Wow! Fabulous hotel, beautifully decorated, lovely rooms with superb private pools. Food is excellent- huge variety every night. The staff are incredibly kind, helpful & friendly - can’t praise them enough! Lovely grounds with an abundance of flowers - just gorgeous.
Firstly a huge thank you to the executive chef for the lovely meals he has been preparing for me and to the wonderful Evi in guest relations who is an absolute Gem and extremely helpful. Thank you also to the fabulous entertainment team, Pavalina, Tanis and also all the restaurant staff and apologies if I have missed anyone out. 4 stars to the chef and the lovely Evi 4 stars to the fabulous entertainment team who occupied our time during the inclement weather 2 stars to the reception team 1 star for the beach and lack of facilities Now for the honest, factual and constructive review: 1. I emailed the hotel several times prior to our travels regarding my dietary requirements and each time they told me to sort it up on arrival. Sadly this lead to having to wait for the lovely Evi and eventually get a meal at 9pm on the day of arrival!! Not great service especially since we had been travelling since 7 am that morning. 2. Reception staff at check in failed to inform us that we could upgrade to all inclusive, this we discovered only by accident yesterday from another guest, too late for us but it is worth doing as it is 20 euro per person per day 3. They also failed to inform us the following: A: there is a charge of 15 Euro per person per day to use the wet area in the spa. We were told this is because the spa is not owned by the hotel, yet the beach towels you have to get from there. B: they forgot to inform us that the beach towels can only be collected from the spa which by the way is a good 10 minute walk from the beach C: beach towels can only be exchanged every 2 days! D: They forgot to inform us that the beech is currently under construction, please see photos attached. The photos they market on their website are not a true reflection of the current state of the beach. 4. On the first night we got back to our room after 10ish to find a bottle of wine (no corkscrew!) and a plate of fruit, all too late to enjoy. We thought we would have the fruit the following afternoon only to find housekeeping had taken it away when they cleaned the room! 5. We had an issue on day one with the toilet and this was finally fixed at 10.30 pm after several calls to reception 6. This reoccurred 2 days later and was fixed...however this went wrong again this morning, 3rd time in 4 days! 7. We informed reception that the clothes rail and curtains needed fixing and had to remind them again before these were fixed 8. Toilets are quiet a way from the beach 9. There is currently no bar at the beach and the poor waiter has to go all the way to the main pool bar to get the drinks 10. The stair well for the spa in my view has health and safety issues as there is no hand rail 11. The swimming pools are not heated and absolutely freezing this time of the year 12. We had a meal at the Greek Al Carte yesterday to celebrate my birthday and this was by far the worst meal we had...the restaurant lacks ambience, the chairs are hard and uncomfortable. No candles on the table either. We were expecting a traditional Greek meal not pasta and an extremely salty and inedible risotto! Even my husband said his pasta was below average. This put a dampener on my birthday celebrations and also there was no cake or candle at the end of the awful experience and meal to celebrate! 13. A birthday cake was delivered to our room minus the candle but sadly at 11pm at night it was far too late to enjoy! 14. They give you bottled water in your room for the coffee machine and also for drinking, yet they charge for this during meals! This just doesn’t make sense. 15. The rooms are lovely and comfortable however there is only one mirror and that is in front of the toilet door 16. The towels in the room are lovely, clean and soft 17. The pool villas are lovely to sit around 18. Despite all the above we did have a lovely and relaxed holiday. 19. If you are coming out in the next week or so I would suggest packing Some warm clothes as the evenings can be very cold as can the day time due to the cold northerly winds
had a lovely week staying here, staff were friendly and attentive, we had a room with pool and a suite with pool both were brilliant. Loved the location although you need a car to get out and about (easy to hire at the hotel). Food was perfect lots of choice and presentation was excellent. We will definitely return
Brilliant Place to stay with great staff and great food. The concept/design/Architecture of the place is spot on and the staff are so helpful and nice. just a few things to make good though (these are only observations and not criticisms).... 1. Boundaries need fencing properly 2. boundary flowers need the bar patches filling in and grassed areas need turfing. 3. gym/play area needs proper flooring and not churned mud 4. no full length mirror in rooms 5. needs later nightlife 6. beach area needs finishing you can see this work is taking place and when this is finished it will be amazing. Will definitely go again!!
modern architecture, great suites, nice and casual atmosphere, kids welcome. Great food. The stuff sometimes wasn’t very trained, but nice and polite. Great spa with signature massages, gym, turkish Hamman, etc. TV was nit working in the whole resort, later has been fixed.
