Centara Seaview Resort Khao Lak had everything we needed as a family. It is a big resort so even though we shared the resort with other holiday-makers we felt we could make our own space around the pool or at the beach. The resort staff were all really helpful and responded to anything straight away. The beds were comfortable which made for a very good night's sleep. We love that the resort had a buggy service to transport you to and from your room. We liked that the resort is very central in Khao Lak and close to restaurants and shops. And we loved the pool facilities especially the slide which was so much fun for all of us. We recommend this resort.

Checking in process was excellent. After a long flight we were offered a refreshing cool towel and chilled drink whilst the staff processed the check-in. It’s the little things! The hotel is in an excellent location, close to the main strip through the village with great access to Taxis, shops, restaurants and bars. As we came during the tail end of the ‘off-season’ there was little going on, however, there is signs of life both within the hotel and surrounding area. If you want a busy resort, don't come in September, for those looking for a quiet retreat - Perfect. The buffet breakfast was very good and offered a great variety, however, there was a limited hot vegetarian choice some mornings. This was addressed and the last few days of the stay included a great vegetarian selection. The spread of fresh fruit, juices, pastries etc was excellent throughout the stay. The hotel is clean and undergoing maintenance on a daily basis. Having seen the verasity of the rainfall and the damage it can cause in the matter of minutes, I think the hotel staff do an excellent job in keeping the resort ticking. We came at a time when lots of work was underway and I think the hotel did an excellent job of keeping the mess and noise to a minimal. Our cleaner was very friendly and always made sure the rooms were cleaned to an excellent standard (even folded my clothes - I don’t think she appreciated my floordrobe - so thank you!). The hotel offers a 100Bhat ‘My Green Day’ voucher, to use in two of the bars on site, on days you don’t want your sheets and towels changing. This is an excellent green initiative whilst also offering the guests a generous discount in the outlets! We used these vouchers to explore the Zing Bar in the complex - excellent location for live music and more friendly staff! Throughout the two week stay the staff have been excellent, willing to engage in conversation, and even those with limited English would always greet with the local ‘Sa-wee-da’ or hello. The General Manager was ever-present, friendly, willing to listen and acted on concerns straightaway. From looking at the surrounding resorts, Centara looked the best choice in the area, and I would definitely recommend the hotel for anyone looking to have a quiet relaxing break. The weather was hit and miss - obviously beyond the control of the resort - so be prepared for some short bursts of heavy downpours if coming in September.

A nice spacious Hotel with nice pools. Unbeatable is the possibility to have breakfast at the beach with an unforgetable seaview... The vacation was absolutely relaxing supported by the friendly and kindly employees

This is a hotel that pays attention to small details. On our arrival they arranged for our bags to be delivered to our rooms. The acknowledged friends who had stayed there before and gave nice welcome decorations in their room. They also provided o bowl of local fruit in each room. The breakfast area was right by the beach and there was ample choices in terms of types snd styles of food. They have several pools, the largest of which has a water slide. They also provided activities for the children each day. One of our group was involved in a serious accident while we were there, and the hotel staff went above and beyond. They helped arrange for taxis to take us to a hospital in Phuket 2 hours drive away. They also provided transport, and staff helped to interpret for us when we needed to speak with the local medical centre and police. They give messages for us and tracked down people we needed to speak with, even when we thought the task would be impossible. They printed, scanned, copied snd emailed numerous documents we needed to send. The compassion and support displayed by all the staff was unbelievable, and we cannot thank them enough. If I ever return to Khao Lak, I will certainly return to this hotel, who is a credit to their entire chain.

Was excited to go on a holiday where we could leave our kids for an hour or two as parents of four to grab a quick meal together. About half was through the stay we put our 3, 6 and 7 year old kids in the kids club for two hours. Prior to booking this hotel i rang them to ensure they would accept an child age 3 in the kids club. During the kids time there the 3 year old needed to go to the toilet, to which the kids club person running it just pointed to the toilet no assistance was given. He is 3, he cant even get onto the toilet on his own. Then my 7 year old daughter was made to assist him, getting on the toilet and then cleaning him up at the end. Yes cleaning him up! not cool. When i complained to the Centara staff, the GM called me and said that the person in the room was not comfortable with kids and this was a "wake up call" for them. I cant believe that i trusted the most important thing in the world to me, to someone else who doesn't take it seriously enough to put someone in that position that is not confident with children. Other than the GM of the hotel calling me nothing was done to make the situation right, no apology to my daughter, didn't say hey come back to the kids club and we will go out of our way to make them have fun or anything. We never sent our kids back after this.

