Hotel has the air conditioning system off and it was warm inside the room. Couldn't sleep well with the windows open, very noisy outside. Couldn't park in front or near the hotel to leave the luggage, street restricted to residents only. Not recommended for customers with rented cars.

This hotel is very nice. The ceilings, at least the room we were in, were like 20 feet high! It is very close to the opera house and walking distance to the train station. Lots to see and do. VIP gave us a sweet upgrade and a nice Italian treat to take home. We would definitely stay here again.

If internet or hot water is important to you, then don't stay here.

Nothing about this hotel was even okay! Terrible a waste of money!

Staff really friendly. Free printing. Walking distance to train station. Room is okay.

Close to the train station was a plus, but dark side street during the night time was a negative. The layout of the hotel makes no sense for knowing which floor your room is on. The shower doors were awkward, and the shower floor would flood after 2 minutes. The staff was very friendly, but my main concerns in a hotel are a comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Both of these did not meet my expectations. After traveling throughout Europe for 3 weeks, I did not want my stay in Rome to be a disappointment. I ended up booking a new hotel on my first night there. Although not the best decision financially, I ended up loving my second hotel, and wouldn't have done anything different in that scenario.

Great hotel. Staff was very friendly. Located in good proximity to all major attractions. Definitely will recommend.

What sets the Rex hotel apart from many others is the personable staff. Every single staff member we encountered at the Rex made us feel at home and comfortable. After the 2nd day it no longer felt like a hotel stay, given the Rex's cozy feel and friendly staff. Highly recommended!

This hotel is a basic accommodation for sleep during your trip in Rome. The location is great. The Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, 2 major shopping streets, the zoo, and the Pantheon can be reached by walking 20-25 minutes. If you are able to walk, you can bypass trains and taxis for most of your trip. You are 5 minutes from the termini which is really convenient. The basic room is like a bedroom in a city apartment. The "double" bed is a glorified full size bed so it can be tight for 2 adults. Don't expect to want to stay and relax in this room. The breakfast was relatively good with a variety of a more European cuisine. The staff was great and the room was clean albeit in need of some updating. It is perfect for a first trip to Rome since you will be more concerned with what's outside than inside.

Completely enjoyable hotel, but if you're expecting a large, updated, American-style hotel, this isn't it. Super location, outstanding staff( Francesca!!), Italian charm-all make for worry-free stay.

There's no ice machine and the restaurant rejected tp give ice. How is that possible for a Hotel claims 4 star rating?

Whilst the location is great and the staff allover were always very helpful , pleasant and smiling the stay was not pleasant at all . The air condition did not work and could not be fixed , ( July in Rome .....!!! ) The rooms and public areas are extremely dirty and not well maintained . The breakfast service and food disgusting. We stayed from July 30.2014 till August 04. We both are Hotel executives in a 5 Star Hotel , very well travelled but we do not have high expectations. We were there on leisure and therefore just came to the Hotel to sleep. The online pictures are sending the wrong message about the property.

From receptionist to room cleaning everything was very good. However there's no ice machine in the hotel and I needed to ask the ice from the idle restaurant of the hotel with few tables. They claimed that their ice machine was broken in a pretty defensive mode. Even if it's true I couldn't imagine how a restaurant could be operated without ice.

it was a good experience for what we needed. Only there a couple of days, adn did not spend much time at the hotel. Staff was great.

Very pleasant atmosphere, extremely helpful and friendly staff, perfect location 5 min walk from Roma Termini station and 15-20 min walk from Colosseum, Spanish steps, Trevi fountain etc. Tiny room though!

Small but nice room accommodations Staff were all very friendly and helpful Included breakfast was decent Location close enough but far enough away from Termini Station was perfect

Great people, great location, superior breakfast. I was scheduled to stay for 5 nites, stayed for over 3 weeks. One of my goals in Rome was to learn more Italian so when the staff spoke to me in English I asked them to repeat in Italian. After I moved out of hotel, I continued to stop by to visit and they allowed me to use their internet (no charge) and phone at minimal charge. Definitely highly recommended.

The staff made us feel as if we were the only customers and payed great attention to making our stay as pleasant as possible.

We were able to walk with our wheeled luggage the few blocks from the railway station, Stazione Termini. The receptionists spoke very good English. We were provided with multiple restaurant recommendations within walking distance. Breakfast was excellent with Italian espresso coffee on request at no extra charge. While the room was clean, the carpet was very dated and the bathroom was a bit lacking in adequate light. Also, reading lights were abysmal. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay here. We walked a lot but also used the Metro and busses to get around. The staff was helpful at suggesting transportation options other than taxis.

I recommend this hotel to everyone. The people were lovely.
