On arrival reception was excellent; concierge were courteously attentive. The rooms were clean and cozy. Excellent breakfast; though, a little variety would have been welcome. Had a fantastic time with an affordable budget.
The hotel room was a little tight but, overall it was conveniently located close to public transportation... And hotel staff was great!
We had a miserable travel day and missed our train so we didn't get to make it to our first out of three nights booked. We fully understood we were probably just going to be out the money, but we thought they might be able to give us a discount, a welcome drink, complimentary breakfast? Something? Nope...just bad customer service (and from the manager!) Overpriced, uncomfortable mattress, it said it was updated but it was outdated and smelly. Not pleased to say the least!
We were traveling to Paris for the first time and we booked this hotel for two nights as we were impressed by the reviews this hotel had online. Too bad, because of a screw up by our airlines, we arrived only a day later so we got one night only at this beautiful place. The entrance was a bit difficult to find, but once we found it, everything was excellent after that. The staff was great and really really helpful - I've never seen any staff being so concerned and eager to help. We were served a refreshing welcome drink, which was really good, and then the staff helped us check-in and deliver the bags to the room. By the time we had reached Paris (after the screw up by the airlines), we were running late for one of our pre-paid lunch cruise, so we wanted to quickly check in, drop off our luggage and catch our boat. However, this was our first day ever in Paris, so we were not sure where to go - the staff gave us detailed instructions on how to reach the loading dock along with a map. Our airlines had also lost one of our bags, and we were stressed about that as well - the staff offered their help and told us that they would call the airlines on our behalf and follow up - which they did repeatedly! Such a nice bunch of folks. The room itself was cute and cozy, we were already prepped by the staff that rooms in Paris are generally smaller than the US, so we were not shocked. Our room was on 3rd floor, and there was an elevator to reach it. However, there were an additional 3-4 steps we had to climb to reach the room. The bathroom was tiny, but felt spacious as it was split and had separate toilet area. There were ample towels and all necessary toiletries. The views from the room were average, and I could see one of the spires of the Notre Dame tower :) But in the morning, when the street was quite, the view up and down the street was really nice. The location was good, within walking distance to a lot of cafes, resturants and Notre Dame. We did not get a chance to go to the restaurant or the bar, but whatever time we spent there was really good and cherished. The only issue I had is that it is a bit pricey compared to other properties around, and even though I used the hotel for only one night, they charged me city tax for 2 nights - per person per day :( They could have waived off the city tax given the situation was not in my hand. Overall, a nice hotel, with great location and excellent staff. Thanks for such an amazing stay.
This is a lovely hotel steps away from the sites of Paris. The room was spacious and comfortable. This is a perfect pick for those seeking a central location with friendly, accommodating staff.
I spent five nights at the Melia Colbert in March, 2014. I had planned a ten night trip to Paris and the first five nights I was going to be on my own and wanted to feel 'taken care of'. The hotel fit the bill perfectly. My favorite areas to shop and eat in Paris are the Marais and St. Paul - also the Left Bank and both the Isle's that separate the two banks, so the location was ideal. The bath was heaven, the towels and bedding were exceptional. My only, small, issue was the lack of a full restaurant for meals and/or room service, but the few times I did order what was available the food and champagne was wonderful. I would definitely return, and highly recommend.
This is the place to stay in Paris if you like quiet boutique hotels. The location is perfect and easy access to subway . The staff all spoke English and took care of everything from dinner reservations and directions to finding a doctor who spoke English for me . Great gathering room to wind down and have a glass of wine a reflect on the day . Loved it and can't wait to go back !
the hotel was in a fabulous location, but the bed was so uncomfortable. it was a mattress on top of a box, literally.
Perfect location for all the hot spots in Paris. The train is 5 min away so you can get anywhere that's not walking distance easily. The staff is beyond helpful. Any info we needed, shopping, places to go, how to get there, they were on it. Luv Luv this hotel & staff Will definitely stay again Kelli. Florida 10/20/13
This was a recommendation by a fellow teacher. I have to admit at first I wasn't sure how great the location was based on maps. Arriving there though: AMAZING! It's near a lot of great land marks (Notre Dame & Latin Qurater) but also next to a major subway hub that can take you everyplace else. The people at the front desk were personable and kind. They always had great advice. Finally the room was spacious for European standards. I wouldn't even consider staying any place else!
Conveniently located a block across the Notre Dame cathedral, the latin quarter and a short walk from the Louvre. Comfortable room and extremely helpful staff. Highly recommended.
These people are problem-solvers. It seemed as if they not only spoke English fluently but also Spanish. Room was larger than any other I've stayed in Europe for same price. Free internet acess and a printer in the lobby allowed me to print out boarding passes. Amazing location.
Loved our experience in Paris. The hotel staff was very helpful and the location was perfect. The neighborhood was really great with a good mix of restaurants/shops. The proximity to many public transportation options was great. My only complaint was that the pillows were a little hard. Otherwise great stay.
location is fantastic, rooms are clean and comfortable. importantly, the staff was warm, accommodating, and highly professional.
My wife and I stayed at Le Colbert Hotel when we spent just over a week in Paris. We had a view of the spire at Notre Dame from our room. The room was quite spacious by European standards. The staff is friendly and quite helpful. The lunch recommendation they made on our first day (Le Reminet) was excellent and made a great start to our vacation.
We loved the location of this place. It was quiet, yet close to everything you need while visiting Paris!
I stayed at the Melia Colbert for four nights and it was a wonderful stay. The staff were extremely friendly and always helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect...you can walk to Notre Dame (we heard the bells ringing in our hotel room...wonderful!), the Louvre, etc. Perfect location, perfect staff, perfect hotel. There is also a great bakery just down the street where we ate breakfast each morning. I can't think of any negatives except that we were only in Paris for a few days.
The Melia Colbert Hotel is a great home base while you're in Paris. Located across the river from the Notre Dame Cathedral, it's also very close to the Cluny (Musée national du Moyen Age), Shakespeare & Co., tons of cafés, the only comic book stores I saw in Paris, and public transportation. The staff is pretty friendly, with one smarmy guy in the mix--though, he's actually quite hilarious. We did not take advantage of the breakfast, but there are loads of options nearby--as the "smarmy guy" said to someone "why don't you enjoy a coffee in my little town?"
The Hotel Colbert is a small boutique hotel. The rooms are small by American standards, however their size is redeemed by their charm. The true treasure of this hotel is the staff. They have personal/professional relationship with all guests, greeting each person as they enter of leave; plus they offer true consiergere service to all guests. Located on the Left Bank, The Colbert is a 5 minute walk to Notre Dame.
great small boutique type hotel with plenty of charm. rooms are small but have all the amenities. bathrooms are all marble with modern features..super clean. staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. hotel is in a small street only two short blocks from Notre Dame and the Latin Quarters. has internet but not Wi-Fi. should be a pretty simple fix. got there way earlier tthan check in time but they got our rooms right away. good overall value.
