Stayed here for one night with my girlfriend. It is in a fantastic location with a 2 minutes walk to the centre and 5 minutes to the boulevard which has some spectacular views. Receptionist allowed us to leave are bags until we needed them, that evening so we could enjoy the town with out dragging our bags around.
For my first stay in that kind of hotel (rather a kind of flat rental than an hotel room) I have been attributed a large two rooms flat with a bedroom for two, a bathroom and a room with a small kitchen plus sofa, tv and so on. It is large in size, convenient and rather comfortable, even if it looks "cold", with minimum interior decoration. It is perfect for a couple of days or even longer.
We stayed for 5 nights in a 2 bed appartment. Not like the pictures in advert. Very dark, so you need to have lights on all the time. The windows are velox so can feel a little boxed in at times. Good little kitchen area, no mugs (only espresso cups) or no toaster or no kettle. On check in I had to correct the receptionist twice regarding the cost of stay. Its a good idea to bring copy of your confirmation with total price on it. Plenty of room. Shower great. Bed linen and duvet great. Location is excellent. Receptionist found it hard to get us transport information, ie buses, taxi. What ever you do, do not ask the receptionist for restaurant reccommodation. She sent us across the street to a restaurant that was just awful. There is a lot of carpet which should be replaced with tiles ir timber. Appartment was clean. Beds were very hard.
My wife and I spent five nights here in June and were most happy with the hotel in all respects. It was a large and well-equipped room with a small kitchnette. The location was superb, directly in the heart of the city and a short walk to shops, restaurtants, and the Chateau de Pau. Despite being in the heart of the city it was remarkably quiet and very easy on the wallet.
Fabulous location near centre, train station and bus stops. Which are amazingly good value. Staff so welcoming, friendly and helpful .The room was perfect base with en suite and cooking facilities, dishwasher and fridge if needed. Comfortable accommodation, spacious and safe. Near excellent restaurants. Non intrusive as no daily room service which is perfect for a base for visiting Pyrenees and local area which is amazing !. Very good value for money and staff amazing. Visit Pau a beautiful town! I have always stayed in hotels and have been converted to apartments, amazing freedom, home from home base!
Stayed here for some time, and I can agree with most of the '-' reviews. Staff is not too friendly since hotel is fully booked, it's no need for them to be better and attract clients. They charge extra for everything including extra towels. Internet is slow, and no cleaning is provided, even if you need a soap you need to get it yourself... The plus is kitchen, but it's a very small plus. Most of the rooms are very dark and dusty, so you basically paying for bed nothing else
Stayed here for the 2014 etape du tour. It's in a great central location with all of the town within walking distance. Most of the apartments were booked by the same tour company who managed the bookings so we didn't need to deal with the reception staff; everything seemed well organised though. The rooms are well sized for the price; each one with it's own small kitchen area, small table and seating; decent sized well appointed bathroom with a good shower and most importantly the beds were comfortable. The breakfast is a cost addon but not expensive; the usual "continental" fare is on offer; pastries, breads, cereals, meat, cheese, yoghurt, juice, and hot drinks; the "dining room" is small but clean and well staffed. The only complaint I could think of is the WIFI is a cost option; other than that it was perfect for our needs. Room Review here http://youtu.be/jVSAoc2FVs8
I stayed in this hotel appartment for a few months in both T1 and T2 appartments. T1 is very small with a little kitchen as part of the bedroom. Not recommended for longer stay. T2 is better with a bedroom, living room and a kitchen. The service is not great! If you stay there for longer and you need to use the washing machine and tumble dryer, there is only 1 of each available. If you are lucky enough you don't need to wait long before you can use them. The cleanliness of the rooms is very poor. They only replace towels and bedsheets. No other cleaning is done. Despite several complaints at the reception that my shower was not cleaned for weeks it was still not done after. The internet connection is very slow and does not work properly. Most of the time the hotel is busy and therefore noisy, even during the night. It is in the centre and close to bars and pubs and you can hear people shouting on the street most of the nights. Overall it was not a good experience and I would not choose this hotel again.
Good size of apartment but no room cleaning service provided. No bathroom amenities given to the hotel guest. Room was dusty and dirty. Looks like they never vacuumed or cleaned carpet in a very long time. Would caution anyone with asthma condition to stay in this hotel. Hotel staff wasn't friendly.
We stayed here for a week and can't say we were impressed. Let's start with the pros: The room was spacious enough and could sleep 3 people - there was a bedroom and a living room with a single bed that you pull from under the couch. The small kitchen is good enough with a microwave and small dishwasher. Bathroom was standard, shower but no bathtub. The location is also very good, right in the centre of Pau. There is internet access available (wifi, even though we were informed that they had cable only - ?!?) and it was not super fast but it worked. Aaand now on to the cons.....The stench of cigarettes in the entire room was overwhelming!!! The room we had was also very loud, we could hear people talking outside and on a weekend night we heard people until 3am, which made it quite hard to fall asleep - or stay asleep! The breakfast was just poor....baguettes, some yogurt, butter, cold cut and pre packaged cheese. Not worth the cost but the great service we received from the girl there made everything better. Small - but important - detail: the plug ins are all of course French style, with that protruding prong that makes it impossible to fit your phone charger for example. There were no adapters available in the room, we had forgotten ours - and of course reception was closed! - but we were lucky enough to run into the same friendly girl from breakfast who provided us with adapters so we could charge our phones! Be aware that the reception does not follow typical hotel hours - I think they open at 10am and close at 8pm and have a lunch break from 12-2 or 3pm if I remember correctly, and they are closed on Sundays (no breakfast on sundays either by the way).
