You can write pages about what could be better but the truth is that for the price, it’s a great place to stay and does the job. Clean room and although basic there is nothing else you need. Have food at the restaurant. Good food and good price. WiFi not great but try talking to each other....
We needed a simple overnight in Calais before catching the Shuttle back to the UK. We have stayed in quite a few Campaniles and they are generally good value for money. The decor of the Calais Campanile is looking a little "tired" - the net curtain in our room was torn. However the room was clean, cosy and warm. We had both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and enjoyed them both. The wine list was good. Service was friendly and courteous.
Have stopped a couple of times, first time out of choice & second time there was no choice. It is very run down & the staff have little interest if you do complain. We were given a room with a leaking pipe in the bathroom, the floor was full of water pouring straight out when the tap was turned on. Phoned the manager who offered us a towel to soak up the water. Refused to change our room with a galic shrug of his shoulders! Restaurant ok though
Accommodation looking a care worn. For example the bathroom grouting had a lot of yellow stains, and the floor grouting which should have been grey was black in places. One bedroom light fitting was quite bent. Needs refurbishment, but in the meantime a good clean would work wonders.
This was just an overnight stop on the way south after coming through the tunnel. The hotel is in a good location and there is a fuel station on the way back to rejoining the motorway. Food and service was, as always, very good value. The downside is that the rooms are looking old and in need of an update.
Stayed here before a few years ago. The quality has stayed the same. Excellent value for budget hotel and excellent salad bar. Professional and polite staff. Easy checking in and out process. Beds clean and comfortable. Everything you need for an overnight stay but don't expect 5 star luxury. I would stay here every time I come to Calais. \the staff speak good English but still maintain their French character and culture which I think is good.
Well the rooms are a bit dated, but they are clean and functional. For the moaners, if you want perfect then go the Ritz. The facilities and rooms here are quite acceptable for the price. The restaurant has a chef that clearly loves his work. Good quality food (small menu) of freshly prepared and cooked meals at bargain prices Double glazing keeps the rooms quiet
Having taken a late shuttle this was a great place to lay our heads, just 10 minutes from arriving in France. Warm welcome at the reception and swift check in. Our ground floor room was clean, the beds comfortable and lashings of hot water in the tidy bathroom. Difficult to ask for more at a bargain price. I don't suppose that you would want a prolonged stay here, but for one or two nights more than sufficient.
Have used this location for vacation for many years, and although the staff are very friendly and courteous, the building and rooms are looking tired and in need of a complete refurbishment. The buffet in the evening was good and adequate but the buffet breakfast was less appetising. A little bit of imagination is required.
Stayed at this hotel as a stop over on route to South of France. Staff were very friendly on arrival. Room was very clean and fitted the need , A shower, bed and Tv and secure parking. The food at the restaurant was very good and not to bad priced . 5 minutes from the euro tunnel so very handy. Highly recommend
