When I booked my travel I requested 2 beds, in a 1 bdrm suite. My mom and I were vacationing for her birthday. When we got to The Reserve we were told that we had been "upgraded" to a master suite (one king size bed). Never-mind that I specifically requested 2 beds, during booking. My mom and I both expressed our displeasure about sleeping in the same bed. Needless to say, a 1 bdrm suite, with 2 beds would be available until the next day. Instead of apologizing for the mistake, management insisted that they had done us a favor. Unfortunately, we had several issues that required management attention and they found it impossible to admit any fault. We were in rm 5108, the safe worked when it wanted to. Sometimes on the first try it would open, other times it would take 10 or more attempts. I called for someone to repair the safe (several times), they said it was the battery; but no one every replaced the battery. Then, there was the time we decided to eat lunch at the main resort. They treated us like we were trying to steal food, because we didn't have wrist badges. So, we had to go back to management to get a badge, we had been there for 2 days, by then. Instead of saying we apologize for not giving you the badge upon arrival the manager smirked and put the badges on our wrists. Management refused to take responsibility for any of their shortcomings. I can't say enough how awful management is. But the bright side is the facilities are absolutely lovely!

It was our second time staying in this resort. As usual, the place was impeccable in terms of cleanliness, services, room, and staff. Our stay and activities were very well coordinated. Special thanks to Elvis who helped us with reservations. Kids club staff was phenomenal. We would most definitely come back without a single doubt. If you have kids and want a quite, family oriented resort, with kids being entertained...The Reserve is for you!

Pretty good hotel by any standard. But just a little above what you can get elsewhere in the DR. Also, expect to pay for good service. You can see the change if you leave tips.

beautiful hotel and grounds. great staff, terrific food and drinks, clean wide beach, fun bars at night good gym with energetic staff..tough spinning instructors !

Hotel: We booked what we thought was a beach view. The reserve portion of the compound is not on the beach. They will ask you when you arrive to upgrade or you will have to golf cart it back and forth. The reserve is fine, a bit worn but it was quiet and had several pools. The main hotel is larger, pools are huge, right off the beach, restaurants are all there and the all inclusive dinig is triple the size. Staff: right when you arrive you are seated and told you receive a guest service point person. This person schedules everything for you and shows you the property. She was fine but didn't break anything down for us just tried to sell. We have credits and we had to figure out where to pick them up or we would have lost them. (Would have been nice for her to arrange that for us) you can't really make reservations with out this contact. We kept ordering different drinks, the bartenders needed tips for real alcohol. People were friendly, hard working, but definitely needed tips to be realaccommodating. Spa: very good. Facility good. Service great. Price avg. Food: we are from New York so hard to top. I would give the dining hall more credit then he restaurants. Wish the hotel really went all out and had a full Dominican menu. Beach: again tips take you far. The first rows are always "booked". The beach itself was very nice. Overall: it was fine (I would have said good if it weren't for the constant hustle), perfect weather, nice beach, and we met some really nice people.

checked the reviews ahead of purchasing and now i know that 95% of reviews are "fake" reviews done by the hotel hosts on behalf of guests so they are thereby verified as done by travelers..., you can see which ones they are as they are all written in the same way in good and correct english and always refer to individual staff members and tons of praise of the place..., the place is quite OK and the rooms at the reserve section are large and nice but don't expect mainland standard, it is all island style and quality, if they didn't over advertise one would be a little less annoyed...but still a good place, one of the better in the area and great beach, OK food, some bars OK premium products, staff alright and will be good in time...maybe next generation when they have more experience and more experience of international standards, in some of the "premium" restaurants they have a few people that have real experience/knowledge etc

Eddie our concierge was a great asset during our stay. He gave me his cell number and what I needed, all I had to do was text and it magically was done.

Best experience with the staff there, always helpful and goes out of their way to make your stay memoriable

The resort is very well laid out and maintained. The room was very spacious (had a master suite) and very clean. We were there for a week and never felt the need to leave -- there was plenty to do onsite. The beach is nice and clean. The three pools are great. The restaurants are nice too. The staff is friendly and very accommodating.

It was our first trip to the DR. We visited the resort for my brothers 40th birthday and his proposal to his GF. The hotel is very beautiful and has great amenities, activities for all ages. Multiple pools, a walk up beach area, amazing restaurants. All of the hotel staff is very courteous and helpful. Enjoyed every day of our stay and was lucky to have stayed at this resort. Strongly recommend to anyone thinking of going.

I highly recommend this hotel, especially the Royal Service package.

The Reserve At Paradisus Palma Real Resort is an excellent all inclusive hotel with great service amazing food and very good staff. The setting beside the Caribbean is beautiful with a wonderful soft sandy beach and atlantic ocean.

My overall impression about the hotel is very good. The package we had allowed us to use nearby premises. The place is very beautiful. Design is amazing. You feel like staying in paradise. The staff freindly, food is excellent. I will visit the place once again in the future.

Excellence experience! The place is amazing and the staff is great.

2nd visit to a Paradisus resort. This one is a great all-inclusive with a wonderful kids club that my children didn't want to leave. The men and women that work at the Kids Club kept the activities fun and interesting and the kids were super happy. The best part of the experience, for sure. Carlos, who managed activities, was wonderful and always made sure to swing by and get guests involved. Great food everywhere we went. However, despite daily tips, family concierge, pool attendants and housekeeping wasn't as attentive as the Paradisus Resort in Playa Del Carmen.

We have stayed at other resorts and nothing compares to the Reserve at Palma Real. The rooms are very spacious, the grounds perfectly kept, restaraunt a delicious and the staff extremely attentive trying to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Have been here twice this year and planning to return in the very near future. Excellent for families and our 2 year old really enjoyed the activities at the children's center.

Staff was great. Catered to our every need. The resort was kept super clean. Staff would be cleaning entire grounds all day. Food was great in most restaraunts. The reserve was definitely worth the few extra dollars. Resort is real family friendly

The hotel was awesome, room service was excellent, staff were friendly, and good restaurants.

This place was amazing. Definitely worth the additional money for the reserve. Would come back again.

My expirience at the hotel was a very pleasant one , my spectators about the hotel were met, the only thing that was not so good was about the TV in our room the control was not working at all, but other than that everything was fantastic.
