- Foam Party was hysterical! - clean room - strong drinks - lay at the pool or take a short stroll on the lit and paved path to the beach - close bar and food when at the beach - nice casual bike tour - played games (bingo, ring toss, water bottle bowling, darts, etc) and could win prizes of rum, coffee, and shirts - did water aerobics and dance class - four a la carte restaurants for dinner but usually three were open a night along with the buffet (which was plenty) - disco fun was what you made of it (staff would try to get things going but many people staying at the place went to bed somewhat early) - Luis was a great bartender - fresh towels for beach and pool easily available - activities team was very inconsistent (Rey, Chocolate M&M, La Gata, and Le Babe were great and saw people as individuals and would interact in a positive way) - some activities staff was very immature and could annoy people (shoving straw wrappers in people's ears again and again) and would interact with each other way more than guests (if you are offended by watching them grab at each others' butts or typically more private areas than you might be offended)

Very hard to explain in short paragraph, most of the staff great, food good, property nice, electrical, plumbing problems on going all the time, hit or miss, for water, hot water, a/c, went 21/2 days no hot shower, hotel likes to overbook then send u to a smaller property, without all-inclusive benefits, then tells u to walk down beach to V Heaven to use theirs!!! 10 min walk!! Not cool , beware!!!!!

We booked our trip in January for March 2017., Day of arrival the Resort told us that they did not have a room for us. They were sending us to another resort that was not all inclusive and not adults only like we paid for. But we could walk a 1/2 mile everyday and come use the facilities at this resort. Ummmm I don't think so, That was not what we paid for. The Staff i.e. Jose was unwilling to do anything for us.... I would not recommend this resort to anyone. They need to really improve on their facilities especially power and water issues in the room. and the Reception Staff. We also have a $200 dollar cell phone call to our Travel agent to get this straightened out and stayed at the only our all inclusive adults only resort in the area.

We got to this hotel, we're welcomed. And then told that there was no room at this hotel because of "water leaking in our room". I called just the week before to confirm. They said they had to transfer us to another resort, we tried to say no because we had no idea what the other resort was like. They were rude and told us we had no other option. We were pretty upset, however the new hotel ended up being fun, we never even saw this resort. I wouldn't take the risk.

This place is horrible! I cannot speak for other Wyndham Hotels in the United States, however, in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic they are terrible and rude. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by staff that appeared to be concierge or customer service, where they informed us that our stuff should stay at the entrance while we get our paperwork figured out. This all seemed sketchy, by the way, but we complied with their request. After bouncing from 3 different Wyndham Staff members, we were finally greeted by the hotel manager. He stated that the hotel was at capacity and overbooked and that they had no room for us. We completely lost our minds of course, because we hand picked this particular resort to spend our vacation at. They continued by saying that we had to go to another resort (not all inclusive and it was equivalent to Motel 6) because there was nothing else. We continued to argue this, however, go nowhere with the hotel manager and staff. We are in a 3rd world poverty stricken country with no leg to stand on and so we took that for the night. The next day they said we can get you into a better resort, however, still not the one we booked and have confirmation for. They then tried to compensate us for the inconvenience with two 50 minute massages, however, tried to slide in a form that we had to sign saying that we waive any right to complain about service and we accept this as payment...definitely did not sign. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!!!!

Staff was outstanding! First room was so mold infested we had to change rooms because my wife was getting sick, requested ground floor king bed, got right floor but with 2 double beds for the first room. Second room we switched into was 2nd floor and the king bed. Room stunk of cigarette smoke so they deoderized it and much better; closet still smelled of mold so we just never opened opened it the rest of the stay. Hotel is not "new" in 2015 only renovated in 2015. You have to walk along a swamp that smells really bad at times to get to the beach. and takes 3-4 minutes. some reviews have said it was on the beach, not true. Food was good. Dominican was by far the best. First day in they started to give us a "tour" which quickly and sneakily turned into a timeshare presentation that they said wasn't ; but clearly it was buying into a membership for Wyndham. If you want to wow someone into a purchase, don't give them a 2 star resort and try to sell them a 4.5 star hotel. They stole 2-3 hours of my presious vacation time and when we did not buy in we were told the salesman was going to loose his job if we didn't at least talk to the "manager". We felt ripped off!
