We were dubious about staying at this hotel given previous reviews. We booked based on the location and that we would not be spending that much time there due to doing a scuba course for half of our stay. We had booked a deluxe room and were staying on the 2nd floor. The room looked fresh and did not have any damp smell. The bathroom was a little retro but was large and clean. The bedding and towels were all very fresh and of a pretty good quality. I bought a mosquito plug for the room and did notice one or two got in every day after the room had been cleaned. I didn't find the balcony or outside particularly bad however we had just come from elephant hills where we got eaten alive. The grounds of the hotel are tired and in need of repair. At a glance you wouldn't notice and it looks ok but you soon notice the flaws. Each day there were workman painting but it really could do with areas if not the whole resort shutting for a period for extensive renovations. The pools were quite nice but the main family pool had a heavy film of grease, I assume from suncream so we avoided this, the one up the steps was nice and clear. The breakfast buffet had the usual selection but was all adequate. The coffee - which you got yourself from a machine was certainly nicer than most places I have stayed. We never had to wait for a table for breakfast and these staff were very efficient. The staff who were present later when trying to get drinks or snacks were a lot slower and had less enthusiasm. Overall we enjoyed our stay however if I were to come to Khao Lak and were planning on spending more time at the hotel I would probably look for somewhere a bit newer and fresher. Overall we enjoyed our stay, may be we were fortunate with our room but we were very comfortable.
Centara Seaview is located in a beautiful setting. It is so picturesque, the breakfast is served on the edge of the beach in palm and a tree that shed white flowers that smell like lilacs. The water is a beautiful clear aqua and the beach has a fine sand and gradual slope so you can wade out rather far from shore. The service was excellent, the accommodations were very tasteful and comfortable. The pools are beautiful. However, the water slide needed some wax or something because swimmers sometimes slowed to a stop. We were there, in part on vacation and also in support of a conference day-care program. We had a great time and wished we could have stayed longer.
Room was humid but only for sleep was 50% ok Beach great. Staff very Friendli. Place was ok to Stay. You get what You Pay for. But we go Back next Year. And we take the a bungalo with personal Pool. Cu soon in February 2019
Picked up from airport on time. Friendly welcome at hotel. Stayed one night with a cheap upgrade to beach accommodation. Hotel looked after our luggage whilst we travelled to Elephant Hills. On our return given two beach side rooms, rooms lovely & extremely large; we asked to move to one. My husband & I, and two teenage sons fitted in perfectly. Manager very helpful with this move. They should offer this more often, not all families with older children want to stay in the family accomodation further away from the beach. Couldn't fault breakfast, huge choice, staff extremely helpful. Amazing pools, clean beach towels. Great shady area by beach, two swings on beach, lovely setting. Hotel 5-10 minute stroll to main street. Boys enjoyed tennis lesson with English coach Ian. Thank you to Batman the Porter, English limited but very helpful & what a smile. :-)
A great start to our Asian adventure - pleasantly surprised at how excellent the sports team & facilities were - the tennis in particular was fantastic with the coach, Ian, being outstanding - will be back with a better backhand next year !!!!
Our family Had an amazing time at the centara hotel. They have many pools and activities for children with lots of space. Easy access to the beach and nice breakfast by the sea. Location of the hotel is good as it is close to the city and many restaurants
Well, actually it might have been worth the four stars it advertises, but I’ve never eaten worse food in a Thai hotel before this. The pool side restaurant is WAAAY overpriced, and the waitresses handily lose their English capabilities if anything weird appears on a bill. And it happens. They handily advertise cheaper prices outside, but the check has two-three times the charge advertised. When complaining, they defend by saying the orders were made from an a la carte menu. Which we didn’t do. So, avoid the restaurants at all costs. The beach is okay, though. Some tear and wear appears in the buildings, and the overall level is more like 80’s British 4 stars, not the usual Thai thing everyone has in their minds. Lots of kids, and the family rooms are rather tidy, and seemingly in a better shape than most. The clear minus: they’re located faaaar away from the main area (again a plus-minus: the road and its services are near).
Can't really fault it, few small things. Not really an evening bar, no where to sit at the bar and watch entertainment.buffet food can be a little up and down in quality. Al a carte menu is good. Would go again.
We stayed in the biggest family room with our two children aged 1,5 and 4. They loved it. All pools are very kid friendly, the beach and sea are really safe, the animation team and staff is really sweet with little children, the enormous breakfast is perfect for little ones and there are plenty of baby chairs available, there is a safety door at the top of the stairs in the duplex appartment etc etc. 3 major downsides though: 1. our appartment was not nearly as nice as it looked in the pictures. It felt more like an office than a room. It was definitely really handy, but in the pictures it looked luxurious which it was not. 2. The balcony sucks, so if you have a little one who has to sleep during the day, one of the parents is confined to stay indoors. 3. The baby crib is waaaay to small to fit a 1-2 year old. Our 17 months old son almost fell out of it. Luckily we had a back up sleeper tent in our luggage.
Reception area is nice, the room we got was good very big two double beds in and was clean, we got a ground floor room we did ask for a first floor room as ground floor rooms do tend to smell damp, but first morning we went to breakfast at 9am we could not get a table we eventually got one after 20mins so you are best getting down to Brackfast between 7.30 to 8.30 to beet the rush we did try lunch in the hotel but found the service we got was crap there is plenty of little cafe's just out side 5min walk if that, back to the room at 5.30 for a shower 🚿 but this must be when everyone is using the hot water 💦 because the shower was cold it's OK on a morning. Just a warning I don't usually have trouble with mosses but this place is bad even though I use spray if I do come back to Thailand I won't be stopping at this hotel
