AC Hotel Ciudad de Pamplona by Marriott

The hotel was clean, modern and a quick 7 min bus ride away (and bus stop is in front of the hotel...very easy!!) from the heart of Pamplona. We stayed there for the running of the bulls in July and it worked out perfectly. We were with kids so we didn't want to be in the middle of all the action. The room was nothing exciting- clean and no frills and not fancy. We were out pretty much the whole day so we didn't spend too much time in our room. The neighborhood is quiet and has a nice park right in front of the hotel and there were a few restaurants surrounding the hotel- just make sure you go there early enough! My only problem was the hotel restaurant...what a complete and utter disappointment! I have had very poor experiences at hotel restaurants, but we were traveling with our children, got back super late and restaurants in the area were not open so we didn't have many options. The staff in the restaurant were not very friendly...I had to get the attention of a server to take our order and then he took the order and we waited an additional 45 minutes to get COLD food (completely uncooked hot dog, cold spaghetti, cold french fries, cold cheeseburger). I returned the food because it was inedible and then they just microwaved it...so disgusting. The server smelled so badly, the cook was rude (I could hear her get upset from where I was sitting) and it was a very unpleasant situation to say the least. After a long day all we wanted to do was eat and go to bed, but instead we went to bed hungry and upset after waiting so long for our order. I complained to the front desk and they were very apologetic and gave us all complimentary breakfast buffett the following day and didn't charge us for the meal we never ate which was very much appreciated. The front desk staff really came through for us in helping us with that issue and also providing directions and making us feel welcome. I would definitely stay there again but make sure to stay away from that restaurant unless it's for a quick drink!

Had to have a prolonged stay at this hotel as our motor home needed repairs. The staff here are so helpfull, especially Bea who has been so usefull in ringing the Fiat dealer for us along with suggesting a place where we could get a hair cut. At first we thought that it was a long walk to the Old Town from the hotel but once we looked at the shortcuts we did it very quickly. Head across the park which goes around the ciudela, and head towards the glass fronted bus station. Tip - on the corner of Iturrama (street) where the hotel is and Avenida de Pio XII there are a lot of restaurants and bars where students hang out, they offer cheap deals.

I had to visit the University of Navarra and this hotel was recommended. It is close by, good value for money and is comfortable. Service is polite, the rooms are ok for a business visit and the wifi works well. It is a 20 minute walk to the older part of town, so if you are visiting Pamplona for touristy reasons then there are probably closer hotels to look at which are down and in among the action.

Good value in easily accessible location. Staff were friendly, breakfast was ok. Typical AC style furnishings so glass partitions to showers and toilets might be a surprise to non-regulars. Parking was available in front of hotel.

The staff of this hotel is the best part. They are friendly and very helpful. Rooms are generic. Air conditioning is so moist that washed clothing would not dry so we had to use the expensive, but fast laundry service. Breakfast was good. Location is also good for walking around the City. Within walking distance to good restaurants.

This hotel was a great base for us while we enjoyed the San Fermin festival in Pamplona. The hotel staff were friendly, especially the male staff member who checked us in, he was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The walk to the city centre is about 20-25 minutes and takes you through a nice area. There is a bus from right outside the hotel that will take you to the centre, if you don't fancy the walk.

Stayed there as a rest day on the camino. It's bit off from downtown. Had to take a bus to get there (about 15-20 min). Front desk was busy or not attended. I didn't expect 5-star concierge service but didn't feel like it was attentive. Room was okay, just about the right size, not too tight. There are few restaurants nearby and a supermarket which was really helpful. This seemed like a good business hotel, maybe I was the wrong crowd there.

I had the misfortune of making a mistake in my booking of this hotel. I reserved a room for the wrong date (a week early). Upon realising my error I called the hotel and explained what I had inadvertently done. They said that it was non-refundable and as I was conversing with the woman my phone signalled that at that moment she had taken the money off my debit card. I asked to contact her manager. I did and he told me to contact the general manager and I sent her various emails and called her directly, always to be told that she was in a meeting and to call later. End result, for an online booking mistake I was charged the full amount with no compassion or flexibility. This is disgraceful customer treatment from what I thought was a reputable hotel chain - Marriott. It certainly demonstrates their customer service attitude and I urge potential guests to read this and go with a smaller, more personal hotel service, one where if you make a mistake, they will treat you with fairness and not just a $$ sign.

There were 6 of us, so we had 3 twin rooms. The rooms were spotless and relatively large. We were very pleased with the breakfast, which we got for free, booking through the actual website and paying with Visa. The location was good, in a quiet neighbourhood, with 3-4 restaurants/bars and supermarket nearby. You could walk to the centre, but we chose to use the bus(stop right outside the hotel) for 1.35 Euros. The reception staff were fantastic, helping us with booking taxis, printing etc (9 Euros to the train station)..thank you!!

Stayed in this hotel for 5 nights, great location, short walk to the center of Pamplona. Clean and modern rooms. Bar/Lounge and restaurant downstairs with great selection of foods and drinks. Breakfast is really good. was there for business and will definitely stay there again. easy access to anywhere within a 10 minute taxi ride.
