We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel over the weekend. We actually did not book this hotel, and were moved here as our original hotel was over-booked. We were sceptical at first, but our fears were unfounded. The hotel was great. I am not sure what type of room we were in. It was room 307. Very quiet. Very modern. It had everything we needed; Mini-bar, safe, hair dryer, iron, air-con, free wifi. The bed was comfortable and the room was spotless. It was not a huge room, but we literally used it to sleep, shower and dress. Breakfast was basic, but fine. Location was fantastic. A 2 minute walk to the main squares and St Peters Church but situated in a quiet area so no noise from pubs/live music. Excellent. We will use this hotel if we ever go back to Riga.
Booked an economy room at this hotel and paid more than the fully booked premium rooms as the hotel is in high demand. Great location, right in the heart of the old town. Room was very dated, very noisy and had very few of the amenities of the refurbished rooms. The bed also was more hostel like than hotel. Would stay at the hotel again but only in a new room.
For a long weekend a well situated hotel. The staff at the front desk we very helpful. Requested directions by train to Jurmala the beach area and provided perfect details. Our room was quiet and very little noise. The room was clean/tidy no issues with room facilities. The breakfast area was in the basement but then only there for a short period. Breakfast was ok but nothing to rave about. Taxi from Airport to Hotel 15 Euro.
We upgraded the room and it was very nice. It was in a great central location in Old Town. The breakfast room got very busy so maybe worth asking staff when the best time in the morning would be to go for breakfast.
The first impression of the hotel is very nice, staff was helpfull and spoke English. Overall everything was ok and location was perfect (quiet but still close to everything). The hotel in overall and our room was very clean (including towels and bed sheets etc). On the down side the breakfast room was small and easily crowded, the staff was couldn't keep up with service and you had to wait for the food, coffee and clean cutlery, cups, plates... The earlier you went the better were the chances to have a nice start fort the morning. The building had a nice atmosphere but old building has it down sides, too: Every time someone in the rooms above us used the bathroom the water came down in the water pipes next to our bed very loudly. Bathroom sink leaked, toiled was not working properly. The pillows were very thin and bed sheets were made of weird material. Summarum: Would stay there again 👌
We spent a long weekend in this hotel that is situated in an old building on the edge of the old town. We had a quiet room facing the street on the third floor. The room was small but clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was tiny. The breakfast was poor. Coffee machine was out of order, cheese slices had dried, fried eggs resembled rubber, service was slow. We had a nice stay but will probably choose an anothet hotel next time.
Our hotel was excellent, the staff were so helpful.Riga is a wonderful place to visit. It is an old Medieval town, which was a very important port .It has examples of building from many past ages.We ate in a cellar restaurant which was built in the 1200's fabulous. Riga is a perfect city break,it has really good restaurants, interesting architecture, amazing views including sea views and delightful people
firstly, the images they use on the travel websites are either really old or of a different hotel. the rooms you see on there are all pleasant and light, ours was particularly stuffy and dark. the shower regularly flooded the bathroom despite using the shower curtain. included in the price was breakfast - if this is what convinces you to book a hotel don't book here. they had no coffee, no mugs, no plates, no cutlery and no juice. based on this experience we didn't try the restaurant on site. However, if you just want a place to sleep at night and will be out all day then this hotel is in an ideal location and worth the money, just be prepared to eat out all day.
Really good place to stay in Riga. Small, very close to everything and not expensive. Very good and gentle staff. Rooms and building is a combination of modern and retro. But together with all this impressions I am to mention some not good impressions. You'll see it on photos. In summary I loved the place and I think to stay there next time visiting Riga. Advise to everyone.
4 of us stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedrooms were very comfortable. The bar area was comfortable. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, There was a good choice at breakfast but wasn't very hot The hotel is perfect for visiting the old city and the new city. We didn't have a bath in our room only a shower A very enjoyable stay
