Throughly enjoyed our 5nights here . Staff were exceptionally friendly nothing was too much trouble . Pool view room was spacious and clean , bed was extremely comfortable and furnishings were modern and fun . Pool was great as was the gym and lap pool. The gardens were beautiful and well maintained. We would most definitely stay here again .

We were worried by some of the negative reviews, but needn't have been. We loved our 5 days here - staff are friendly and accommodating, room was clean, light and spacious. Couch in lounge room a little uncomfortable, but all the more reason to head to the beautiful pool and grab a lounger! The pool area was lovely, the swim p bat and water lounges a bit of fun. Gardens are beautiful - lush and colourful, promoting that tropical feeling. Drinks are no more expensive than in town We shared a pizza, which was delicious and reasonably priced. Didnt try any'thing else, but saw some chicken wings come out and they looked amazing. The breakfast buffet was great, peak hour is at about 8am when it seems to get a little hectic, but the staff do a great job and keep up pretty well. The days we went at about 7am, and 9am were better than at 8. Theres a good choice - lovely smoothies, yogurt, muesli, cereals, bottled juices, and the whole range of hot brekky food. And donuts, pancakes, waffles and pastries. You'd be pretty hard to please if you couldnt find something you liked. Eggs and omelettes are cooked to order - it can be a little slow, but 'worth it for a freshly poached egg. The tea and coffee station was good and well stocked. Extra staff seemed to appear to clear tables and restock when it got exceptionally busy. Its about 45 minutes walk to town, but well serviced by $5 shuttles to the door - they come about every 10 minutes, and leave at about the same frequency from town So transport is no problem. You have the choice of forgoing cleaning every 2nd day in return for a $10 food and beverage credit, which we thought was a great idea. We called it cocktail dollars :) The only negative experience was the day we got home from a trip at 4pm, wanting to shower and rest, and the cleaner was only just coming to our room. We ended up just getting some clean towels and toiletries, which was fine. But it did seem to be a little late for a daily clean. I dont know where all the negative reviews were coming from, maybe it depends on your perception of value. For us, it was extremely good value, and delivered the relaxing and enjoyable holiday we had been anticipating for months. We'll be back!!

Could be a really nice hotel, but there's just too many little things that these guys haven't got right... "King bed" is one of those that is two singles pushed together, so has a ridge in between that you can't sleep on ("you sleep over there darling"); Aircon that smells old and stuffy (needs to be serviced); Room turnover each day, the staff turned the aircon on even though we left it off (what a waste of electricity); Nice touch giving two free drinks on arrival, which is house beer or wine, but when we asked if we could have the beer that is $9.50, no, can only have one that is $9 (seriously, I would have happily paid an extra $0.50!!); Food & Beverage is 5 star hotel prices ($27 for a cheeseburger, going up from there), but it's not a 5 star hotel; Bar fridge in the room wouldn't keep drinks cold; Extractor fan in the bathroom sounded like a motor and couldn't be turned off, literally heard this constant annoying reverberation, felt like being on a train all night; Balcony chair was covered in old bird poo (cleaners obviously not bothering with the balcony). As for the location, you need a car, it's a bit too far out of town. There are bikes there though, to hire at cost.

We had booked to stay five days at QT Resort Port Douglas for our tenth wedding anniversary. In the last week before our trip, I became very nervous when a number of new reviews and an article came out about the resort's facilities rooms and staff. We almost changed plans - its a special occaision that cannot be fixed if its a disappointment. Am so glad we went. The resort is aging a little on the tropics, but it is still a lovely environment. Its possible the state of rooms is not consistent, but our room in Daquiri wing was fantastic. We had a great stay, a really good celebratory holiday and I would stay at QT Pt Douglas again. Thank you for keeping our occaision special.

