Amazing resort with very friendly and helpful staff. Great service and livley atmosphere. Close to everything you would possibly want to see or do in patong. 5min walk from bangla and 10min walk from jungcylon. The restaurant was always buzy and lively at dinner and we ate there most nights because the food and service was so good. We loved the exceptional service by the pool were you could eat and drink and we were always checked on by the staff incase we needed more drinks. We would definitely stay at baan lai mai again. Plus...good price for a decent resort!
Stayed here in two deluxe seaview rooms from 21/12/17 to 3/1/18 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were very friendly. Plenty to choose from for breakfast, and my husband really like the pancake machine. My son wanted French toast every morning and Alex was kind enough to make sure the chef cooked him some up. The room was spacious and cleaned daily. The pool was very clean and plenty of chairs to accommodate guests. We have already booked to come back on 10/8/18 to 21/8/18 and looking forward to staying here again. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay an enjoyable one. See you again in August.
After 5years in the Travel industry this is my first review left and I had to do it in order to prevent anyone else getting overcharged or potentially a nightmare holiday - WORD OF ADVICE DO NOT BOOK DIRECT WITH THIS HOTEL!!! As a travel agent myself I booked this trip on behalf of my clients and direct via hotel website due to not having a contract via wholesale ( I now understand why no wholesale has a contract with them) .... upon processing payment on credit card through their website I received confirmation as normal. I forward this to the hotels reservations team to be safe reconfirming payment and room is confirmed back on Aug 13th. 4 months later and less than 2 weeks from the check in dates (24Dec-2nd Jan) I received an email saying they double booked our room and can only offer a refund (you can imagine how sold out/high prices Phuket is for these dates!) Upon battling back and forth making phone calls to Phuket I finally got them to reinstate the correct upgraded room as originally booked. I was happy with the result until the hotel requested payment, as per their booking terms page it states payment will be processed upon receiving confirmation - This never happened and hotel advised they decided they would collect payment locally which resulted in being $200 over charged due to the currency change since August. Obviously I disputed and only processed payment for the original amount back in Aug - Hotel team has zero customer relation skills and simply did not accept, offer explanation and told me to pay or we will cancel reservation. Ended up paying in end as the hotel cleary does not have training in customer service nor care about their guests stays by cancelling and attempted overcharge - I honestly believe the hotel cancelled the booking thinking I would roll over and accept a refund/lower category room so they could sell our upgraded room off at a premium rate the week before Xmas holidays!! - all emails suggest this from my experience! In summary please do not provide the hotel business directly as they are a freaking nightmare and have no care factor! Book via a third party supplier so you have a safety net - in this example I have covered the difference as a business expense as its simply bulls&it to think this charge could be passed onto a client or guest I will not do that AS this is how all customer service business should do. If the hotel management had of provided a better solution or simply offered some sort of care factor towards their guests this would of ended differently but now I have resorted to a silly review just to ensure more people avoid the 10+ hours of headaches and almost ruined holiday! Book with an agent or atleast a third party site!!!!
We didn't give your staffs tips, then there was no new paper at the washroom and two bottles water in the second day . I don't know if it is normal. In all,we were satisfied with your resort and your services.
Breakfast had lots of variety and changed options on our 3rd day and again on our 5th so to say it's always the same like some reviews said is not true. Location is 10 minutes from Bangla road, you wouldn't want to be any closer to all the chaos and noise. Hotel's New Years gala food spread was outstanding. Entertainment and service was great too. Drink prices are reasonable. Pool was always kept clean. I would highly recommend this hotel.
Cockroaches were in the room, the room service never comes till we called 2-4 times at least...(and I found they do not do proper cleaning when I was in the room), poor wifi...restaurant staffs can be more friendly though it's the busiest time of the year (NYE/ After NY). I liked the spacious room, consider quiet though it's NY time (outside is noisy for fire works and ppl) and pool, pool bar, and their drinks!
This was our third visit to Phuket and our first time at the baan lamai resort. We arrived at 10 in the morning and check in was exceptionally smooth - our room was ready in 10 minutes! We had a pool access room and were given vouchers that entitled us to unlimited free drinks at the pool bar from 5-6 every day which was amazing. The room had traditional Thai touches but a modern feel and was bigger than I expected. The location was great - right across from the beach and a 10 minutes walk to the shopping mall/Bangla road. Breakfast fulfilled all our needs. Staff were helpful and cheerful and always put a smile on our faces. We ate by the pool a few times and the meals were great. I would have given this hotel 5 stars if it wasn’t for a few inconveniences: - water in shower does not get hot, only lukewarm and bad pressure -smell of sewerage in our first few days - bed is hard (standard in asia, the pillows are comfortable and you do get used to it) - construction going on outside our room all day disturbed the peace a bit - live band at the restaurant goes until midnight this is a plus generally as you can chill on your balcony and listen to them however if you want to sleep can be disturbing. I would recommend a room at the furthest building away from the restaurant for this reason Overall we did have a fantastic day and would recommend this hotel
Staying for two weeks, first week busy, Christmas & New year, but calming down now. Easy access to all the patong nightlife and tours with very attentative staff. Food is good, reasonable price. Rooms are clean and the place is undergoing renovation.
I usually don’t write reviews, but I felt compelled seeing how bad this property was. The minute I walked on to the property it just felt old and dingy, and this was at midnight where you couldn’t really see anything. Checkin was almost embarrassing I was almost immediately the manager came over and handed me a contract to sign with all the possible fees. The fees were ridiculous… One being 300 bwhy for a lost room key card. And all the many years I’ve traveled I’ve never heard of a hotel charging for a last room key card. That’s pretty pathetic and all the many years I have traveled I’ve never heard of a hotel charging for a lost room key card. That’s pretty pathetic. Rooms and bathrooms were rather disgusting and old feeling. Shower had mold and mildew in lots of places. The next morning when I could actually see the grounds, it was extremely disappointing. Again everything just felt old, worn out and dingy. Not very resort like at all. A few months back I stayed next door at the Holiday Inn Resort and it was WORLDS better. I understand that this resort is on the cheaper side but you have to wonder at what point the cheaper cost is actually worth it. Baan Lamai is definitely not Pictures won’t really tell how dirty the bathroom felt but I attached some of the shower anyways
I will never be able to find anything negative about Baanlaimai. It is the best beach resort I have stayed in till date. The rooms are super comfortable with pool view balcony and shower cubicles. The swimming pool is awesome with a poolbar. The breakfast menu is never ending with cuisines from all over the world. Just loved this place would always stay here whenever in Phuket. Oh and their Wi-Fi connection is pretty strong also