CENTARA is an older large resort, walking distance to main drag of shopping & eating, SPINICH is No 1 rating, great whole, fried fish, cooked to perfection. also CUCUMBER has best Pad Thai & green chicken curry. POOL areas are the best at this resort, Beachside wing has large pool, the Reception wing has very large pool with kids area with slide & pool bar & eating area, beyond this behind a lovely row of Elephants is the Mountain pool, our favorite place, a very quite area to read, sleep or just listen to the birds. Kerrin is the General Manager, a very hands on, friendly, efficient, visable & available at all times Manager creating a team feeling by all staff. I would definetly stay at this Resort again when next in Khao Lak.

We spent 2 weeks here in a luxury pool villa. Had a great villa located near to the pool with the slide. Our pool and balcony was a great suntrap. It rained for 1 full day and 3 more days of a morning of rain and then nice again. This is to be expected in August so it didn't bother us. The villa is huge, lots of space for a family of 4 (only if your children are 12 and under). There are 3 huge pools and also a paddling pool and an adults pool with jacuzzi. The pools by the beach and with the slide do get a little oily/murky from everyone's sun cream and this isn't even peak season. I hope they clean the pools more often when it's peak season to rectify this. Needs a lick of paint also but I'm aware this is currently being done and it didn't put us off. Breakfast is fantastic, lots of choice, caters for everyone. We had dinner by the beach one night and ate by the pools 4 times while we were there and each meal was of a high standard and delicious. The hotel is typically Thai in decor which is one of the reasons I chose it. The plaza rooms (family rooms) look like a separate hotel as these are modern so the hotel caters for all tastes. The beach still has remnants of the tsunami even all these years on, needs a good clean but I know this is a public beach so not the hotels fault. Very close to the main strip in Khao Lak where excellent restaurants are plentiful. Special mentions must go to our maid, Kea, who did a grand job. Man-the pool bar guy, service with a smile always. Batman-the buggy man, my little boy loved him. All the staff were friendly and made sure they said sawasdee Krup if you walked past. I would recommend this hotel, would go back tomorrow if I could. Great places we ate that were no more than 10 minutes walk from the hotel are: Mojo's-next door to hotel-Thai-nice but most expensive Thai one we ate in Peter Pan-Best pizzas and burgers but most expensive western food we ate Bar central-our favourite, fantastic cheap Thai food, excellent service Qcumber-another favourite Thai cafe-cheap Bussaba-across the dual carriageway from hotel-excellent Thai food-middle of road prices Walkers Inn-furthest away about 10 min walk to the right of the hotel-cheap Thai and western food-Aussie sports bar

Karin, Adrien and all the team at Centara Seaview were amazing, in my 30 years of travelling I've never felt more at home than I did at this resort. Relaxation was the key to our family vacation and we did just that, we will be back, thank you so much for your hospitality, we have memories that will last a lifetime.

