If you are looking for a hotel near bangla road could find better: the managment is not friendly and there are many better accomodation for your deals. If don't interest bangla road but you think that tropica is a good location front of the beach be careful: till 3 am music bangla road'bars is unbearable. There are many better locations in front of the beach! The hotel's restaurant: this is so funny... hotel managment give you a 20% discount card for eating in the hotel's restaurant, so when you use they apply the discount on the normal price (that normally someone pay) and then charge 10% for service and 7% for vat....
Fabulous place in the heart of Patong. Across from the grubby Patong Beach and Bangla Road. The resort is very quiet considering the proximity to the liveliest street in Patong. Cleanliness is a key factor, the staff do an amazing job to maintain cleanliness of the rooms and grounds including the pool.
The Tropica Resort is located on the corner of Bangla Road and Beach Road in Phuket, the location is fantastic. The staff were very friendly and the rooms are some of the best I have stayed it. The bed linen is fun and vibrant, special mention for that. The only negative is the noise from Bangla Road, this didn't bother me as I am a good sleeper. However, if you are a light sleeper you might want to stay further away from Bangla Road.
Surprisingly peaceful considering the location. Beautiful tropical gardens surrounding each bungalow. Clean and well maintained. Pool was clean and being from Australia I appreciated the shade trees around the pool. At night we could only just hear Bangla Road ( rooms 23 & 24) and our sleep was not disturbed. Stayed 9 nights. Wifi and TV reception was good. Lots of little birds and a few squirrels in the trees.
This resort is right behind Bangla road, so at night it was a bit noisy. But it is nice and really tropical resort, for a reasonable price. Breakfast could be more choices, was just average breakfast. Rooms clean and comfy, big shower. Hotel provides big and nice towels for pool and beach, which i liked. Thank you.
Left Bangkok and stayed here for three nights but originally only booked one night then extended it after the good experience. Had a blast, short but sweet. Prime location to the beach, restaurants, and night life. If you want to just relax and avoid the hustle and bustle you can do so by the pool. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. Especially those at reception. They took the time to actually look at the sign-in forms, and noticed that it was my birthday. I was provided with a lovely surprise. Along with that they took the time to call places we wanted to book for excursions and even our ferry over to Phi Phi island. I would be giving this place a 5 star rating but the breakfast wasn't the greatest. However, it definitely gives you the fuel you need to start the day. I highly recommend it! Breakdown.. Pros: Location Room decor and comfort Pool Free wifi Daily cleaning Beach towels Customer service Cons: Sewer, and other smells by the restaurant Breakfast (if you pay) but decent for included Wifi (you have to sign into multiple locations) and the strength isn't the greatest but definitely good enough for what you need. Noise can be considered one if you are sensitive to it but it's not too bad. Especially when you are out all day in the sun and if you go out at night. You will sleep right through it.
This was my third stay at this property (total of 18 nights) so obviously I've liked the place and will definitely be returning!! The place is very basic but clean and comfortable. This property is all about LOCATION. The beach and Soi Bangla are just a stones throw away. However the rooms on the side closer to Soi Bangla can get a bit noisy till the wee hours of the morning. The breakfast and seafood in the restaurant was great, just don't compare it with Europe!! Plenty of dining options, FamilyMarts and ATM available within 2-3minutes walking distance. The staff is extremely polite and helpful, as is the case in almost all Thai Hotels. The laundry service was reasonably priced. For those who cribbed about mosquitoes, please remember this is a tropical island, not Europe!! I was there for Songkran, a local festival, very similar to the Holi we have in India in mid April and thoroughly enjoyed myself. They do levy a "Joiner Fee" if you bring someone back for the night, however I was allowed one "joiner" free per night on my last two stays. Over all a solid thumbs up to the hotel staff and management for making my stay a truly memorable one. I'm already planning my next trip for October end.
I had a comfortable stay in Tropica Resort during the peak time of the year. It is just opposite the beach. I had booked for Double room initially but found it little dull on check in and requested to re-book us in a better room. Luckily there was availability so I shifted to Superior room- staff was helpful in doing that. Resort very close to Bangla street and as other reviewers mentioned before we could also hear music in our room but it wasn't bad. So unless you don't need pin drop silence, it should be fine. Breakfast was decent and pool was clean. I inquired with the staff on various day trips and took their advice on one of the tours. I would suggest to out in market (since there are plenty of options) and see what you want. I didn't like the tour I went for. Anyhow, it shouldn't reflect on this resort's stars and that's why I am giving 4 stars.
I'd rather give it 4 and a half stars. Only because the breakfast wasn't as good as it could have been. It is simple, filling but could be better. I stayed 2 weeks and only made it to breakfast 3 times. Maybe if it was better I would have made an effort to show up. The only slight negative for this place. The room was great, I just booked a standard and it was perfect. Bed was very comfortable. I had a partner with me every night and couldn't have been better. Staff kept it clean daily and would make any extra effort for any request you made. Bathroom was good, walk in shower is always a plus. Perfect for two people. Pool is great. Good shade. Location is the best in patong. Can't be it. The noise from Bangla didn't bother me a bit, rooms are well built. I was probably out there making the noise. Staff is great, friendly and helpful. If I ever go back to patong I will always stay here, just don't pay for the breakfast lol. Highly recommended.....
Right in the middle of the action, but private enough to chill and relax. The room I was in was fairly basic, but in the heart of patong it's more of a pit stop than a place to spend time exclusively. Walking out of the driveway puts you right on the beach, with heaps of activities to enjoy.
