Weekend getaway

The house was beautiful, much better in person than the pictures. The host was super nice, and communication was great. We enjoyed taking our afternoon naps. Hopefully we can return when the weather is better.

Awesome country property

We have stayed in around a dozen rental properties over the past 10 years and this ranch house ranks right at the top of our list. We hated to leave after a week but had other places to go.The house itself is large, very comfortable, bright, and extremely quiet. The kitchen is excellent and well-equipped. If you are looking for a very isolated, quiet stay, consider this one. The hot tub was a great bonus.From day one, communication with the owners and caretaker was over the top. If I could rate them 6-stars, I would! I never waited more than 5 minutes for answers to my many questions.As the owners advise you ahead of time, the property is very isolated and Ranchita offers no stores, groceries, gasoline at all. We were there to hike and birdwatch and really enjoyed both. In summary, a great rental in a beautiful location with fabulous owners.

Ranchita weekend

We loved our secluded weekend at Roberta's place among the oaks, red shank shrubs and boulders near Ranchita. She and Genevieve were accommodating and patient with our requests for a change in the bed arrangements and let us in early when we arrived. Lovely views, good working kitchen. Close to hiking up on the plateau and less than a half hour from Anza Borrego. Enjoyed the hot tub as well!

Beautiful secluded house

We had an amazing time on our short trip here. Very secluded and remote, and the night sky was amazing. The owner was super responsive when we messaged her, and the house was in excellent shape. Watching the sunset from the hot tub was pretty great too! Thank you!

Rest, serenity and NIGHT SKY!

My husband and I picked this property to see the night skies and we were not disappointed! It’s a very remote location with quiet and no lights so you may enjoy the amazing night skies, along with some shooting stars. The location is 10/10; it has everything you need just bring food! The host is 10/10! Roberta made check-in and out very easy and simple. We will definitely be back.

My son loves astronomy so we needed a place that was remote for the dark skies. This place was perfect. We loved that we could walk right out the door and set up his telescope. The house was very clean, organized and well stocked. Know that there are no stores or restaurants nearby so you must bring your own food and drinks. Roberta, our contact person was amazing. She was pleasant, easy to reach and very informative. We would love to stay here again.

10 out of 10 Exceptional Experience!

We had an amazing time staying at the property! This vacation actually felt like a vacation. The property had everything needed for a relaxing time away from home. There were board games, horseshoes, cornhole, fuzzball and jigsaw puzzles to keep even the teenagers busy. The pantry was well stocked with everything needed. There were extra blankets, pillows and towels. The home was immaculately clean and very very comfortable. The manager/owner Roberta was very communicative and responsive to my messages and she was a great hostess for the entire stay. Check-in and check-out process was seamless. Will definitely recommend friends and family this place if they want to have a relaxing experience. Will definitely stay here again next time we need to get away from the craziness and congestion of the city…..and just relax and sip wine outside and watch the stars.

Amazing dark sky escape!

What a place!!! And what a host!! Amazing communication and care with this one. This is a real gem. No neighbors in shouting range of the house, skies dark enough to see the milky way, breathtaking mountain views, and really impressively clean and stocked accomodations. Will definitely be coming back to this one!!

It was the location & timing which primarily brought us to this absolute gem of a vacation rental. (We were seeking super dark skies for stargazing & viewing the Milky Way during June’s new moon) but we were totally impressed by this really pretty house with a great floorplan & every household amenity you will need while away for several days. The open area kitchen is a perfect space to prepare meals & the family room is very comfortable. Everything is super clean; the bathrooms, the floors, the windows, the appliances & BBQ. Central air conditioning is nice for the hot daytime. The spa is on the deck overlooking valleys & mountains was fresh & welcoming. We will be back for the next celestial event. Communication with the property owner was prompt & clear. The entire experience was streamlined & pleasant… we highly recommend this place.

Rejuvenating Weekend

My husband and I spent Friday through Sunday in this rental. It was absolutely lovely. The house was spotless, full of amenities, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. When we weren't exploring Julian or Anza Borrego, we spent time in the house playing games, watching movies, eating, and relaxing in the hot tub. It was very windy during our trip, which made the hot tub even more inviting! The stars at night were fantastic. Communication was great and check in and check out were very easy. We hope to stay again next year!