We had a fantastic holiday at the Centara Seaview Khao Lak in August 2017. The entire holiday exceeded our expectations. To begin with, travelling with two young children (7 & 11) we chose to have the Deluxe 2-bedroom family residence and we were delighted with our choice. We had read comments about whether the family accommodation was up to scratch for a resort like this but it turned out the reassurances we’d had from the hotel about the scale of the renovation programme were all accurate. The place was clean and very comfortable with more than enough room for a family of 4. The master bedroom was huge with a big comfy bed and the kids room was at the other end of the upstairs, the other side of the bathroom. The kids room had two single beds, their own wardrobe and their own TV. Downstairs there was also another bathroom (strictly speaking they’re shower rooms but you know what I mean, a wet room style shower with a sink and toilet). So you’ve got plenty of capacity when everyone’s getting ready to go out. The kitchen is modest but frankly the fridge is all you need. There’s a microwave and kettle if you want it. Each day the maid leaves you 4-5 bottles of water which is extremely welcome and saves you trekking to a local shop all the time. All the rooms have air conditioning so you can be as comfortable as you like at night. We had also read comments about the location of the family accommodation and frankly I don’t understand them. It’s barely a 5 minute walk from one end of the resort to the other. You’ll walk further than that each night between bars and restaurants on the main street so who can honestly say walking for a couple of minutes is a big deal? The hotel has a golf buggy which is available to summon from reception to get you or to take you back up there whenever you want if you really can’t be bothered to walk. Also, it means the family accommodation is quite close to the main pool which is the one with the slide and the poolside bar so I think the location’s just right. Another aspect of its location is proximity to the main street. We like to explore for food options and so ate out every night. You’re about 20 yards from the main street but at no point are you aware of that, there’s just no noise, and you’ve got so many bars and restaurants to choose from; very convenient. The resort has so many pools there’s something for everyone. Our kids couldn’t wait to get in the pool straight from the breakfast table which is convenient because there’s a big one right next to where breakfast is served, adjacent to the beach. The main pool for us was the largest one with the slide, the poolside bar and also the Rim Nam restaurant. Even this one isn’t just one pool and offers a relaxing, chilled-out jacuzzi pool further up if you want to relax away from the main activity. The family accommodation has its own smaller pool if you’re looking for a place to play that’s not too far to stray with little children. All the food we had was lovely, Whether it was lunch right by the beach or the breakfast buffet. You have everything you’d want; cereals, toast and pastries; fresh fruit, yoghurts and cold meats, waffles, pancakes but also the conventional bacon, eggs etc and an omelette station where someone will make your specific order exactly how you like it. (I think this might be the part of holiday I miss most since coming home…) The resort’s beach is just wonderful. Aside from the picturesque landmark of the lighthouse just offshore it has an impeccable sandy beach which shelves away quite gradually so it’s ideal for little ones to paddle and you can also wade out into the surf if you’re a big kid and like getting pounded by a few waves on the days when they’re quite lively. Or you can relax in one of the hammocks or sit on a rope swing suspended from a palm tree out over the sand; heavenly. Despite being considered low season or rainy season I can’t say that we had any more rain than I’d expect for a tropical country. We had a little cloud cover on some days (a relief when it’s 35 degrees) but it must have been Day #4 before it actually rained. We only had two days with anything like prolonged rain, the rest of the time it was simply glorious and we all came home with nice tans thanks to diligent use of Factor 50! For things to do, get a taxi up to Bang Niang market (I think Mon, Wed, Sat) which is approximately 150THB and across the road from there is the Tsunami Memorial Museum. There are dozens of places advertising elephant-related day trips and if you can get one that combines elephants with a wider jungle trekking experience that’s great to do. Also Phang Nga bay is a must, not simply for James Bond Island but for the awesome scenery and Panyee “floating” village. We were initially attracted to Thailand having been previously pre-tsunami and we latched onto the Centara because of the good rates. Our package included private transfers from the airport which was a blessing because after an eternity on a plane you don’t want to be stopping off at hotels on the way dropping people off. The taxi journey is barely 1 hour 10 mins from the airport. Everyone at the hotel is so helpful and happy, a really nice group. I think a lot of credit must go to the resort’s general manager who can be seen around all day reviewing the facilities and overseeing everything from morning to night. There’s a clear focus on ensuring that everyone has the best holiday possible. Overall I can highly recommend this resort and we would gladly go back. It’s got just the right combination of everything and Khao Lak specifically suited our requirements and expectations perfectly.

What a great location by the beach, yet within easy reach of the town. We were a party of 6 who stayed for 18 nights in August. The ocean wing is a little oasis by the beach - easy walk to breakfast and to the pool. we loved the pool area and there was plenty of sun beds and beach towels. the hammock on the beach was the perfect place to relax and listen to the sea. We paid to be upgraded to the refurbished Ocean Delux wing rooms once we arrived - the rooms are large bright and this was money well spent. Clean - the housekeeper was lovely and did a great job Toiletries - fab - don't bother bringing your own tea/coffee in abundance Very comfortable beds A/c very effective large comfy bathrobes Breakfast - something for everyone - we needed a table for 6 - staff always on hand to arrange this. Hotel Dining - the Pacific Bar b que was delicious - we went twice Wifi - the best in any hotel I have stayed at - even on parts of the beach We took the hotel buggy up to the top of the resort where the shops are - then walked back down. The SPA - one of the best I have been to for quality of treatments and kindness of ladies. I had two treatments and the ambience was perfect. Airport Transfer - get the hotel to arrange this - very competitively priced Out and About Local shops by hotel for drinks/ can get washing done easily we used William in the main town to arrange tours - we had a lovely driver for a day trip to Phuket. We had a fabulous holiday in Thailand and at the hotel. one day we hope to return Please pass on our thanks to all the staff - they were so kind especially Batman and the ladies at the Spa.
