We happened to stay at Costanoa during a particularly stormy time, so I premise this by saying our experience may have been different during a warmer time of year. We stayed in a tent and I definitely wouldn't recommend it when it is cold. During the night, the electricity went out along with our electric blanket; it was freezing! Thank goodness we brought extra blankets but we were still pretty cold. Another thing was that Cascade, the restaurant on site was closed when we were there and there was no mention of that closure when I booked. It would have been good to know, since we were planning on eating dinner there. Pine Tent was also closed when the electricity went out, so which was hard with both places being closed. Also, the wifi went out with the electricity and our devices didn't charge overnight. So, it was a challenging experience. I would like to come back in the summer and see if our experience is different.

Check-in was quick and easy, and the property itself is beautiful with great amenities and an excellent location. The playground by the café is a nice touch for families. The pizza at the pine tent was very disappointing. The room was clean, comfortable, and the bed was very cozy. However, I was disappointed to find we had a parking lot view, which wasn’t made clear during booking. I was told it would cost an extra $90 to upgrade. I also found what appeared to be a dead cockroach, which was off-putting. The biggest issue was the noise. The soundproofing is terrible. Being on the ground floor near a main traffic door, we heard people coming and going all night, plus loud pacing from the room above that kept us up until midnight. We were then all awake again at 7:00 a.m., including my four-year-old, and ended up checking out by 7:30 because once a child is up, the day has started. There is no cell reception and no phones in the rooms, so I had to call the front desk over WiFi in the middle of the night to report the noise and request security. While the property is attractive and well-located, the noise and the lack of transparency about room views made this stay disappointing. I would suggest booking a cabin or tent outside the main lodge to avoid the noise. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

Room and bathroom was beautiful and well designed. Lots of little details were great like the lights, the Nespresso machine, windowed mini fridge, outlet placement, etc. Being able to wake up with an espresso and watch the sunrise on the balcony was magical. Bed was incredibly comfortable, slept really well!

I booked a weekend getaway at Costanoa Lodge for my boyfriend’s birthday and we wouldn’t have wanted to celebrate it any other way. The property was quiet, peaceful, and perfectly situated between the most beautiful scenery. We had a great time exploring all that Costanoa had to offer.

I complained to the front desk multiple times during my stay and was told no comps were offered because I booked on Expedia. Expedia listing didn’t state no shower in room, restaurant and hot tub closed. I requested a refund and GM didn’t reply to Expedia or myself. Property should not be open during renovation; very disruptive. I’ve stayed here for many years. The new management is terrible.
