We Ioved this resort, the beach is lovely, plenty of pools to choose from and the grounds are well kept. Water sports on offer are great too, I had a water skiing lesson, paddle boarded for an hour and hired the speed boat for an hour, all for 108 euros. The only thing letting it down is the food, it was very meat based and you do see the same foods night after night. They didn’t have chicken kebabs on any night which we found really strange for a Greek hotel so did venture out to tavernas to get the local experience. You can change from the main restaurant and book into one of the other 5 or 6 but you have to book with the reception early and be prepared to accept a table past 9pm. Overall a fabulous, relaxing holiday
We booked this hotel before it was fully open and were so relieved to get there and find such a stunning place. We were blown away with every element of our week long stay. The choice for AI is excellent. The service great too. Our fine tuning points would be: 1. That it needs to be made clear if you want the champagne (payable extra) that you need to give 24 hrs notice. We had planned to have a bottle on our final night so you can imagine the disappointment 2. No plug near the mirror, this made getting ready difficult as I could not easily straighten my hair 3. No iron in the room and when the iron and board arrived it took up valuable space in the room (they are a little small) These are fussy points but if the venue wants to be truly 5 star these things are a given and not something to compromise on.
We arrived in the early hours following a two hour flight delay yet the reception could not have been more welcoming. We were soon whisked off in a buggy to our room with a private pool. We could hear the sea crashing on the pebbles and on entry were thrilled to find our room decorated with rose petals and a beautiful double swan towel arrangement. But more importantly - a tray of sandwiches and a tray of fresh fruit. We needed that! This set the tone for a magical week where the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Everything we asked for - decaf coffee pods, extra towels and water etc were brought within minutes. And despite the end of season drawing near, staff met us with a broad smile, a Καλημέρα from everyone on our way to breakfast and a real pride in their hotel. It was a pleasure to see. Breakfast was buffet style but with 5 star touches. There was everything anyone could possibly want - from white egg omelettes freshly made, a variety of smoothies straight from the blender and even a cake collection. Red Velvet for breakfast anyone? For a real treat go for a 'Level 2' breakfast. This was our highlight. Service was impeccable, the food was beautifully presented and the view was stunning. We were made to feel very special. Our room (Room 3001) was very open plan. I know some have been negative about this but we thought it was great. We had an open reception room with settee and chair leading through to a super shower (sun shower and powerful shower wand). There were his and hers bowls next to the enclosed toilet and loads of space around a comfy double bed. You were provided with wine glasses, drinks glasses, medium cups, small Greek coffee cups, a nespresso coffee machine (thin pods) and a fridge stocked with soft drinks and water. Soft towels and pillows and fresh bedding every day. The maid service was discreet and efficient. They had a clever button you pressed, red for not ready for cleaning, blue for please clean and the light outside was white when done. No embarrassing cleaner barging in on you naked here! The private pool was wonderful although it shaded over in the afternoon. Check rooms because not all did. The sun beds were as comfy as the beds and it was so nice to be able to nip in and out of your room and take things to your own private pool. We spent the afternoons sightseeing or on the beach. Everywhere had seats and beds and parasols and there was never a need to fight for anything. Food and drink of the highest quality everywhere. You were spoilt for choice. My wife is in a wheelchair and what made this hotel magical for us was the excellent accessibility. Everywhere was accessible from the rooftop gardens and amphitheatre to the beach itself with decking right to the water's edge. Outside of the hotel Gennadi was a quiet, interesting village with some good places to eat (if not staying all inclusive) and a cheap supermarket. Friendly too. Rhodes Town is an hour plus drive away, Lindos 25 mins and our favourite for sunsets Monolithos Castle is a great drive away. Well done to everyone at the Gennadi Grand Resort. It sounds like a great first season and once everything grows up, this will be a paradise setting. We had a wonderful time and will return again.
We stayed for 10 days in October and from the very beginning of our holiday, the experience at reception was fantastic, we had the privilege to meet Anthoula & Nikolas and they both made us feel very welcome, the cold drink was very much appreciated after a long transfer from the airport and it was great to get our first view of the resort as we were taken to our private pool room by buggy. The whole 10 days was excellent, the staff are such a credit to the hotel, each person that we came into contact with was a pleasure, here are a few names, but if we do not mention you pleased rest assured that you were still great:- Sokratis Jenny Victoria (she is a marvel) Evaggleos (sorry if I have spelt incorrectly) Alexandros Alban The food in the restaurants was excellent and the buffet one of the best we have had the pleasure to dine in. We also had the pleasure of breakfast at the Level 2 exclusive breakfast restaurant, it was sublime. Thank you to the housekeeping team for keeping our room spotless and changing the white fluffy towels everyday, you guys work so hard. There is still work to be done here, but everyday that goes by the hotel is evolving and I hope that the fantastic staff stay with you to help you become even better. Please go ahead and make a booking for this hotel, you will not regret it. We will return in the future to see how all of the planting has come on and what else might have been built or created on some of the spare land around the hotel. Thank you again to everyone, enjoy your break and we will see you soon. Best wishes Julie & Neil
A very new hotel so the gardens are still ‘maturing ‘ but aside from that this hotel is fantastic. Facilities are clean and beautifully decorated. The staff are without exception excellent. I holidayed here with my sister and everyone couldn’t of been more helpful, polite, smiley - perfect in every way. The transfer is rather long, but it is a great way of seeing the surrounding area. All in all a very successful holiday.
