We stayed here for 9 days. The location is great - across the road from the beach. Upon arrival, the lobby is very impressive. We chose the pool side room which was great. Direct access to the pool was perfect. The room was modern and very comfortable. The staff were very nice, the manager was helpful, he introduced himself and was interested to know if our stay was going well. Over all, the Ramada is a very nice place and we enjoyed our stay. Negatives : our room was perfect but overall the place needs a bit of maintenance. The pool area is looking tired and the seats need replacing. The lighting around the pool needs attention , many globes weren't working and the light shades are rusting. The dining room needs attention as panes of glass were missing from bi - fold doors and the timber is rotting. House keeping was excellent and the lady always did a superb job cleaning our room but times were very inconsistent. We went to breakfast at approx 9.30 everyday for 9 days. I thought it may have been a good idea to come to our room when we were at breakfast . There did not seem to be a logical pattern for when she came. The Ramada is beautiful and a relaxing haven away from the hectic streets. I hope they get on top of the renovations so the place remains an above average place to enjoy a very nice holiday.

I stayed at Ramada Southsea in July 2017, This place is heads and shoulders above other property I booked. Staff is very helpful, especially SCOTT, who is wonderful at his job. All rooms are nice, but the upgrade room is worth the cost. The free breakfast is decent for the price ( free/included). Karon is a great place to stay compared to Patong which is like a madhouse. I am so glad I moved my stay to Karon.

Today we visited Ramada at Karon beach and finding it's one of the worst service. Person "Ryan" doesn't know how to talk to people. Before selecting this hotel fir your holidays please think 100 times.

Nice hotel. Located in Karon Beach, not as famous as Pathong beach but more cozy. Just walk outsite the hotel and we will reach a beautiful white sand beach to walking around. Nice and warm staff. The hotel manager Mr Eak is a friendly man to talk. Good and fresh food. Cozy big clean room with affordable price. Choose room with swimming pool view. Will come back again someday

So me and my girlfriend came here in January and would definitely be coming back if we ever go to Karon again. Friendly staff and tidy rooms the food is all good especially the room service. With a 40 meter walk to the beach at the most . Thanks Tom h Birmingham

Stayed here for 3 nights and the location is strategic and a stone throw away from eatery shops, public transportation and the beautiful Karon beach. We stayed in a Premium room and the room is spacious and everything in working condition. The set back is the bath towel they provide daily is torn at the side and it looks like the resort is running out of towels or they didn't changed towels for ages. The room attendance is not so well trained as the makeup bed is not properly done as like someone has used it. The floor is not properly vacuum as i can feel there are sand on it The restaurant breakfast selection is average. The shortfall on one morning breakfast the watermelon fruits at the counter is rotten. I took a piece and I immediately split it out and notified the waiting staff. Overall the service delivery at the resort need to be improve. It is a good property and the location is fantastic. The staffs English communication needs to be improve and during my stay I didn't notice any management staffs around overlooking the staffs performance or attend to guests needs or feedback. With some effort i think this is a good resort

Horrible service Front desk staff was dizzy and confused about everything...especially trying to find our reservation... Took a good half hour just to check us in... Staff was so un-knowledgeable ... even the simplest questions we would get the reply " I don't know " & "We can't help you with that" Don't expect any sort of guidance or answer ... Esp. How to get a taxi and/or is there anywhere good to eat around here... even getting towels was nonsense 4x of asking in person and on the phone. After being told that they couldn't help with calling/ hailing a taxi... Since we were having so much trouble ... One of the staff members took pitty on us... this gentleman named Wong went out of his way to flag down one and negotiated pricing for us... Room- Not bad... had a private balcony which was nice My sheets did have a huge hole in them but besides that room was good Entire hotel needs to be updated and fixed... old looking and painting chipping and such... -close to 7/11 and on the main street - crazy area busy tourist area walking on streets -90% of the hotel guests were Russians

I stayed here for 4 nights in a ‘Club’ room, it was school holidays and this hotel was great value. I'm giving this a rating of 4 due to the amazing value of money, but they do come with some compromises see below. What was fab? * Value for money * Spacious and Modern room * Large pool and handy pool bar * Small in size overall * Overnight staff were great (especially when I forgot my key) What was drab? * Using the word ‘Club’ I think is a little cheeky, as it really isn’t like other hotel clubs etc, the room was definitely nice but I haven't stayed at this property before so I can’t compare room types. * Club rooms are right on the pool so can be a little noisy in the day, even early on, but they do shut the pool down for the evening. * Club benefits were not explained to me on check-in * Staff were generally friendly but not always helpful to a level you would expect, some further training and more staff on hand would rectify this. What can't easily be changed? * This is more a hotel than a resort, if you are looking for a resort this should not be your pick in Karon Beach Other suggestions * I would suggest having more ‘Club’ features in the room, like free mini bar etc, rather than a separate place to go. Would I stay here again? * I would if the price was right, not my first pick, but comfortable, cheap. clean and close to other resorts, so great if your family or friends are staying somewhere near by and you want to save some money (then you can use their facilities as well, cheeky cheeky I know but worked well for me)

