We can totally deal with Paris old-world charm, and this is the type of apartment (and location) we are actually looking for to buy and fix up as a pied-à-terre, but for a rental it was far too lacking. There were two very small pillows on the old foam bed, and when we asked for more, they delivered one very uncomfortable European pillow without a case (which we had to wait for hours for with late delivery). The kitchen sink was stopped up, and the refrigerator never closed properly, making it impossible for us to self-cater and cook for ourselves, costing us money out of pocket for more meals out than we were anticipating. They did fix the sink, but again, wanted us to wait for the repair person, which we did. The internet was horrid, and we had to tether to our phone data to login for work calls we had during the week. The worst part: the communication process was frustrating, as they only communicated by email, and not very promptly. They never responded to our VRBO messages or our WhatsApp messages. This apartment also lacked the amenities of other rentals in this price range: throw blankets for colder nights, any additional towels (there was one bathroom towel each and one kitchen towel), any extra linens. On our final full day there, a realtor showed up cranky that we were still there, as he had clients with him to show the apartment for sale. I’ve never given such a low review for a VRBO; however, we still enjoyed our time in Paris, because it’s Paris…
