The room was basic but with minibar and tea/coffee, it was very clean and the shower was fantastic, Radek who was on the reception was very knowlegable and helpful, his English was faultless as was his explanations of tours and public transport, which was very reasonable and easy to use. Olga showed us to our room on ther 1st night as we arrived late, our thanks also go to Ludmila, I would definately use this hotel again! Well located with easy access to the town centre, all good!!
The hotel was a great stay, the breakfast was very good and the wifi was great too. Thank you for your kind and friendly service, Olga, Ludmyla and Radek, you were very helpful and made our stay very comfortable.
Thank you so much for nice spending time in Prague. Many thanks for great breakfast(women in kitchen:Olga, Ludmila, Katka). Thanks for very kind people in reception. I was very delighted for pleasure gift (red wine bottle) during my birthday.
Hotel Bily Lev provides all that's necessary if you're staying in Prague. The hotel is located quite close to public transport, so it's quite easy to get around. The staff are pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was good with a wide range of food. The rooms are are a little small however they are clean and well kept. Its a perfect hotel if you're on a budget and intend on spending most of your time out and about. Definitely opt for Hotel Bily Lev rather than back packers Lodge, as you get hot water, a clean bathroom and a nice bed to sleep in for a good price.
Hotel ok rooms could do with updating hotel is about thirty minute walk to the centre breakfast is good . Best way to old town is on a tram five minute walk away would recommend this hotel nice and quiet at night
I'm a regular visitor to Prague and have stayed at Bily Lev on a number of occasions. It's in the Zikov area of Prague with a 20 minute walk to the main attractions in the centre. Plenty of bars nearby and places to eat which are far cheaper than the main tourists area. Bily Lev offers a great breakfast and friendly staff, nice to be welcomed back at reception from Radek who is always friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great, best scrambled eggs anywhere and service always comes with a smile from Olga and the team. I always enjoy my stay and look forward to the next.
The service of Bílý Lev is excellent, we arrived very late and we were welcomed very friendly. Olga waited for us and explained everything, it was also her who served us breakfast at the very next morning - special thank for that, Olga! In total the hotel is quiet and well situated. It`s possible to walk to the city. And you have the option to go up to the national museum to enjoy the sunrise of Prague.
Classic interior and friendly service. Quite spacious rooms, tidy. The breakfast buffet was amazing. Only one tram stop away from central train station or about 20 minuets on foot. Handful of restaurants and bars around. There is a mini market right next to it if you wanna buy water/alcohol or other stuff. There is a cocktail bar right next door too. The hotel sell public transport tickets which is very handy. We had some issues with key cards but the staff were quick to fix it.
We chose the hotel White Lion from many others for several reasons. Firstly, it is conveniently located relatively to the main train station and the Florenc bus station. Secondly, the hotel is located in the Zizkov district, which is famous for its beer bars and restaurants. We spent 14 days in it and did not regret our choice. The room has everything for a normal holiday, including a refrigerator and a safe. Every day our room was put in order and brought free tea and coffee bags. We chose the bed and breakfast category. Breakfast lasts from 7.00 to 10.00. It is not the most diverse, but tasty and useful. Every day there were vegetables and fruits. The restaurant staff quickly brought food and vegetables when there was a shortage in them. The dishes and tables were always clean. Staff in the person of Lyudmila and Olga is very responsive and polite. During breakfast, we were introduced to the latest news with the help of booklets. Largely due to the quality of service at the White Lion Hotel, our holiday was a success.
When I arrived at 8:15pm I found out they close the reception at 7pm but thankfully when I pressed the intercom hotel buzzer someone was there to answer me. They asked for my name & they let me in without any problems. Gave me room 5 on the ground floor & 2 hotel cards to let myself back in & out of the hotel. There was tea and coffee making facilities laid out for me & a large wardrobe and drawers to put away all my belonging plus a small safe for my valuables (but it was a 500 kc deposit to get the key for this.) Good sized comfortable bed & a large fan to keep cool when needed. Bathroom was excellent with a quality power shower, toilet, sink & hair dryer. WiFi was free & the signal never dropped once! Breakfast was between 7am - 10am & was excellent with the choice of a sort of full English, cereals or continental breakfast to chose from plus tea, coffee or beverages to drink. When the reception was open you can purchase a 24 hour public transport ticket for use on the metro, tram & bus services. I also purchased a couple of tickets from goout.net for a comedy gig & a rooftop club event. When I purchased these online tickets the hotel receptionist kindly printed off these tickets when I sent her my pdf e-mail attachment from my laptop to the hotels e-mail address site without any fuss & personally gave me my print out tickets to my hotel room. I went to Prague for the beer festival in Letná Park. Happily the number 26 tram from Lipanská tram stop took me there to the beer festival & back to Žižkov in 15 minutes. You could also take the bus from the nearby Tachovské náměstí bus stop which the 133 & 175 services take you to Florenc metro station that will take you into the city centre or you can catch the 207 service which will take you into the centre in about 10 minutes. There are some fantastic pubs & bars nearby such as the U Sadu (great place for late night eats & beer), U Slovanské Lípy (great food & beer) Pivovar Victor (where they make their own beer) & the Tiki Taki cocktail bar that's right next door to the Bily Lev (great cocktails, helpful pleasant bar staff & they stay open until 5am!) If there was a downside, I could have done with another electrical socket instead of just the 1 output socket for all my electrical needs & the television in my room only had 1 English speaking channel (CNN) plus the reception of all the channels was somewhat poor at times. I did ask the hotel manager to see if something could be done but after he checked this out he told me the satellite receiver dish was at fault & not the television as I first thought but apart from not servicing the satellite receiver dish I did have a very pleasant 8 day stay during my time in the Bily Lev. Žižkov might not be to everyone's liking but it's a lot cheaper than staying in the centre & you do get to see the real Prague which for someone like me who loves Czech pubs & Czech beer was just manna from heaven for me.