God say to Adam and Eva: I will create an new paradise. Adam and Eva ( together ): Yes, and where sir? God: In Gennadi Greece Rhodos. So Adam and Eva looked overthere incognito and told God: Yo man, you did a fine job.... It's a second paradise that everyone can see and expirience. And thanks to Vassilas for the advice. Room 2008
If you are looking for high quality and discrete vacations, far away from noisy beaches and touristic crowds, this is your place in Rhodes. Situated on a splendid beach approximately 70 khm from Rhodes city, the hotel is idyllic, modern and very attractive. The food is really food of a 5 star hotel, delicious and pluralistic. Kind and very heplful personnel, great swimming pools and spacious, high quality standards and full - ecquiped rooms. You always have the feeling of privacy and that you will be treated well at all hotels places. There is a good gym and spa too. I will certainly recommend to rent a car. There is not regular public transportation system and there are plenty of beautiful sites, beaches and monuments to visit around the island.
We Ioved this resort, the beach is lovely, plenty of pools to choose from and the grounds are well kept. Water sports on offer are great too, I had a water skiing lesson, paddle boarded for an hour and hired the speed boat for an hour, all for 108 euros. The only thing letting it down is the food, it was very meat based and you do see the same foods night after night. They didn’t have chicken kebabs on any night which we found really strange for a Greek hotel so did venture out to tavernas to get the local experience. You can change from the main restaurant and book into one of the other 5 or 6 but you have to book with the reception early and be prepared to accept a table past 9pm. Overall a fabulous, relaxing holiday
We booked this hotel before it was fully open and were so relieved to get there and find such a stunning place. We were blown away with every element of our week long stay. The choice for AI is excellent. The service great too. Our fine tuning points would be: 1. That it needs to be made clear if you want the champagne (payable extra) that you need to give 24 hrs notice. We had planned to have a bottle on our final night so you can imagine the disappointment 2. No plug near the mirror, this made getting ready difficult as I could not easily straighten my hair 3. No iron in the room and when the iron and board arrived it took up valuable space in the room (they are a little small) These are fussy points but if the venue wants to be truly 5 star these things are a given and not something to compromise on.
We arrived in the early hours following a two hour flight delay yet the reception could not have been more welcoming. We were soon whisked off in a buggy to our room with a private pool. We could hear the sea crashing on the pebbles and on entry were thrilled to find our room decorated with rose petals and a beautiful double swan towel arrangement. But more importantly - a tray of sandwiches and a tray of fresh fruit. We needed that! This set the tone for a magical week where the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Everything we asked for - decaf coffee pods, extra towels and water etc were brought within minutes. And despite the end of season drawing near, staff met us with a broad smile, a Καλημέρα from everyone on our way to breakfast and a real pride in their hotel. It was a pleasure to see. Breakfast was buffet style but with 5 star touches. There was everything anyone could possibly want - from white egg omelettes freshly made, a variety of smoothies straight from the blender and even a cake collection. Red Velvet for breakfast anyone? For a real treat go for a 'Level 2' breakfast. This was our highlight. Service was impeccable, the food was beautifully presented and the view was stunning. We were made to feel very special. Our room (Room 3001) was very open plan. I know some have been negative about this but we thought it was great. We had an open reception room with settee and chair leading through to a super shower (sun shower and powerful shower wand). There were his and hers bowls next to the enclosed toilet and loads of space around a comfy double bed. You were provided with wine glasses, drinks glasses, medium cups, small Greek coffee cups, a nespresso coffee machine (thin pods) and a fridge stocked with soft drinks and water. Soft towels and pillows and fresh bedding every day. The maid service was discreet and efficient. They had a clever button you pressed, red for not ready for cleaning, blue for please clean and the light outside was white when done. No embarrassing cleaner barging in on you naked here! The private pool was wonderful although it shaded over in the afternoon. Check rooms because not all did. The sun beds were as comfy as the beds and it was so nice to be able to nip in and out of your room and take things to your own private pool. We spent the afternoons sightseeing or on the beach. Everywhere had seats and beds and parasols and there was never a need to fight for anything. Food and drink of the highest quality everywhere. You were spoilt for choice. My wife is in a wheelchair and what made this hotel magical for us was the excellent accessibility. Everywhere was accessible from the rooftop gardens and amphitheatre to the beach itself with decking right to the water's edge. Outside of the hotel Gennadi was a quiet, interesting village with some good places to eat (if not staying all inclusive) and a cheap supermarket. Friendly too. Rhodes Town is an hour plus drive away, Lindos 25 mins and our favourite for sunsets Monolithos Castle is a great drive away. Well done to everyone at the Gennadi Grand Resort. It sounds like a great first season and once everything grows up, this will be a paradise setting. We had a wonderful time and will return again.
