Vatican City. The check in was good and the staff here have been excellent in answering our questions and helping us book our taxi and standing with us to ensure its arrival back to the airport. The room is either on pavement level or just below. There are no plugs for the bath or sink so we had to plug both with a plastic cup provided. It does need re grouting! The air con is a blessing and many blankets are in the wardrobe. The bed is firm but comfortable. The cupboard door next to the bed did try to fall out and handles for the top drawer on a chest came out. The room is dark but overall did smell of damp. If you know you’ll be out a lot then as I said the location is great and this is a hotel that you will remember. As I said I couldn’t fault the staff and how nice and friendly they were

Upon arrival the unit they provided smelt like mold. They moved us to another room it also smelt of mold but not as much. The check in person that he would follow up in the morning for another move but nothing. The place is small and we were on street side. The curtains are thin and one nigh someone knock on the window from the street. Very scary. The breakfast option was a joke. I went to make a tea one night and the next night someone unplugged the unit. They must have been upset. The following night I tried again and they shut off the water. All for making a tea. Terrible place.

Vincenzo who I communicated with prior to arrival was quick to respond and friendly. We enjoyed seeing him in the afternoons and really enjoyed his recommendations. Vera who was at the hotel early every morning and throughout the day was a delight. We felt like we were old friends of hers before the end of our stay. Small hotel, clean rooms, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was standard. Would recommend. 2 blocks from hop on hop off us stop and 2 blocks from local taxis and busses

Small family run hotel right in the heart of Rome virtually everything was a maximum 20minute walk away. Breakfast was a traditional Italian breakfast (pastries, coffee and cereal, not very fancy). Airconditioning worked (very important). Only thing I disliked was wifi connectivity, extremely patchy. In this day and age internet connection is very important thus the loss of 1 star.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. We could not have felt less-welcome at this hotel. When our flight via London was delayed, we received a phone call from the hotel informing us that if we weren’t at the hotel by 21:00 we could not enter. Period. What kind of hotel does that!? After repeatedly telling me there was no solution, he suddenly admitted that a code could be emailed to unlock the gate. Voila. On check-out morning, during a 10:15am coffee. the housekeeper marched in to bluntly and rudely tell us: breakfast ended at 10, we had to get out of the hotel by 11, and she had a lot of work! It was simply unprofessional, inhospitable, and rude service. We are mature and seasoned travelers and have never experienced this level of rude service anywhere. The property is old-school. Walls alls are covered in fabric and the furniture is a mix of antique European styles. The bed was solid and comfortable. Everything worked in the bathroom, although it should be noted that the shower was tiny—one could not reach the floor if the soap was dropped. Our room faced the street, situated at half-basement level. With curtains open pedestrians were right there. Literally. The location was excellent—walking distance to all of central Rome. The price felt like a gouge for what it was, but that’s the new shoulder-season Europe. Based on the rudeness of the staff we would never stay again nor recommend. Zero feeling of hospitality; more like we were in their way.

The staff here are really lovely people. Always around to talk and answer questions. The area is amazing, so close to everything you want to see. I hate to say anything negative because we had such a nice time, but the bed was too hard for me.
