Had a 2 bedroom apartment for 10 days. The staff were so helpful, the Manager Peter Jones went above and beyond to make our stay fabulous, the food was out this world...what a breakfast...the reception staff to the cleaning staff couldn't do enough for us. Thanks guys.. THE BEST IN PHUKET xxxxx
Visited The Chava with my family - 2 adults and 2 children (13 & 11). This is a great place to stay. Friendly staff, huge rooms and very clean facilities. Close to a beautiful beach, good places to eat and a convenience store. Staff couldnt help enough, booked tours for us and gave great advice on places to visit. Everyone in our family agree that we would definately come back to visit again.
Everything from our booking experience to the location of the property to the size of the rooms - and especially the amazing service from the staff - made our time at the Chava amazing. Definitely a place we would return to.
The two bedroom unit we stayed in was truly large and well designed. Everything worked well and air conditioning was able to be independently used in three areas of this huge apartment. Peter the manager was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about this location and what to see and do. We loved the fresh food and well prepared delicious meals on site with plenty of choices on the menu. I really loved the cappuccino coffee, it's up with the best that I have had in Australia. The Staff were so friendly and keen to meet any request. Such a peaceful place with all the greenery around a generous pool and spa. Definitely would go back the next time we are in Phuket.
We had a double room on the first 3rd floor. Huge spacious area, light filled. The main bathroom had large bath and adjoining shower. The lounge had a lovely balcony and we filled with natural sunlight. Pool perfect, staff cheerful, helpful and competent. This is our second stay at The Chava and we highly recommend this hotel.
We are just back from an excellent 3 nights stay. Apartment was very spacious and clean. Staff were helpful, friendly and non-intrusive. Service was quick and efficient. We were able to get a very late check out without any hassle which was very nice. Pool was nice and restaurant was very good. Definitely recommend this resort for other couples/families, happy to go back ourselves!
Such a lovely place to stay so friendly and helpful, the food was fantastic and the beers by the pool where icy cold, very peaceful place to retreat to after exploring a busy hot Phuket. Love the luxurious two bedroom apartment room with plenty of space. The room was so quite and cool for us westerners, You couldn't hear when it rained The Chava's local restaurants recommendations where absolutely great and comforting to know you could trust there judgment. We will be back for sure. Great work Peter Jones and staff you where awesome hosts.
As an experienced traveler from the USA I can say this hotel was very disappointing. We stayed 5 days,4 nights. When my family and I arrived everything seemed ok for about 10 minutes until the first negative experience happened when a curtain broke in the room. We didn't think much of it at the time, but little did we know it was just the start of a series of unfortunate events. The food here is really terrible. Every morning you get a complimentary breakfast in which the omelets are very undercooked and runny and have no flavor. I ordered a steak sandwich that was honestly terrible, and the texture of the meat was hard and rubbery. The burgers are no better either, in which they're far too thick and massive to eat without performing surgery on the burger. I also ordered fish and chips..see below regarding that story. ***The hotel has a massive amount of bugs and on the very first day we noticed a ton of ants and a HUGE WASP in the livingroom of our room which is completely unacceptable. Unfortunately every single day there has been more and more large ants showing up in our room(especially the dining room and living room) and we never even left the living room door open, so that should not happen and not sure how they got there. Poolside service is literally a joke and nonexistent. I ordered the fish and chips(which were gross and the skin was left on the fish and the batter was dry) and got a TINY amount of tartar sauce. We were sitting on the opposite side of the restaurant near the pool and no server ever came back to check on us at any time after we recieved our food(after waiting 20 minutes or so). I wanted more sauce and I had to get up myself and walk relatively far to just request more sauce. This is the definition of poor service and lacking in skill in hospitality. The restaurant is literally right by the pool and not once did any of the servers ever come check on us after i received the food. Never seen that before. The air conditioning is almost impossible to figure out in this room as each room has seperate climate control, even though there isn't a control meter in each room, so we still dont' know how to control the temperature in the master room vs the living room( Do I really have to call reception about everything? Or should it just simply be intuitiive?) No Thai tea is served anywhere at the hotel when it is one of the most popular drinks in Thailand, we had to constantly leave the hotel to get anything we needed. The hotel does NOT have a gym so you have to pay 400 baht per day to use the gym at the hotel next door. The hotel likes to bait and switch you with charges such as charging money for the large water bottles they stock in your room, when giving you the smaller bottles with the same label for free. The restaurant food has very high service charges + VAT taxes added on(whereas if you eat outside the restaurant there are no taxes and service fees). The demeanor of the employees at the restaurant is not welcoming at all, as the evening server especially never smiled once when we were there. We have stayed at many top resorts and it was noticeably different in terms of the 'friendliness' factor here at the restaurant. **It appears either the GM Peter Jones or someone at the hotel is trying to erase my review of this hotel as this is the third time I've had to post my review. It's 1000% verifiable that I stayed at this hotel and paid money so you better not try pulling that stunt again. You don't deserve to have my review deleted and I will report you if it happens again.**
Recently had a very relaxing and indulgent week and a bit, at the Chava Resort at Surin Beach, Phuket From the moment we stepped into the oversized and luxurious two bedroom apartment, our expectations were always being exceeded. It didn’t stop whether it was the service staff at reception, the pool and restaurant, cleaning, maintenance, security or drivers everyone was genuinely hospitable, interested in assisting and generous with their time. With facilities like that and staff that dedicated, it’s no wonder we had such an indulgent and relaxing time
We stayed 4 nights at the Chava coming from Australia. The resort has a nice pool and reception area. The greeting was friendly and the staff were helpful when we arrived. The resort is kept in superb condition with great amenities. We booked a superior family suite which was more like an apartment than a 2 bedroom hotel room. So we were really happy. OK now for the negative and I'm giving my most honest review.... Breakfast!! The first day we went downstairs to a packed breakfast area which is located beside the swimming pool. You order off the menu (alacart) instead of a buffet style which is fine. However we ordered together and waited and waited for about 25 minutes until we started getting parts of our orders coming out in drips and drabs. My wife and I ordered Lattes and received normal coffees without Milk i had to ask for milk and then again ask for sugar and a spoon. I could appreciate that it was busy and it was around 8:00am with most people in the resort having breakfast at the same time. But it felt more like a rushed cafe than a relaxing breakfast at a resort. The poor restaurant manager was run of her feet trying to get the orders out. The second day was worse than the first due to the weather which is not the resorts fault however the seats were wet as the breakfast area isn't really covered the tables just have umbrellas etc. We ordered again off the menu and again we had dribs and drabs and I waited 40 minutes for a cheese omelette after I ate some of the kids pancakes which had been burnt and were not great. I booked a standard room on booking.com for the novotel (next door) for 4 people including breakfast for the remaining 2 days it was dirt cheap just so we could use the buffet there!! All in all we loved the room loved the location loved the resort. And was really clean and tidy. In would definitely stay there again and would recommend to other travelers. I only ask the Chava management to read my review and take it on board when it comes to the dinning facilities. My wife and I both work in hospitality as managers back in Australia and felt the standard of the dining to be very poor this really needs to be a major key component of your business as people are paying for this standard.