Stayed here for duration of our stay. First immersion tells us not a hotel to be in but as paid for it had no alternative. On arrival was asked if we had booked the hotel it was worrying but then they found booking.Issues with communication as staff lack communication issue. Requires refurbishing. Only advantage it's in front of the beach.

We booked a week stay here because being a Ramada we thought the place would be of a good standard. Naturally the photos looked great, so why not? We arrived and the place is in a truly great location. Check in was fine and we were given a room overlooking the pool - all was good. We felt claustrophobic as you are facing your neighbour on the other side of the pool, maybe no more 40-50 ft away. Early in the morning we were woken by the busy kitchen in the next hotel which started dropping saucepans on the floor from around 5am. Then at 6am we got the "Double whammy" of what sounded like someone banging a large hammer in front of us by the pool. It was the following day, we realised that the hotel is in a terrible state of disrepair, it shames the Ramada chain. The hammering was caused by all the floor boards surrounding the pool lifting, so when people walk around it, the boards bang up and down. I should point out the pool area is tiny, has little shade & we were not able to use it once whilst "serving our sentence" here. We asked for another room away from the pool and were given an inferior room but at least away from the banging & crashing. We walked in and smelt a faint drain smell but thought nothing more. Anyway that evening we turned on the air conditioning which started belching out the sickening stench of a drain. It was like they had placed the inlet unit inside a sewer. We complained (Yawn) and they said they'd send an engineer to sort it out. The stench then transformed back into more of a "smell". A bit like sitting by a canal in which people throw old bicycles & garbage, unpleasant but not unbearable. I asked a fellow "inmate" further up the block and he agreed that, "Sometimes it smells". So there is obviously a major problem which needs investigation. The room itself was of of a standard you'd expect to find in a hostel. (The air con drain stench did return with a vengeance after a storm). The sink in the bathroom moved from side to side precariously and the same puddle appeared on the floor every day, God knows from where and 2 out of 3 of the mains sockets in the room were not functioning, a bit awkward if you have phones & computers. We didn't bother informing reception about this as we'd got tired of doing so by now, instead we decided to stop "Slumming it" and check out 2 days early nearly. The sheets and towels had various holes, and frayed edges on them making the overall look very dated. My final gripe was the dreadful WiFi. Of all the things the Ramada could do - that wouldn't cost a lot - but they could proudly say, "We at least got this right" is a decent internet connection. But of course this was not so. The system is from the Stone Age, a time when bandwidth was expensive, a time when people had simple Nokia phones. In those days they gave you a scrap of paper with a code, this would give you "3 days access" which was fine. But, yep, you guessed it, just like the old days they were giving out scraps of paper! With today's smart phones, the data ran out so fast that my pockets were stuffed with bits of paper with these stupid codes on them. You'd be trying to send an email and then get bumped off. On top of this, the actual WiFi signal itself is appalling, so if you have teenage children, it will not be long before they drag you across the road & string you up from a coconut tree in rage at NOT BEING ABLE TO DO ANYTHING ONLINE. My wife took a photo of me perched outside the room sitting on a step in a vain attempt to get a signal, pathetic in this day & age. The breakfast - the layout is awful so people are pushing and shoving to get their bits and pieces. The breakfast itself was ok, but compared to the Ramada in Bangkok, appalling. Tiny flies are all over the fresh fruit - yuk. There are also a flock of wild birds perched in the eaves that swoop down and grab food lying on peoples plates is all very charming for bird fanciers & children squeal with delight, until you remember that Avian flu is still very much rife in Asia at this time!!!!! I must say the staff were very friendly & helpful at all times. A bit like the crew of the Titanic, in charge of a sinking ship, saluting to the passengers (us) as the ship goes down! So how do the Ramada get away with running this shoddy place at such exorbitant prices, approx £726 for 8 days. The answer faces you out the front. The lovely beach is just across the road. In spite of this, we would NEVER stay here again in its present state, even if it was offered for free! Believe it or not they say this dump is a FOUR STAR HOTEL! If this is true then the Intercontinental in Bangkok must be worth 100 STARS not a mere 5 STARS! Message to Ramada CEO-You should be ashamed of yourself!
