The room was not ocean view, but it was nicely decorated, with a gas fireplace, fridge, and microwave. The bedding was comfy, with great pillows. Staff was super friendly. The grounds are amazing, with perfect views of the ocean. The pathway along the cliffs is the big draw, in our eyes. The pool area is small, with no real spot to lounge within the confines of the fenced in area. But there are chairs nearby along the cliffs to sit. We enjoyed our stay.

The staff was great, they upgraded our room to an ocean view room and it was fantastic! My wife loved the view and the fire pit was right outside our back door. We spent the evening and morning by the fire pit enjoying the views. We had a great stay and are planning to come back again.

Cottage Inn by the Sea is a gem in Pismo Beach and a place my family and I have been coming back to for years. The oceanfront rooms are hard to beat, and having multiple fire pits (usually 3–4 available) right along the shore makes evenings there extra special. One of the best recent upgrades is the addition of A/C in every room, such a nice bonus and definitely appreciated. The staff is always super friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the experience. They also offer a great selection of complimentary beach gear like chairs, frisbees, footballs, volleyballs, and more, making it easy to enjoy a full day at the beach without bringing everything yourself. It’s a relaxing, family-friendly spot with an unbeatable location. We’ll definitely keep coming back.
