Our room never got cleaned even after 2 requests.
If you have kids and want a vacation that will appeal to everyone, this is it.
Great location. Very clean and safe. Spendy but worth it.
My family loved this hotel! Awesome location, awesome pools, great staff and very comfortable bed and pillows! Room was very well laid out and we want to go back!
Hotel was older & needs updating. Staff was very friendly and accommodating but we were disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. Found toys & food left from previous guests and then killed a cockroach in the room.
This is a beautiful resort with a lot of fun things to do for children. I was there with my husband and teenage son and we didn't go to River Ranch or eat at any of the on-site restaurants. We preferred the pool by the lobby. It was quiet, there were always chairs, and Julie the bar attendant was awesome! I looked forward to seeing her smiling face every day. She was very friendly and attentive and made us feel welcome. The gift shops were nice but expensive as most hotel gift shops are. This is not a luxurious modern resort. It's a bit outdated but still beautiful, quiet, and family-friendly. It's really beautiful at night! We didn't spend that much time there anyway...we were too busy doing other things. The location is wonderful...close to shopping, hiking, mountain climbing, and restaurants. We did have to move rooms on our last night because our sink backed up and overflowed, but the staff was very apologetic and helpful. It was no big deal. The rooms could use new furniture but again we didn't spend much time in our room at all.
Loved the room the pool and the weather! Kids thought water slide was slow and boring but we enjoyed it all!
Was in Arizona for a conference in downtown. Squaw Peak seems like a Lovely Hotel from online. It was clean and a decent-sized room. Could have done with a better View, our overlooked catering halls fan. Wasn't extremely happy about Resort fees for amenities you may not use. But I would recommend it for families. It's a nice place if you're taking children.
The first room was horrible so I requested a different room. The second room was marginally better. The furniture was dirty and worn out. I would not sit on the couch. It had spots all over it. The towels were so old that they were thread bare. These should have been replaced long ago. The house keeping staff did not speak English. The pool that was supposed to be heated was cold as ice. I would never stay here again nor would I recommend this hotel to anyone. I requested a 5-star hotel and this one isn't that at all.
Had a good stay. Enjoyed the views and liked the close access to airport and nearby food. Food and drink at hotel/resort were overpriced.
We enjoyed relaxing around the pool. This hotel is definitely oriented for families with kids more than couples. Lots of kiddos were running around, and we needed to change rooms because we had a little screamer next door to us the first night.
Staff very friendly. We were a little disappointed in water ranch. Expecting a waterpark not one single slide. Mini golf was fun, but should be 9 holes. Several holes share the same green patch.
We were a little bit dissapointed because the lazy river was closed. Pools need a little bit of care, but other than that was nice
We were there in the off season (mid December) and had a wonderful stay. The weather was awesome, the place was decorated for Christmas and the pools were not crowded. Got a couple of great meals at Ricos (including Breakfast with Santa), though we didn't get a chance to try the other restaurant (Hole in the Wall). The room was spacious (suite with 2 queens and a pullout couch) and clean, but just about average in amenities. It had a little back patio with a view of the mountains (albeit partially blocked). I also liked the fitness center, which is included with the resort fee. Overall, a great location to use as home base for a vacation in Phoenix.
The hotel needs remodeling. Expensive for the quality.
We booked an airfare & hotel deal online. After we checked out we saw the $26 additional daily resort fee charge that was not explained to us when we checked in. We thought it was optional if we wanted to use the resort facilities that we didn't plan on using except for internet service. The internet service was not active so we paid for it separately thinking that it wasn't included because we didn't opt in for the resort fee. They did remove the additional internet fee after we mentioned that they charged us for both the resort fee and the internet service.
When my husband, and I checked in, the room we were given was did not reflect the room that was shown on line. It was VERY small, the carpet was dirty, and the bathroom door was a pocket door, that did not close completely. I called the front desk asking to be moved to a room that reflected the room that they show on their website. I was told that they were completely sold out for that night, however, they could move us the following night. We had no choice other than to accept this. The following day, we were moved to a room that was just as the room they advertise on their website. The following nights were very comfortable. I was told that they would compensate with a voucher for the restaurant on site, however, they did not follow through with this offer.
i used to stay at this resort as much as possible when i worked in the corporate world. went back with my family and was really disappointed in how much it has declined in the 16 years since i was last there.
After my second stay at the casitas I loved it even more than before. I can't see myself staying anywhere else for my yearly trip back home. I just wish their rules for kids in the lazy river was a little bit more strict. Go in the pool if you want to mess around, we are trying to relax!!!
We came here for a conference and stayed longer since the place is so nice and relaxing.
