The staff is amazing. They have an excellent animation team who made us feel welcome the moment we got there. The food is amazing as well as the beautiful views and relaxing pools.
THE GOOD - Service and staff. All of the staff (Milky Way, Superman, Mr. Wow (animation guys), Rocio (front desk), I don't remember the names of all the staff I came in contact with but they were all great) do their absolute best to cater to your every need. They are truly a wonderful bunch and I cannot praise them enough. Cleanliness and tidiness of the grounds is impeccable. You can see people working non stop. Daytime entertainment. A lot of fun poolside activities to keep the guests entertained (water aerobics, foam party, etc.) Beach shade. Never had a problem to get a spot in the shade. THE SO-SO: beach. Murky water and has jelly fish. Nighttime entertainment. A little bit on the boring side. Bahia Príncipe next door was more fun (bachata dancing, karaoke, etc.) Food. Nothing special, even in the specialty restaurants. We dined at the Don Pablo, Sakura, Il Capricio and the Gourmet. None of the restaurants were horrible, just about average or slightly better on some occasions (The Capriccio). The wine - a decent house wine, nothing special. THE BAD - The jelly fish in the water. Very annoying. Over the course of my 8 day stay, I was stung a handful of times. Nothing horrible but it was quite unpleasant. THE UGLY - if you got this far, make sure you read this. Imagine being a woman in your room by yourself and to be woken up at 2am by somebody claiming to be room service banging on your door so hard that your heart literally stops for a few moments. Bang any harder and t
Things I liked at the resort: To start the maid service was EXCEPTIONAL. I’ve never had such amazing maid service. They would even organize my sunscreen each day and if we took a nap the bed was remade in the evening without asking and chocolate left on the bed. The staff were overall very friendly. However, the dont all know English as well as other resorts. We are a younger couple (in our 20s) so the entertainment was just “ok” for us. All of the older couples we met felt it was enough. They have a foam party once a week, it should at least be 3 times per week because it’s one of the few really fun things there. They do have a beach party, again once a week, it should be more than once per week for people and their flights. The food was usually good. The reviews I read about it being repetitive is not really that true. Yes they always have burgers or for breakfast French toast but usually they throw in PLENTY of other foods. Overall, my only issue was sometimes the food was not warm. Their is PLENTY of variety. The check in process is super quick. Although that’s great we wish they added more help so they would’ve went over how everything worked. Luckily, we stayed longer than most but even with a long stay we were still finding things out toward the end. I now appreciate the 30 minute check in at other places that go over everything. My favorite thing about this resort is also the best of anywhere I’ve stayed for all-inclusive it’s their drink menu!!
Pros: Very nice pool areas. Although the pool adjacent to the beach is the party pool and very loud (music, DJ yelling etc) - I know some people like this, we did not. Food is fantastic. I didn't think an all inclusive resort could achieve this level of excellence. Every meal (buffet or restaurant) was great!! Beach had plenty of nice cabanas with chairs. Lots of palms around to make it feel more private. Cons: The beds: absolutely awful. Unfortunately this overshadowed the whole trip (more than the mysterious deaths the week prior to our stay) The ocean is not great (we knew this from prior reviews). Since the property is situated in a lagoon, the water is very shallow and not clear.
Well maintained, good staff. The guy in the lobby bar had an attitude. Overall the best place I stayed so far.
The staff was sweet. The place was not clean, same food everyday no fresh food, not very clean for the price we paid.
We called four times to get a working refrigerator and it never happened! Had to call and get safe fixed twice and shower once. Outside the room we had no issues!! Staff was very pleasant.
The grounds are amazing with the flowers, scrubs and trees! The service was very inconsistent and we would often ask for something and never receive it. The food was wonderful and Carlos, the bartender at the back pool area, was great!
Love it. So much fun. Alqaysbmy to gonspot. Love the food
EVERYONE on staff treats you with respect and makes you feel as though part of a family. Luis at the poolside restaurant was amazing! He knew our name, and took special care to assure our stay was top notch. There is nothing we needed which we did not have.
I'll start with the negatives. The main one is I paid extra for an "Oceanfront" room. I did not get one. I had a poolfront room. I could not even see the ocean. I was on the ground floors. Maybe if you were on the 2nd or 3rd floor you could possibly see the ocean. The other thing was lack of communication. When we checked in, it would be nice if they went over more info about the resort and how to utilize. The reservations were impossible to get on their app for the most. I heard from other patrons complaining that they couldn't get reservations either. Also they should let us know that some of the restaurants are st the main resort. We were in the Adult only. Three of the restaurants are not. There were screaming children running aground the restaurant while we were trying to have dinner. Another thing that was an inconvenience was that our housekeeping usually didn't come until late afternoon. Sometimes we wanted to go back to the room and use it but couldn't. The beds are really hard. The last negative is the plastic bracelet they make you wear. It caused a rash. I know most AI resorts do, but we had just stayed a week at another resort that had nice soft natural bracelets. Now positives. Number one is the amazing staff!!! They made our trip the best ever! They go above and beyond and every single one was friendly. Even the grounds keepers were. The food we thought was really good! Way better than the other resort we were at! Amazing!
Nice resort, but wifi was intermittant at best. Did not have tv for 3 days, complained twice, each time they said they'd send someone to fix but never did. Finally webt to the desk and they said the whole bldg was out. Why didn"t they say that on the phone? Finally got it on thursday. Changing a restaurant reservation a day ahead to move it back 2 hours, they never communicated it to the restaurant which presented an embarrassing situation. "Adults only" is misleading, if you want to do anything you have to go to the family side, and we saw children come over to the adult side. Drinks did not have much alcohol in them. Even with the hassles, personnel were very nice and accommodating. Food was excellent.
AMAZING!!! the staff to the room to the food. Not a single complaint and cant wait to go back to bahia principe hotel
the only problem is the beach located close to a river so no clear water no white sand no open ocean either
Excellent staffs, amazing atmosphere. Highly recommended! Many thanks to Juan, Luis, and all of the staffs that made our trip so worth it. We would definitely come back!
Spent 5 days at Luxury Bahia Principe Bouganville. Had a great time. Staff was warm and welcoming. The room was spacious and comfortable. The pool and beach were nice, with plenty of available chairs. There were so many different activities from morning to night, the staffetc.but above and beyond to entertain us. The restaurants had a large variety of food and a la carte option offered a nice change of pace. Overall had a great stay, will definitely return and recommend to friends!
Animation by staff is like a 4.5 and beach but if you want to be in a very clean and elegant place with happy people this is the place :) food very good
