The hotel is very good for Rome. It has a roof terrace with a wonderful view over Rome. It is located in the city centre and you have walking distance to all the important places such as the Pantheon, the Spanish steps ore the Colosseum. The breakfast is very good for Italian standards and the staff is friendly. The rooms are somewhat old fashioned but they had been partly renovated since we were last there three years ago.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is of course excellent for major attractions. the hotel is traditional Italian and that is what we preferred. Lovely terrace upstairs and great to be able to take a bottle of something up there to relax and enjoy a brilliant view of Rome. We were in a room at the front noisy from traffic but with windows closed we got a very good nights sleep. The air con is was thankfully very good considering the heat in August this year. Tourist office directly opposite, and restaurants a short walk away. This hotel catered for all our needs.
I would give this hotel 110% for the Central Location. Great roof terrace, large room and good bathroom. However unfortunately these are the only good comments I can make. Told there was a bar, even by the member of staff when we arrived - never open. Then told by another that they didn't have a bar? Coffee and tea facilities were only replenished in the room when we asked for them- otherwise they were forgotten. Bathroom tissues were not replenished. Reception staff were not overly friendly and certainly not welcoming, apart from the cleaner who always had a greeting for you. Likely to return to Rome but unfortunately not this hotel. Very disappointed.
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Pace Helvezia for the period 19-26/7/2017. Staying at this hotel was a unique and unforgettable experience! We booked our accommodation from the website of the hotel. Booking, check-in and check-out were really hassle-free. At booking time we asked for a room on the 4th floor or higher up, at the back of the hotel, in order to avoid the noise of the very busy main street at the front of the hotel. Our request was kindly fulfilled by the hotel reservations staff, who gave us room 94 on the 5th floor, on the rear, south-west corner of the building. Room 94 was a corner room with a corner balcony that provided a magnificent view, especially at night time: Il Vittoriano monument was in direct line of sight, as were the domes of some other churches. The room was really very spacious, in excellent decorative order, was clean and fully equipped – individually controlled air conditioning, minibar, hairdryer, bathroom toiletries, shoe polishing stuff, TV, safe box, coffee making facilities, all were there. Also, all the equipment in the room was in perfect functional order. The room sound insulation was good and the furniture sturdy and comfortable; the bed mattress was excellent, being conducive to a really restful night's sleep. Room service was very good. The bathroom was spacious and fully equipped – we even had a bidet with its own separate towels. There was a free and very effective Wi-Fi service at all times, at all parts of the hotel – an indispensable feature nowadays. For someone who wants to explore Rome, the hotel is strategically located right at the heart of the town: it is within walking distance of Piazza Venezia, there are bus stops approximately three hundred metres down the road, the Main Bus Terminal Station is about a ten-minute walk away and the famous Fontana Di Trevi can be reached on foot in ten minutes. Furthermore, Via Del Corso which is one of the main shopping streets, is only a ten-minute walk away. Moreover, there are lots of restaurants in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. Special thanks go to all the people of the reception who were very friendly at all times and always eager to help us out on any matter – advice on how to get connected to the Wi-Fi/ Internet, on places to visit, on which buses to catch, etc., etc. They were always patient with us and always showed understanding for the fact that we did not speak any Italian at all. Their professional attitude in carrying out their duties made our stay in Rome so much more enjoyable. A big "thank you" to them! Breakfast was very good: wide selection of stuff available, everything fresh and very tasty, and the dining room was very spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. However, given that this is a 4-star hotel, we expected to find fried eggs, bacon and sausages. The waitresses were very courteous and efficient. Finally, the hotel offers another big plus to its customers. There is a terrace above the 6th floor open to all, at all times, that provides a 360°-view of Rome: the Colosseum, Il Vittoriano monument, St. Peter’s Basilica, etc, are all in sight. There are plenty of seats (and tables) for customers to sit and enjoy the view. All-in all, we had a memorable experience at Hotel Pace Helvezia! Should we visit Rome again, this hotel will be our definite choice. We recommend it unreservedly.
Stayed for seven days and loved it! The hotel is beautiful with a friendly staff. They have a top balcony with a great view of Altare della Patria, and the hotel is close the lots of other tourist attractions. The area felt safe and you could walk around late. It also included a good breakfast to start of your day with.
A lot smaller than imagined, did not feel Like a 4 star more like a 3, had to ask twice for slippers and shower caps, the gent on reception I felt as I was an inconvience to him as he had to stop what he was doing, but the other gents were very helpful, roof terrace was lovely, breakfast not really impressed as had better in a 3 star, Room was lovely & clean had a balcony too, very noisy at night, and the air con didn't really make much difference in the day at all
Pace Helvezia is in an amazing spot in Rome! Right around the corner from the Forum and Trajan's Market, and Altare della Patria monument (Wedding Cake) A few blocks from the Colosseum, and in the other direction shops, restaurants, etc. Lovely rooftoop terrace to enjoy the view. Breakfast was good, with many options in a clean, nice dining room. The lobby was tired and needs new furniture. Our room was adequate, clean, comfortable with functioning air conditioning. It cost $40 EU to park the car two blocks away.
We chose the hotel mainly due to the location, very central to most of the sights you will want to see whilst in Rome. It was rated as a 4 star but we thought it felt more like a 3. The rooms were nice and the air conditioning was greatly appreciated as it was very hot during our stay and we did a lot of walking! The staff were pleasant but not exactly friendly. The breakfast was just adequate. So for location alone i would recommend it.
Well located hotel in the centre of Rome within walking distance of the majority of the attractions.Views of Rome from the rooftop terrace are recommended. The rooms were basic but met our needs, the only downside was that we couldn't find any non-Italian channels on the TV.Had free Wifi which although having to regularly sign on after losing connection was good. The buffet breakfast was nice and staff friendly.Main problem with the hotel is that due to it's central location there is constant traffic noise 24 hours a day.
This hotel is in a great location. Walking distance to many main attractions and not on a busy street. Good size and clean rooms. The staff is helpful. Good continental breakfast. We definitely can recommend this hotel.
