This hotel provides good, clean, modern accomodation with a good breakfast. It seemed a particular favourite of walking groups on the night we stayed - but the breakfast was kept refreshed so no complaints there. Good value for money.

Nice place to stay, not close to downtown, but easy to get to, rooms are good size, clean, friendly staff, breakfast is good. I would recommend this place, just be aware that it's a little bit of a hike to get downtown. We had a car, so CHEERs, no worries.

The hotel is situated outside the city center. You will need to take the bus line 11 to reach the center. You can find a very good breakfast, clean rooms, gentle staff. The only flaw is the fridge: it's a bit small for all the people staying at the hotel. Also, if you go during summer, there will be no night hours, the sun is always up, and the curtains in the hotel rooms are not so dark. So better get a sleep mask.

Very nice hotel, close to all the popular attractions. Rooms were clean and breakfast was excellent. Was a little apprehensive about the common bathroom at first but the bathroom was extremely clean and tidy. However, the bathroom inside our room had no lock and that was The only problem we faced.

My friend and I spent two nights here when we needed a last-minute place to stay after missing our flight. Our late-night check-in was seamless (using a code), and the room was very clean, modern and comfortable. In the morning, we were pleased with the free breakfast, and the communal areas were also very clean, modern and welcoming. Gosia, who was at the front desk both mornings, was so friendly and helpful! While Hotel Grimur is located in the suburbs, we were able to get to the heart of downtown Reykjavik in a cab in just over five minutes. I was impressed with all the bike paths by the hotel, and if I come back, I would definitely rent a bike. The public bus system in the area is also impressive. A wonderful place to stay!

My wife and I loved our stay here. We were wondering about the quality after seeing the price, and the communal kitchen/dining area. But we shouldnt have! The room was spacious with a modern bathroom (Although no safe), this place was an absolutely perfect base for our trips around south/west Iceland. We would definitely recommend hiring a car, but then I would recommend anyone going to Iceland to rent a car to begin with. Really enjoyed our stay, the breakfasts, the service and the experience. No complaints!

Stayed here for 2 nights on Business and thoroughly enjoyed. Nice and modern with a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast decent. Lovely sitting area and loved the complimentary coffee machine. The staff at reception also seemed friendly although I did not converse with them.

We checked in for one night whilst touring the Island. You access the hotel using a code which is emailed to you and you use the same code for your room. Lovely, clean room, shower was lovely and hot, room was warm and comformtable. You can access tea/coffee facilites using the communal eating/relaxing area and could if you wanted prepare some food. Breakfast was bread, ham, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, cereals etc and there was no pressure, just a lovely relaed atmosphere and the staff were very attentive. Great base for exploring and a shop downstairs and the local pizza place was lovely. The signs outside say your vehicle will be clamped if left for more than 30 mins but we asked and apparently no-one has ever been clamped, we left our vehicle over night with no problems. Great stay thank you

Location is great, people are friendly, and hotel is clean, quiet, and comfortable. This hotel is minimally staffed--loved the numeric code entry. 24x7 coffee and tea, small common fridge for guests' food, free Icelandic style breakfast, and easy access to a pizzeria and 24 hour store. Bed and bedding were comfortable; hot water good and hot--and easy to get to other places. Definitely a great find in a trendy and expensive city! _Aboslutely loved it_.

Stayed here for a week with family. Great base for South Iceland and enjoyed being outside of Reykjavík itself but close enough for all the attractions. Very comfy beds and enjoyed the typical scandi minimalist design. Breakfast was nice, continental style and lovely coffee available although no snacks throughout the day as listed. Would definitely recommend the hotel. My children both have Autism and I felt welcome and comfortable. Thank you!
