This hotel is perfect for those who want to relax in peace and quiet but was a bit too quiet for us in the evenings as most nights there was only a piano player/organic / electric violin in the background during dinner. The highlight was Friday evenings when it was Chinese night in the restaurant and an excellent guitar player/singer with a rendition of Wonderful Tonight by Yannis, one of the waiters! It was very dark outside in the evenings with candlelight but this added to the ambience. We went to the sister hotel next door a couple of times to listen to live bands (served all inclusive drinks) and also up to Coral Bay 'strip' where the Millennium bar had a great soul singer on a Thursday night. We did go for our one free visit to the al a carte on our wedding anniversary but I didn't order the asparagus starter as I was told it would take an hour. This was a fine dining experience and nice for a special occasion. We also had a good glass of red wine on the house to celebrate and a surprise bottle of sparkling wine in the room. Thank you. We did have trouble getting a sun bed by the pool as we didn't get up early to put the towels down but found there was usually room down by the beach bar. The sun went off this garden by mid afternoon but as we had a west facing balcony with sun beds, we could go up and relax on them instead. The overall cleanliness and service in the hotel was excellent with special thanks to Olga in the restaurant with her dry wit! Special mention to the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in.
Stayed here in November. Asked for a room close to the beach and when we checked in Ewan was lovely, remembered my email too. Room was nice, lovely view but maybe needed a bit of TLC. Food was great, plenty of choice and George always had a smile and seemed a very genuine guy. A lovely week. Our first time in Cyprus but will be returning.
I stayed here in April with my grown up daughter for a wonderfully relaxing week with amazing service. Beautiful location, clean and comfortable but the outstanding thing about this hotel is how good the staff are. Courteous, smiling, helpful - each and every one of them. We were so well looked after whether we were by the pool, in the bar, or in the restaurant - and the a la carte is superb. Special mention to Cristos and to the umbrella man for their kindness and first class service. This isn’t a 5 star hotel to compare with Claridges or the Ritz but it is so relaxing and the staff are attentive. We loved that it wasn’t part of ‘the strip’ - the last time I went to Coral Bay it was an empty beach with a shack selling seafood so I was a little shocked at how it has changed - and that the entertainment was low key. I would rate service, value and location all as 5 star but I can’t make this part work. We said we would be back - and we have booked to go again in April 2018. We tried another Sentido in September but it wasn’t a patch on Thalassa Coral Bay. Can’t wait for April now!
We decided to come here for a week after receiving an end-of-season offer from Thomas Cook. We have never visited Cyprus before so it ticked several boxes. With the Euro being so expensive, an all-inclusive deal seemed like a good idea, and so it has proved to be. The location is lovely: our room was overlooking the tennis court and the beach, so we enjoyed the sunsets. Having 100 rooms, and being 16+ only, the place has a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful, from waiting staff to cleaners, reception, pool bar etc etc. The food, for a buffet system, is very good and we have enjoyed the theme nights - Italian, Asian, Greek etc. The choice is wide ranging and should suit all tastes. If you have allergies, the cards noting allergens at the side of each dish are a helpful addition. If I were to be very picky, I might comment that some of the bedroom furniture is a little worn, but having said that, the bed was enormous, far bigger than our king size at home. The location is good: although it is well outside Paphos, local buses run very regularly at a cost of €1.50 per journey or €5 for a day pass. The bus stop is minutes from the hotel. If you want a wander into Coral Bay, again that is a few minutes' walk, and useful for walking off dinner! 5 star? Don't expect Claridges or the Waldorf. It's a very good hotel with friendly staff, comfy beds, excellent food and a lovely location. What's not to like??
Amazing week here. All staff very welcoming and we've made some nice friends. Looking forward to returning soon. Choice of food is very good and always cooked well. Definitely upgrade to the Silver band (reasonable cost) as there are plenty of benefits if you do. The spa treatments are fantastic. The positioning of the hotel is very good, right on Coral Bay. We hired a car to tour the north part of the island. Cyprus is quite beautiful.
Our fourth visit so that tells you something! Service is excellent, food is spot on. The evening entertainment is low key - that suits us but if you want a bustling night life then this is not the place for you. Already booked for next year!
This the second time we been to this hotel and we have already booked for next year.Everything about the hotel is fantastic, the food is amazing and such a variety to choose from.the rooms are cleaned every day.We would like to say a big thankyou to all the staff so friendly and very professional and nothing was to much trouble, a credit to the hotel we booked a room with a sunset absolutely stunning I never get tired of looking at that view.Looking forward to seeing all the staff again and our new friends that we met this year see you all in the new year Rosie and Pete
Had a week in Coral Bay in September, our 1st visit to Cyprus and we will definitely be going back. Restaurant staff, beach bar and poolside staff were very friendly and most obliging, nothing was too much trouble for them. Rooms were spotless but yes I can agree with some other visitors that corridor carpeting does need some replacements. The entertainment was very low key and something a little bit more up to date on some nights would have been good in order to meet all age groups. The reception staff were all helpful. We met some friendly people at the hotel, many of them had been before, which no doubt will be the same for us. Food was well presented and plenty of choices. We also managed to get sunbeds when we wanted so cannot grumble. It was brilliant being adults only. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to a return next September. Dot and Steve
Our Stay in the hotel was very pleasant, room lovely with view over the bay. Fresh linen everyday, staff very pleasant , especially in the bar area, Yannis so friendly and always helpful bringing drinks to the poolside. The food for 5star hotel a bit disappointing, very unimaginative. Everyday fried squares of Turkey and desserts a bit repetitive, mousse all the time in different colours. Breakfast no choice of fruit juices, orange or apple juice not great choice again for supposed to be 5star. So we would return if the food was greatly improved. The A La Carte restaurant was ok, but menu the same each week and we were there for three weeks so choice very limited. So please hotel try harder with the food. Also perhaps the management to ask guests not to hang towels and items of clothing over the balconies not a good image for the hotel, either from the front of hotel and viewed from the pool .
The views from the rooms to the poolside and restaurant are simply beautiful! We had a lovely week staying at the hotel, staff were super and lovely clean hotel. That said, the hotel rooms are somewhat ‘tired’ and dated, whilst they are clean and well maintained by house-keeping they are no way at 5 star standard when they should be for the price and for status of being a 5 star hotel. It is such a relaxing hotel and the food is beautiful, especially the al Carte is up to Michelin star level - fantastic! We were self catering so be careful of the hidden costs to upgrade, which I don’t agree with and a little mis-leading as you shouldn’t have to pay for water and such in your fridge, when it’s 5 star and you’re paying 5 star prices. All-in-all I would recommend the hotel for all the benefits, excellent staff plus the peaceful and relaxing setting but does need a refresh of rooms and interiors to ensure the 5 star status.
