The room was very large and light, there was a good size bathroom , also a fridge in the room, everything was at your fingertips, but as for the service it was almost non existent, and the breakfast was very ordinary.
My second stay, the first was over a year ago. I like this hotel very much and had a second stay. My first visit was comfortable. I not sure about all the mattresses in this hotel but the one in my room was extremely firm. It was so hard, I removed the bedding from the other bed and used it for padding. Other than that problem, my stay was pleasant.
Always used this hotel for business for the last 3 years, but the service has gone from very good to bad! The breakfast was great before and now average at best! But location of hotel is great and rooms are good.
Old City Boutique is a really comfortable hotel with a great location. We had a standard room and a junior suit room, which is a bit larger, and both were great. The rooms were perfectly clean, furniture in perfect condition. The rooms looked modern and updated. Heated floors in the bathroom were a nice surprise. Surprisingly, I did have some issues with Internet connection. They have many networks you could connect to and for me they often disconnected, so I would need to connect to some other network, which would also stay connected for only so long. I am not sure why this happened but I also had no time to figure out since I was so busy with other things. Having said that, some type of connection was always there. Also their breakfast is very rich and has lots of vegan and non-vegan options. If you are vegan, you definitely won't stay hungry here, which was also a nice surprise.
Stayed for 2 nights with the goal to eat and drink well, do some shopping and see the sights. The hotel is perfectly situated in the old town just next to the opera house and a galleria. Restaurants are abundant. The hotel is clean, with quick, kind and efficient service. No possibility to make coffee in the room is the only minus. If you can go there!
I have stayed here twice! It is very cosy and lovely hotel at the perfect location for a stay in the heart of Riga Old City. Shops, restaurants and Old City attraction places are just as soon as you step outside the hotel. Hotel itself has got very unique decor. Rooms we stayed were all clean and nice. Beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. I was impressed by reception staff on our first stay, were I was driven how professional and welcoming they were. No matter what are your requirements, they will accommodate you. They also provide great taxi transfers. When it came to our second stay here, it was even better. This hotel has got really lovely staff working there. We all felt comfortable, relaxed and enjoyed our stay at Old city Boutique Hotel.
Great staff, good beds, lovely interior design..especially the premium rooms and a really cosy hotel bar. Breakfast is ok. Great location in the old town, close to shops, bars and restaurants. Will definately be back again for a fifth stay!
Stayed at Old City Boutique for one night at end of August and one night at beginning of September. We were a party of five. Location is ideal for city centre attractions and both the bus and train station. We were visiting Vilnius by bus from Riga and found this hotel perfectly located. Near to restaurants and bars but also quiet. Greeted by friendly reception staff who helped print boarding passes, thank you. Rooms were fine for short stay as the twin rooms are a bit small. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Riga. Donald, Scotland
We were lucky enough to have an outward facing room which was spacious and comfortable. some of our group were in inward facing rooms and were not so happy. The bathroom was roomy and benefitted from very welcome underfloor heating although the cleaners were not to keen to replace used towels or toiletries. The bar was pleasant but our group felt it closed too early at the weekend. Breakfast was fine but we would have liked to have seen more variety.
We arrived from the airport on a very wet Saturday afternoon by taxi (about €11). We went into reception with baggage and paperwork placed on the reception desk and eventually the lady behind the desk asked if we wanted to check-in? Once checked in we went to our room on the ground floor. The room only had one window which was into a very small adjoining courtyard with a skylight to try to offer the room some natural light. A curtain had been cleverly fixed so no one could see in but allowed some daylight in. The room (105) was small with a wardrobe which had hangers and a couple of shelves to stack clothes. There was a desk, minibar, tv and a comfy standard sized bed. To access the far side of the bed you either crawled across the bed or squeezed through an 18 inch (45cms) gap between the pillar and the wall. There is a safe in the wardrobe but when we tried to set it up a message on the screen suggested the battery was flat. When we tried to get it sorted all they offered was to put our valuables in their safe. We carried them. The bathroom had a good walkin shower, hot and with good pressure with toiletries supplied. The bathroom is compact but has enough room to use the sink and toilet. There is a hair dryer! Breakfast was served in the basement where the hot food was at best luke warm but normally cold. There is the usual assortment of continental meats and cheeses with breads. There is a tea/coffee machine and watery fruit juices. If you like a good cup of tea in the morning take your own teabags. Cold milk is at the opposite end of the breakfast bar. Reception had a number of comfortable chairs and a bar which didn't stay open too late. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the station and the bus stop to the airport (number 22) which is a stopper and takes about half an hour. The big and it is big market is behind the station. The hotel is well located for all of the old town with bars and restaurants in close proximity. If you go to the waffle bar nearly opposite, the food is good but service is slow. If you want to do a river and canal trip go to the river and get a boat there. At the bridge between the rail bridge and the suspension bridge is where they moor and was €12 for an hour when we were there.
