Mercure Paris Pigalle Sacre Coeur4.0 out of 5.0

The hotel was good enough for 3 nights in Paris, a good price for the location and with very easy access to the Metro (across the street), to nice restaurants, bar and tourist attractions. The breakfast was also very nice and the rooms are comfortable.
The hotel is more like a 3-star hotel. The room was very small that i cant open even one luggage. The staff are not very welcoming too. The bathroom was ok but there were no covers in the shower place, the water spilled out everywhere after shower. The bed was comfortable too. The hotel is located just outside Pigalle station with a lot of bus downstairs. The location is convenient, also close to Moulin Rouge and Sacre-Coeur. However, there are many sex shops nearby, not very suitable if you are coming with your family.
Had a lovely stay here in April 2017 with my friend. Our room was perfect size for two girls and kept very clean by the staff. Beds were very comfortable. The area is lively, 2 minute walk from the Moulin Rouge, a short walk from the Sacre Coeur and 2 metro stops nearby bringing you to all the other sites. The reception staff were extremely friendly and the hotel was beautiful. My only warning (NOT the fault of the hotel) but on the morning we were leaving, we asked for our taxi to arrive at the hotel at 6:10am. The taxi driver arrived early and although we greeted him at the arranged time, he charged us for the time he had been waiting. We were unable to deal with the situation as he insisted he didn't speak English and my French would not be up to a high standard. I would advise being early for your taxi to avoid this happening. Thank you for a lovely stay Hotel Mercure, I would definately recommend this hotel and I will consider staying here again!
The hotel was advertised at a good price, and I wondered what the pay-off would be. The hotel is fine, apart from a couple of rather rude receptionists - the rest of them are fine. Otherwise a clean and comfortable, if very small room (with a minute bathroom). I ate out (the excellent Chez Toinette) and had to leave for a meeting before breakfast.
Although I booked my room with large advance, I was assigned a very small room with almost no access to the bed once you place your luggage in the room. I could not even work in my room as there was no desk, just a tiny table with a floor cushion to seat on. And all of this for more than 170 euro per night! Mercure Management should take an extra care for Gold members, but this hotel did not.
I'll start by saying that I was in a silent shock when arriving at 1 am to this place. The surrounding area is disturbing by the numerous sex shops in the proximity and the not so glamorous streets. During the day I was a bit relieved. It was mission impossible to find a parking as the hotel doesn't have one. The rooms are small, despite the fact that we booked a suit, but it is ok as living space in France is not big. I was not impressed by the service there because I called for an iron and the iron board and the receptionist told me to come down and get it. When I came to pick it up he told me not to forget to bring it back ! I didn't say anything, but there were 2 people at reception and asking the guest to come and pick up things is unacceptable, taking in account that one night is 200 € plus. The breakfast is small but delicious; I really enjoyed the bread, croissants and cappuccino. Apart from this the other staff were friendly and helpful. I wouldn't come back to this place because of the neighbourhood.
Room had great atmosphere, but it was very small. Breakfast was poor, no vegetable was provided, so it was not worth the money we paid for it. Staff was helpful. In general the hotel was good, it has great location, although area is full of sex shops.
The hotel is clearly a chain, nice and modern. The hotel is very near to the metro and around Pigalle to a lot of bars, resto and touristy shops. The room was quite large for Paris, but we did pay for the upgrade to a larger category. Also clean, had a sofa and a hudge TV. We room was facing a small court, not much sunlight or a view. The coffeemachine wasn't quite working, the AC was not adjustable (23.5°C is quite warm to sleep) and some of the free drinks in the minibar were removed after the first night. Check in and out was quite slow for a hotel that small, but staff was usually very helpful and friendly.
Good hotel to visit Moulin rouge or basilica Sacre Coeur. Few steps from Metro station Pigalle. Breakfast very simple (as in ibis) ... In total not bad hotel ... (be careful - a lot of sex shops around).
Arrived in the evening on Eurostar and short ride from Gard du Nord. Some complications with my last-minute booking which the receptionist quickly resolved and upgraded to Room 15. Excellent room for Paris standards. Decent food options at the nearby corner. Breakfast is what it is and efficient check out by Veronique. Overall decent location for one night b & b, and friendly service.
