Hotel Pace Helvezia is a beautiful hotel located in the most convenient part of historic Rome within easy walking distance to all the major attractions. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a very well spoken front desk clerk who processed our check-in with ease and efficiency. He provided us with a real city street map, not a tourist ad map, and proceeded to show us bearings on the map. We received a room on the 6th (top) floor which was accessed via a cozy elevator suitable for two people and luggage. As we entered our room with a traditional key, we were pleased by the cleanliness and lack of any smells. The room was a very comfortable size with a medium size spotless bathroom, which always provided us with hot water and ample pressure for showering. The main room had a king size bed, a large armoire with an electronic personal safe bolted in, a luggage rack and a writing desk with a bar fridge, coffee maker and chair. French doors opened to a magnificent private balcony decorated with live fruit trees, small statues and a patio table and chairs where no review could possibly describe the stunning views to be had. Our room provided a perfect sunset view on the back side of the hotel. The included breakfast was available in a large dining room with an additional dining room available if the need arose for more seating. The buffet was well stocked with an assortment of meats, cheeses, fruits, breads, juice, teas, yogurt and pastries. Table service was provided for coffee and tea by attentive wait staff. The roof top terrace available to all guests was a two level design with several tables and chairs. Again, the views of Rome from this hotel are outstanding and are available to all guests, not just from the top floors. Walking from the hotel to any of the main attractions was simple, taxi service was available by just asking the front desk and public transit stops were just down the street. Trevi Fountain was within a 10 minute leisurely walk north on one street with the Pantheon just 5 minutes more, while the Colosseum was within a 15 minute leisurely walk south east. Any questions we had during our stay to hotel staff were answered quickly and knowledgeably with helpful tips to make our sight seeing enjoyable. Check out was simple. Overall our stay at Hotel Pace Helvezia was extremely enjoyable and I would absolutely recommend staying here to my Family and closest friends.
I have seen people picking fault with this hotel, yes it's a little tired BUT if you having a short break in Rome then you will not be in your hotel for hours on end. This hotel is practical, clean and bang in the middle of everything, which your legs and feet will be very grateful for. From the terrace you can easily see St. Peter's, collaseum etc fantastic view. Staff were friendly, double room was a great size especially for a city. Great value for money for the location.
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights whilst in Rome. Could not ask for anything more. Lovely staff ( especially the guy on reception in the early part of the day with the moustache ) extremely helpful and friendly. Clean rooms, great continental breakfast etc. Best of all was the location. Literally a 5-10 min walk to most of the major attractions like Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Vittorio and more. Lots of restaurants, supermarkets and shops in close proximity. Visitor centre opposite too. Would definitely recommend.
Excellent location in the city center which is within walking distance from all of rome's major attractions, the team were extremely friendly and offered advice on travel and locations to visit. the breakfast was good, and the price is affordably.
This hotel is ideal for a visit to Rome. The location is great and you can walk to a lot of the attractions from here, such as the Trevi Fountain and the Colosseum. It meant that we had some great sightseeing without even trying as we went about our day. So good to be able to go to a restaurant and walk passed the Colosseum and other great sights at night on the way home. There are a lot of restaurants and coffee shops near by. We planned in advance and did our own walking tours. Lots of nice shops near here too. The hotel staff were so helpful and pleasant with directions/taxis etc. The rooms were quite spacious and had tea/coffee facilities. Wi fi was available throughout the hotel at no charge. The continental style breakfast was good with a good choice of savoury and sweet. Cappuccino was also available. We didn't eat at the hotel other than breakfast but the dining room looked lovely and was busy so I assume the food was good... The rooftop terrace was a bit of a hidden gem, the views were awesome and we sat in the sun for a few hours one afternoon resting our feet. There were just us and one other couple who were enjoying a bottle of wine. It's small but well worth a visit. We were a mixed group of 8 family and friends aged from 30 - 60 and we all agreed we would use this hotel again on future visits.
We have enjoyed the location and that's it. The breakfast was disent, the room was too small for 3 adults (although we paid full price), the bathroom was poor, not very clean, louad noise from the street. I suggest choosing different hotel in the same location.
Other than a great location, this hotel had nothing to offer. Poor service, poor breakfast, uncomfortable rooms and a loud street noise which doesn't allow a good night sleep. If you do end up in this hotel, make sure your room doesn't face the street.
Terrible room, a small bathroom where the fan roaring . CITY TAXS 18:00 euro, garage 500 meters you have to leave the key. rate garage 40.00 euros per night. Breakfast in a small room where there is no place for all, food is so so. Internet disaster. Internet katastrofa.
Hotel as a small lobby, two very small elevators. One only to reach by stairs !? Breakfast standard. Bathroom was not clean there were soap-rests in shower. No quilt, but old-fashioned blanket. No place to put the luggage in our room (75). Location of the hotel is perfect.
This hotel is located very near to the Colosseum and Pantheon and the Forum Romanum. We stayed in a room in the front of the hotel :we suffered from noice disturbance and slept in five nights only 10 hours. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, the blankets old. The shower gave three rays, ( limescale) the shower cabin collapsed during use of the shower, there was hardly light in the bathroom. The Wifi did not work properly and we bought dongles, but this also did not solve the problems. Except in the reception we did not face any personal touch.
