Everything was great except minor issue with dryer and smoke alarm going off in the whole building twice early am. Customer service is prompt and easy to get ahold of. Clean place and had everything we needed

Property is suitable for families, it closes to a famous grocery store called Bonus and about 10-15 mins to local restaurants. Room is big and clean, it looks new. This is a self check-in/check out apartment. It does not have a front desk. Property manager supposed to send you an email containing check-in instructions, room number, and access code one day before you arrive. In my case Property manager hadn’t sent me the email for some reason. I realized I was in trouble only when I was at the door, I couldn’t access the building because I don’t have the access code. I eventually got the room# and access code with the help of Aya, she was the housekeeper of the property on that day. The other issue is that on the last two days of our stay. The fire alarm occasionally triggered, it was annoying.

Lovely well maintained and clean apartment which served as a great base for our Iceland adventure. Only drawbacks would be noise. When lobby doors close they slam shut and it vibrates the walls. If you have heavy footed guests above you then you’ll hear thudding around. The building is also attached to a gym with zero thought to acoustics. They have 6am spin classes and were woken by really loud music a few times. The Blue Mountain staff are really helpful though and the gym did turn the music down a little. It is pretty quiet between 11-6 and I suspect if you’re on one of the upper floors you probably won’t hear the gym music in the mornings.

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The property management was very helpful both before going to Iceland and during our stay. Parking was free and easy. The place was clean, and kitchenette was useful. We would stay here again.

Positive Aspects: The apartment was clean and comfortable, especially the beds. Spacious enough for four guests, which is a plus for families or small groups. Located across the street, within walking distance from a small grocery store (Bonus). Areas of Concern: 1. Common Area Cleanliness: The hallways had an unpleasant trash odor, which detracted from the overall impression. 2. Fire Alarm Incident: A fire alarm went off unexpectedly shortly after we arrived and went to bed. There was no smoke and no clear reason why the alarm went off. Since there is no reception, there is no one from the property management investigating or providing directions to the guests on when it was safe to return to the apartments. 3. Despite the apartment accommodating four people comfortably, we were charged extra for a fourth guest (a child) sleeping on a sofa with another child. I was aware of the fee in advance; however, I don’t understand why it had to be charged if the owner/management didn’t need to make any additional preparations for the fourth guest.

Property is nice and would stay here again during a time when there is darkness at night. There are window blinds but does little to block out light. Room definitely needs curtains to block out light in windows since the sun does not go down in the summer. Hard to sleep when the room never gets dark. Room seemed noisy but couldn’t tell if it was inside the building or outside. Maybe some remodeling going on. Could definitely use some sort of fan to move air on the warmer days. Even with windows open it can get pretty warm.

The apartment was fine, unfortunately poorly managed. We arrived at 3.05pm (confirmed and regular check in being 3pm), after a long flight and also after spending time in the city, to ensure we do not arrive early, just to find that the apartment was not ready. The cleaning lady told us to take it up with management, since she will not be done with the room for another 20 minutes. After contacting the rental management company, we got the reply to be patient, they are working on getting us into the apartment asap. Nothing happened, the only cleaning lady on site took her time and we finally got into the room at 3.45pm. On the second morning of our stay we were awaken at 7.30am by the the ceiling mounted smoke alarm. There was no smoke, so it was a false or malfunctioning alarm. There was no way to silence it since it was a model with absolutely no buttons. Upon contacting management again, they advised to use a button combination to silence it...;-) After explaining there's no buttons, they again asked us to be patient, since they're working on it... Meanwhile the neighbours on our floor woke up and started asking what's going on. Eventually, after 20 minutes, the alarm was silenced remotely. Overall, our stay was a mixed experience: room not ready for check in, nice apartment with some issues (see the smoke alarm wake-up described above), good location if you have a car, quiet and safe neighbourhood. To sum up, I would not recommend a stay with Blue Mountain Apartments.