Stayed here over the June long weekend with family. We had two rooms on the second floor. Most staff were young and all backpackers from overseas, one would think young people traveling and finding work would be very friendly and ready to help, unfortunately it was the total opposite, I would put it down to a moral issue within the resort, from the reception staff to the kitchen crews. Have never experienced anything like it. With regards to the resort, shortage of clean pool towels, very tired rooms, several pool timber pool lounges we used could not be adjusted due to broken catches and our aircon wasn’t working in our room for 3 out of the 4 days, we were offered 2 free drinks voucher which was good but unfortunate the ac didn’t work. The breakfast at the resort was substantial with a good choice of fresh and prepared food. Overall very disappointing and would not recommend staying here again, on reflection the staff we found the friendliest were the maintenance crews who attempted to solve the ac issue and were extremely sorry. On check out, again staff dismissive with no real apology or acknowledgement of our issue with the ac. We have traveled the world and this is up there for the worst location we have stayed. Choose a better resort than what we did when planning your visit to Pt Douglas.

We stayed here two weekends ago. Checking in and out were both a breeze, despite the fact that there was a queue of five parties in front of us when we arrived. This resort is on the main drag into Port Douglas, so it's very easy to find. The pool is stunning, and our room didn't disappoint. The meals are to die for: arranged almost like a buffet, but with the chefs behind the counters ready to cook just what and how you request your food. Our bed was massive. Excellent bar staff: attentive, professional and knowledgeable. The bathroom was well-appointed. Housekeeping was discreet. I'd stay there again.

I will start off by saying we booked a 3 night luxury escapes package. After i booked it I regretted it as there were so many negative reviews on here and I also saw an article on the daily mail about how bad the resort has gotten.. apparently it’s up for sale. We went ahead with our booking and hoped for the best... Check in was fine girl at the desk gave us what we needed and I thought this might be ok. Room was a one bedroom villa. It smelt when we walked in like a damp smell but there was also a cigarette type smell lingering. We opened the doors for a bit to let it air. Room seemed fairly clean, beds comfortable. Not much space in bathroom to put your things and no storage in shower so you have to put your face wash etc on the floor. In the morning got up for breakfast and it seemed to go down hill from there.. we were the only ones there apart from another couple. Girl was completely unhelpful didn’t say we could sit anywhere she just walked off and so I said so ‘we just sit anywhere?’ Couldn’t find the tea bags (she didn’t ask if we wanted coffee either) I had to ask where tea was she just said round the corner, I found it but could only see earl grey and peppermint so had to go back again and ask for green tea she said ‘oh it’s the one with no label’ Not sure how people are meant to know that??? The actual tea bag had no label either. Nothing was replenished and what was there looked average. Got an omelette from a man who looked quite old and very slow. Don’t have a problem with him working but very frustrated standing there waiting to be served while he is off doing his own thing. Even the omelette was average hardly any filling or egg. Couldn’t find any bowls for fruit etc. Girl who was unhelpful looked uninterested and looked unprofessional with a jacket half hanging off her. Tables weren’t getting cleared. Later that day we returned to our room after being out to find our room still wasn’t made up. We had showers and got ready for dinner. House keeping knocked on the door while my husband was in the shower, by this time it was 5pm... seemed late to be making up rooms and inconvenient time as well when people are probably back in their rooms. I let them in as we wanted room made up but it was just awkward with my husband standing in the room in his towel. Had dinner on the first night had tacos which were nice. We wouldn’t stay here again!

QT – trendy hotel – customer service good – accuracy not so A really trendy boutique hotel with a lovely pool and a live singer on a Sunday. Unfortunately whilst the staff are really friendly and great, the accuracy of some things leave a lot to be desired. Instances included my daughter needing a room with a bath (disability) – had then to move from her assigned room as it only had a shower. Daughter ordered gluten free food, ate it believing it to be so, only to have her order brought out (they had brought her someone else’s!) – a few medical problems – which could have been very serious to someone else followed – this is really not good and could have had terrible consequences. That said, the rooms are beautiful, the views really neat and a great place if they can just get their act together.

I love the QT brand and have stayed at a few QT locations. QT Port Douglas has the same fun resort vibe, the pool and bar is relaxing and the staff mostly friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately the rooms themselves need a lot of work as does the poolside furniture. If you are used to the standard of the other QT hotels such as the Gold Coast, you will likely be disappointed. But if you go with a relaxed open mind you will still have a fun time. And if you make the most of all the great things there are to do in FNQ you won't spend much time in your room anyway.

Rooms were ok but house keeping was very average, had to ask for toilet paper twice in a week! Buffet breakfast was average, full of oil and more often than not food was either burnt or completely undercooked! Overall resort is fairly run down.
