It was a very nice property, getting there was just a little inconveniente.
Beautiful location and view - close to everything. Excellent food.
We picked the Sofitel bc of the name/brand and were very disappointed. Let’s start with the good: we were traveling with our four-year-old and they set up a cot for us in advance of our arrival which was lovely. And, they have Hermès bath products. The room was clean enough (it’s an old hotel), but there were dirty glasses and napkins outside our door when we arrived. The glasses were still there the next morning when we left at 11:00, which isn’t really a big deal, but our bath towels were not clean. We found a booger on a wash cloth, and as my husband dried himself after the shower his towel distinctly smelled like urine. Gross and gross. Our coffee machine was broken (in fairness they tried to bring us a new one, but we were rushing to leave). The hotel is under construction, which we knew because I had read reviews mentioning it, and the workers accidentally set off the fire alarm at 7:30 AM. Clearly not the hotel’s fault, but given everything else we experienced it was the last straw. Upon check out when I mentioned our issues staff offered to pay for my $15 vodka and soda from the night before. I suggested maybe they could buy us breakfast, and they said they would come the drink OR breakfast. Didn’t seem like Sofitel service to me.
Staff great; hotel in awkward spot- no one could find it - hard to get to - warning it is in la Defense area which is away from the attractions
Staff was unbelievably friendly and went out of their was to please us. Four Seasons Service WOW Factor. Hotel is in business district, walking distance to mall, shops. Metro is right outside hotel, can take you Anywhere in or out of Paris. Close to Arch of Triumph and Eiffel Tower. Definitely take Metro everywhere, two, 3 day passes for $49 will save you $30-$40 Euros for one taxi. Plus Taxis will rip you off every chance they get. My advice, take Ubers to and from Airport, they are awesome and will save you $30-$40 Euros one way. Use Credit Cards for Everything, every Taxi, shop, and restaurant takes them, make sure you notify your Credit Card , bank, debit companies that you'll be out of country and dates. We used no Cash at all. Paris people are Friendly and will help you if they understand you. My advice which helped a lot, download a English to French App on your Smart Phone. Wifi is almost free everywhere in Paris, download "What's" App, all is free on this app. Do not use data, it will cost you a fortune, we used $100 the first day, keep your data off, use wifi and What's app and you'll be fine. Awesome Experience, your hotel can book you tours anywhere. Don't call a Taxi from the hotel, they charge you from where they are to get you. If you get in the Taxi and it reads $6 + Eiros, tell the driver you're to take it off before you leave, or take another taxi. Hotel doesn't have a pool or spa, that was the only downside. Other than that the hotel was a comfort dream
Fantastic .workers were very polite they met all are needs .french was good .room service never took long
A real 5 stars hotel in Paris. Fantastic Staff !!! just you try it!!
This hotel is located in a business district, so if you are looking for "Paris ambiance" you won'tfind much of it here. The Metro is a short 5 minute walk and you can be in the heart of Paris in 20 minutes or less. The stafff was courteous and responsive ... Couldn't ask for more.
Great staff -very helpful, kind, and excellent English! Outstanding room, particularly the cushy bed and really enjoyed TV feed into bathroom. Great location - very close to metro line; within 400 yards of a great mall. Clean and safe area. Took late night walks - well lit.
Nice hotel, larger rooms than most in Paris. Modern bath rooms. Super service.
Not good
We ordered room service. The price charged was higher than that on the room service menu. Additionally, we were charged for a substitution that THEY requested: they were out of mashed potatoes, so they suggested rice as a substitute; they proceeded to charge for the rice.
