The staff was friendly and responsive. The concierge was very helpful.

You definitely get treated depending on the type of room you book. We did a overwater bungalow and normal luxury room and it was the opposite treatment for them. The bungalow was all inclusive while a regular room charged for every extra item. It was just confusing.

The pool was one of our highlights! It felt like you were on a white sandy beach with plenty of umbrellas for shade. Another highlight was kayaking around the lagoon. Views from the room are gorgeous. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Really enjoyed our time here!

Its a great resort, staff was super friendly and helpful.

The staff was very helpful However, if you are staying in any of their regular rooms (not bungalow) you will be disappointed. There are small gnats everywhere (even at restaurants). We had a HUGE roach in our room also that was a horrible surprise at 1:30 am in the bathroom. They had a private reception that had music until 2:00am that kept us up. So be prepared for not getting much sleep. Music also was loud on Friday night until midnight. I complained at the front desk at 1:00am in my pajamas, and they were nice about it, but I was still awake. The bedding and towels are nice and clean but the room was old, needed painting, and just partially updated. The worse part of the stay was the selection of food. They really just have one menu at the pool restaurant and room service. We had one hamburger at the pool restaurant that was still blue inside and they rewarmed it and gave it back to us on a bloody bun that the raw hamburger was perviously on. SO Gross! Then they still billed us for the hamburger. Then the main dinning was open after 6 but the menu is outrageously priced, so we never ate there. We had room service almost every night and ate the same meal. We went to the grocery store close by and got peanut butter and jelly for lunches. We also stayed in the over water bungalow these are awesome rooms (but they should be for the price $). But still have the same issue with food at the resort.

Front desk staff and cleaning staff are excellent. They went out of their way to be helpful. The staff at their restaurant were very slow and not very customer friendly. The food prices are way to expensive for what you get.

Hotel charges are exorbitant for beverages and food.

This property looks and feels like a motel. It is outdated, falling apart and pretty dirty. Mosquitoes are literally everywhere because the hotel has a number of stagnant water ponds and with the high risk of dengue in Papeete, I would stay away from this property. The French « gourmet » restaurant Le Carre falls well below expectations, it is not refined or outstanding, just average. One good point about his hotel is that the Polynesian staff is amazing! There were so friendly and caring, it was really touching and I commend them for trying so hard to male this hotel feel like it is worth the hefty rate they charge. Not worth it trust me. The Papeete Airport transit motel is so much better if you ask me. At least you don’t fell like you’re being fooled with promises of a five stars and delivered with a motel.

My wife and I recently stayed in the Over Water Bungalows at the resort for two nights at the end of out French Polynesia vacation and were disappointed in the condition of the bungalow itself. The bungalows and walkways looked dilapidated and falling apart, nothing like the photographs on the resort website. Literally instead of fixing the timbers along the walkway they decided to put plywood down (which is now warped) on top along the entire length of the walkway. The balcony on the bungalow was falling apart with timbers rotting. It's as if they have no budget to maintain or renovate them properly. If you want to stay at an overwater bungalow when passing through Tahiti then do not waste your money at Le Merdian but instead stay at the Intercontinental Motu Bungalows which had excellent bungalows.

Front desk staff was very nice, we had the same nice woman at check in and check out

I was surprised how run down the bungalows were. There was a slat missing in the bathroom so there was always an opening to the outside -early morning light came through it. There was also a board missing on the dock leading up to the bungalow. The entire dock was in some disrepair and was not scenic. As you drove in the cart from the lobby to the bungalow, the entire route was unimpressive. We had just come from another resort where we had also stayed in the bungalows. The others were much more first class. Cushions were collected from the furniture while guests were trying watch the sunset. Everything seemed to be more about the convenience of the hotel and employees rather than the enjoyment of the guests. The restaurant was really expensive for what you got and the drinks were marginal for the price paid. Internet access was not convenient. We spent long periods of time trying to get it to work and eventually an employee had to come out and remove a panel from the wall to reboot the server. Very inconvenient and frustrating. There was not a cork screw in the room. We had to wait a long time for an employee to arrive with one and then we felt obligated to find appropriate money to tip the worker. Each "luxurious" bungalow should include a $3 corkscrew for convenience of guests.

Best hotel/resort i've ever stayed at - can't wait to return! will recommend to everyone!

This hotel books rooms that are not ready to be slept in and the bait and switches you to a lower grade room. Bugs, mold, dirt and stained beds. Stay away

It's clearly an old facility i.e. The key card holder fell off the wall repeatedly and the bathroom shower and tub fixtures didn't work properly. Thankfully we were only there for a few hours before a transfer to our cruise ship. On the plus side the location is beautiful and the pool is nice though it also shows some wear and tear i.e. The liner is coming through the sand in multiple places.

Our experience at Le Meridien was just fine as we had been visiting family in USA non-stop for almost 5 weeks and so were looking forward to blobbing out for 3 days. There was a strike on by staff out at the entrance way but that was no bother to us. If we had to criticize we would say that since our previous trip in 2011, we thought some things were looking a bit tired and run down - just a number of minor things - considering the huge tarif. Otherwise everything was just fine - we wanted to be left alone and we were. What we especially love is the huge sandy lagoon style pool.

Nice hotel, Beach is okay. Good option for a layover in Tahiti but far from the airport

Food, service, swimming, drinking fruit juices. Staff always helpful for everything . Can not be better!

We stayed in an over the water bungalo...it was a living aquarium below us! The beautiful reefs, incredible fish, sharks, and even an octopus, combined with the islands inherit beauty our view and stay was incredible. The staff was friendly and helpful. We are gold members of their hotel group, so were allowed to check-in early and leave late. However, the hotel will allow anyone to do this for a fee. Restaurant was delicious.