Just back from 1 week in this lovely hotel We have got 2 kids 9&7 booked a family swim up room, the pool was a great size but very cold kids could not go in it for any length off time and adults the same. We got a joining room which was very modern and spotlessly clean 1hr taxi from airport cost €95 each way better than 2.5 hrs on the bus transfer Food very good in all restaurants Location poor if u like to get out there is nothing about and the walk to the local village/supermarket (15/20mins ) is along a busy road with no pavement to talk about just stones at the side off the road There is a bus stop out side the hotel,we I enquired about going to see some sights but unfortunately u need to get the bus to Rhodes 1.5 hrs where u get a connection to where ever u want to go Entertainment there is a bar which has a band, piano or violin playing at night very quite hotel which is a nice, but a bit to quite for me The main pools are lovely but again very cold Beach is Peebles and not much going on there nice loungers All in all a lovely hotel if u want to spend a quite week or 2 on a sun lounger tip book the all inclusive small beer €3 cocktails €9
Having spent a week at this great hotel, I can only recommend it wholeheartedly! Not only is the design of the facilities, and the slick modern architecture a real treat for every design- and lifestyle-lover, but also the staff cater to your every need, so that you feel pampered all the way round. The rooms are designed in a minimal, but not spartan, modern and elegant style, and offer (apart from really comfy beds with plenty of pillows!!) amazing open bathrooms (the loo is closed off, however - important to mention this!), a spacious walk-in rain shower, really spacious balconies, a complimentary Nespresso machine with fresh coffee pads re-stocked every day, great spa products, lush bathrobes and slippers, and plenty of space to feel comfy and cozy. Also the common areas of the hotel provide just as many amenities, and just as great a feeling of luxury as the rooms, with a wide-ranging selection of really superb restaurants (both buffet as well as à la carte dining was of excellent quality here!), great bars (none of that cheap booze!), several spacious pools with plenty of sunbeds (no stressful fights for good spots necessary), an exceedingly clean and well-kept private beach with serviced sunbeds, an amazing spa and clean, well-kept gym, and several other small treats. One element that should really be highlighted here, is that all features of this hotel are executed with an amazing eye for details, and at the highest standard - both in terms of quality, as well as design and style; you really feel as if you had dropped into a fancy lifestyle-instagram-account as soon as you set foot in the hotel. One final element that needs to be highlighted here is the army of friendly, helpful and professional staff this hotel employs, all of whom go out of their way to make your stay as pleasurable as possible for you. This is definitely a hotel which stands out, and where you can experience a holiday you will gladly think back to!
Just got back from a 14 night holiday! Did book on a half board basis but changed to Ultra All inclusive part way through the holiday as it was really a good deal. The hotel is beautiful, modern and so so clean!! Food is amazing and such a fantastic choice over all the restaurants... Staff are friendly and helpful and cannot do enough for you, just ask and it's sorted! We had a double garden room with private pool, room 4003... Beautiful!! Cleaning staff so smiley and helpful! Even the GM popped up everywhere he was chatty and always smiling! From breakfast through to the evening cannot fault the staff in all areas!! some will remember always! There is a public bus stop right outside the hotel with the bus going all the way up the coast to Rhodes Town, but takes about two hours each way! Lindos is a lot closer and worth a day trip, you can hire a car and spend a great day out on the other side of the island... But this hotel caters for those who just want to relax and be totally pampered !! Loved it!!
The hotel facility is new and the place very clean with nice restaurants and bars. Moreover, the pool area as well as the beach area are nice to relax. The staff was friendly and the quality in general very good. It was a bit unfortunate though, that in some of the resort restaurants you needed to have a reservation for lunch.
This new hotel ist very nice, located in the south of rhodes - 66 km from the town and the airport. Most of the rooms have a private pool. We had a room on the first floor without pool because the next large pool was in sight and reachable in one minute. The rooms are stylish with a balcony and glass-front. The whole hotel is like a large village and to the restaurants we walked from the last block a while. So we had morning and evening sport too. The restaurants really have a great variety of foods - not so much greek than international in the main restaurant. The whole staff is always friendly and helpful. Only the cleaning in some areas of the hotel could have been better. Near the lobby the cleaning had been OK - not so in areas farer to the lobby. (It seems nobody is resposible to control cleaning there !) I think the starting this year was OK - but thew hotel managers have the challange to improve in future many tiny things for a 5 star resort ! We have been satisfied with our stay - saying thank you for the birthday cake - we come again soon !
