This was an exceptional experience. It is a rare thing to be able to stay in a beautifully restored Art Nouveau hotel. The rooms were comfortable, quiet, large, well-appointed and very clean. The staff were discreet, very helpful, and highly professional. We had a special request during our stay as one of our party was celebrating his birthday and they were very helpful in finding us a special table. The breakfast is delicious and excellent value. The hotel's location is good as well - halfway between central Parnu and the main beach area, in a leafy residential area. Everything is very walkable.

First of all, we paid around 80€ for our night and not 200€ plus which i guess can affect our experience. Staff was friendly and helpful. First of all, it was a nice house, with its own character, rooms can be a bit small and our bed felt more like dollhouse beds than anything else, clean and all in all not your standard hotel but makes up for it with character. Good location close both to town and beach. Breakfast was good, you have a good selection of buffet but also a menu you can order some really good stuff from. I am lactose intolerant so i had higher hopes for something more that could go along with that but i managed to have a very good breakfast anyway.

This botique hotel is quirky. There are lots of stairs and no elevators. Many of the rooms have only a porthole window although overlooking parkland. Odd. The rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable. The public spaces in the hotel are expansive, with a large number of hunting trophies on the walls, a billiards room and several posh dining rooms. All in all, a nice, comfortable, and slightly unusual hotel . Dinner was a disaster. The before dinner drinks were very slow in coming. We ordered two gin and tonics and two prosciuttos. We were served four gin and tonics. Two of the four persons in our party ordered the fillet of beef, medium rare and were served utility grade rump steak, well done. The other two mains were mediocre but okay. The least expensive wine on the wine list was $50, nice but pricey. When we asked for a second bottle, they were sold out of the cheap stuff and upsold us an $80 bottle. All in all, a very expensive, fairly awful meal, though the staff were polite.

Very nice experience from the first impression to the farewell. They have done a superb job in restoring the old charm to this lovely estate. We stayed at the separate building, our room (number 15) was very spacious. Only downside being that it's on the ground floor with bathroom windows facing the parking area, but that did not bother us. They have a really good restaurant, the dinner we had with our friends was more than satisfactory - really good dishes and lovely setting on the plates. The breakfast was also an experience above ordinary - besides normal smorgasbord selection there is a really tempting menu of prepared hot dishes. Only problem with it was that it was almost impossible to choose ones favourite as there seemed to be so many tempting dishes to choose from! All in all, I can heartily recommend this hotel and their restaurant as to top it off the service at the hotel was really good and caring for us as customers.

We stayed at Villa Ammende for one night during Pärnu restaurant week. This was part of a package we got from Estravel which also included a three course dinner at the hotel's famed restaurant, breakfast and late checkout. Kindly note that I will be covering the three course dinner we had at the hotel's restaurant in a separate review. You realise how special the hotel is even before entering. It is based in a big mansion which has been granted national monument status. Upon entry we were greeted by several enthusiastic staff members. They all spoke English fluently. Once we checked in, we were escorted to our room on the second floor by a member of staff. In order to get to our room, we had to climb two flights of stairs. I am not sure if a lift is available, I highly doubt that there is a lift in such a beautiful, historic building. Our room was a De Luxe twin room. Although not a suite, it was quite large. I can only imagine how impressive the suites are. The attention to detail is mind boggling. The fixtures, fittings and complimentary cosmetics are successful in conveying to the guests that they are staying in a luxurious and exclusive hotel. As expected, the breakfast was also up to par. There is the usual buffet, sparkling wine for mimosas and an a la carte menu. We ordered the three egg omelette with king prawn and the pancakes with cottage cheese and jam. If you are staying for more than one night, you can try something different from the menu every day to avoid boredom. Conclusion: Villa Ammende is incredible. The perfect place for a romantic getaway. It is probably even better to stay there in the Summer when you can sit on the terrace outside. Highly recommended!

Stayed here for one night whilst on a recent business trip. The hotel has a fantastic ambiance, art deco at its very best. Dinner in the restaurant was sublime, food simply to die for ! All of the staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and extremely friendly, a credit to the hotel. Even now I'm planning my next visit, this time with my family. A destination definitely not to be missed.

It is trully exceptional place to go to for overnight and restaurant is a brilliant masterclass. The service is super, the rooms are not just beautifull -they are worth every single euro spent. All meals are delicious and atmosphere is just ..incredible. TRULLY RECOMEND THIS PLACE.

We arrived in Parnu by car in early October and began looking for a hotel. While we are generally budget travelers, we splurge once in a while. This was a real treat. Checked out the Frost in town and a couple of the modern hotels on the beach. While those looked fine, we decided that we wanted something a bit more special and closer to town. Ammende is a walk into a time warp, back 100 years. The hotel is a beautiful grand old mansion. No elevators (rooms are only one or two floors up), and hence no tour buses. With old world charm, old period furniture and the like. Our room was on the second floor- spacious, quiet and looked over the spacious park-like grounds. Ask for a tour of the grand suite where the superstars stay - what a room! The service at the hotel was fantastic. The service at the restaurant even better. Our waiter was a 50 year old man who clearly regarded service as a waiter to be a profession. He really knew his work. For example, I had to leave the table to take a phone call, just before dinner was served. When he saw I was not there, he literally ran back to the kitchen to get a cover for my plate to keep the food warm. The breakfast was also the best we had on our vacation, though we had many excellent meals. We ordered al a carte (no extra charge) for a egg, shaved carrots, spinach and bacon on bread with a sauce akin to Hollandaise. Better than eggs benedict. If you want a memorable experience, this is the place. Can't recommend it enough.

We only stayed one night, but it was magic. There is an outdoor terrace, which I can only imagine how lovely it is in summer. Staff is incredibly polite and helpful. They all spoke English very well. The hotel itself looks like a mansion and inside you can still feel that historical charm. Our room was large and had everything in it (including my favorite Bvlgari shampoo). We treated ourselves to a red wine bottle we had in the room and I have to compliment whoever chose it - wine was incredible. Breakfast was perhaps the best breakfast I have had in a hotel. There were plenty of appetizers to treat your taste buds before ordering hot breakfast from the menu. I had scrambled eggs with grilled king prawns. My friend had an omelette with duck we both agreed that it was at the highest standard. Our only wish was that coffee cups were a little bigger, but this is us being super picky. Gorgeous place, perfect for a quite retreat or perhaps as a mid stop on a journey further.

Visiting Pärnu early September was a great experience. Luckily we stayed at Villa Ammende, a luxurious and very interesting hotel carefully restored to its hey days. Lots of interesting details to admire and the public areas are stunning! Our room in the Gardener's House was spacious and included all amenities you could wish for. Villa Ammende has a lovey garden where you can have your lunch or coffee (weather permitting), quiet location with a short easy walk to the beach and town centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Our only negative is the in-house restaurant. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast and some of the dishes were not very tasty. The quality was like a roller coaster; some dishes were outright delicious and some lacked seasoning and care.
