Good stay but no housekeeping service during stay. Guess they don't provide that? Also, check out was at 10am? Never stayed anywhere where it was that early. Room had seen its better day but was comfortable. Bed was good. Room layout was very good and had full kitchen. Good restaurants nearby.

I don't understand how people complained in the past about this hotel. They were nice at the front desk, the room was large and well kept.Checkout was easy.I didn't use the pool though so no idea about that. Only two things that I would change... I'd switch to a different couch as the couch in the room (at least the couch in my room) was very uncomfortable. Not sure if that is the same kind of couch in all rooms. Large high wood arms, the back was tall and stiff. The only other thing is that there two remotes for the tv in the bedroom. They both made power come onto it, but I couldn't get either to make a picture come on the screen. Good thing I'm not really a fan of watching the tv in bed so I didn't call down to the front desk.

Do not listen to all the negative reviews, this is a great place to stay,if you go on vaction for the condition of the hall way carpet it may not be for you !

Needs a major upgrade, coffee in lobby was like a motel 6. Grounds were nice and manicured.

Perfect location and friendly staff. Suites are very comfortable.

The property appears to be a condo, possibly former time-share. The individual units are very large, comfortable spaces. The carpets, drapes, bedspreads, etc. are showing their age a little and could use some updating. But the location is convenient and the lodging is overall very comfortable.

The location and size of the villas are the attraction to this property. The carpet, furniture and TV's are in need of replacement. If they would invest in those things listed this place could be 4.5 + star rating.

I stayed at this hotel 25 years ago and it hasn't changed since then. The limited staff I experienced (front desk, one or two housekeepers) were pleasant and professional. The feel of the hotel seemed different to me than in the past and when I Google'd Diamond Resorts International, who now runs the hotel, I found the tag line stated they were "a leader in hospitality and vacation ownership." Timeshare is what I gleaned from this. There's nothing wrong with a timeshare in my opinion if it's done right, but a two-star timeshare? Not for me. The room was a huge one-bedroom with full kitchen, full bath with shower and soaking tub and huge dressing area, but the furniture was tragic and the beds (I had two doubles, I think) weren't good and the bed covers and linens were icky. The TV in the bedroom was awful and not flat screen and the living room flat screen looked first generation. The appliances in the kitchen were original from the 80s. I had no maid service the first night of two. I didn't use the pool or other amenities, though I did park in the secure underground parking that was just fine. This is a dated property that has a lot of potential. I got what I paid for so I'm not complaining, but I have learned I'm not a two-star person and if you're wondering if you are, set your expectations low if you choose this property and maybe you'll be surprised...otherwise, you'll understand why I wrote this review.

Check in was quick. The staff was friendly. Our room needed the smoke detector batteries changed and the front desk sent someone within 20 minutes of my call down. I was impressed by there response time as it was almost midnight when I called down. The rooms are huge. The patio is great. This hotel has been under renovation a while so I was disappointed when I saw our room had yet to be redone. The furnishings are old and the bed wasn't very comfortable but everything was at least in working order. It's in a great location for walking around downtown. I've stayed here many times and probably will again but Ill wait till the renovations are done, which I think they said was another 12 months.

Char; Jose; and the rest of the staff took care of all of our problems, and necessities! Char is a really good manager, and doesn't hesitate to take care of anything you need, or any problem that needs to be fixed! It was very enjoyable at the Marquis Villas! The only thing that needs to be replaced is the hallway rug!

Had a great time the elevators are up and working which is a huge plus if your staying on the 3rd floor. Had a blast at the pool

Greeted with genuine warmth at check and throughout the stay. Easy check in but for the elevators being under repair. Spacious, well appointed suite, excellent bed and bedding, nice kitchen, great view. The pool/hot tub area is very nice, shade is sparse. There's an outdoor bbq area with tables and tennis courts, ping pong table, and pool table. Easy walk to downtown. Superlative Sherman's Deli is next door. There are a few issues to work on, but the property is excellent accommodations.

I've been back and forth between L.A. and Palm Springs, these past 40 years, and decided to give the Marquis Villas a try. My room wasn't ready so I had to kill 3+ hours; the elevators were out of order (and still are!), and the overall configuration of the hotel and interior hallways was complicated and confusing (frustrating, at the very least!). I wasn't impressed with the absence of a restaurant, snack bar or even a coffee cart and I DETEST paying a resort fee!!! Unfortunately, no person on staff seemed willing to do anything except check you in and answer questions. On the positive side, the room was magnificent + even a fully-functional and stocked kitchen (without the food, of course). This was the epitome of a luxury 1 BR condo and I can honestly say I've never stayed in a nicer room anywhere in P.S. My only recommendations, considering all the new hotel properties popping up everywhere and others in development, are to extend a more guest-friendly attitude, offer deep discounts on rooms (this IS the summer!), and reexamine your "no pets" policy and become a "pet friendly" property. There are tons of hotels in P.S. (including upscale properties) that allow your "four-legged best friend" and, as everyone knows, they are usually cleaner and quieter than most humans!

Great location with a great view but mattress were old and poor upkeep of rooms, very old Appliances and build.

Still have not received my refund, as I checked out of the hotel early. Beware of the concierge. Their only motive is to guide you into buying time shares. Sat for hours listening to the selling pitch for buying timeshares, set up by 'Bill' the concierge, at a sister property. That was not how I wanted to spend my vacation.

I love staying here. Always a pleasure. The rooms are amazing and it is close to everything.

Love the pool and the views elevator not working staff help carry bags to room. For the $ you can't go wrong

nice location, convenient to downtown and restaurants

Hotel elevator was not working and hotel staff was not very accomodating. We had to carry our luggage up and down the stairs for 3 floors. Even just wanting to go out was a drag due to having to deal with the stairs. There we also resort fees which were not mentioned in the reservation.

Decor is super dated. Elevator hasn't worked in over 4 Months. Told me I was on the 3rd floor with a great view to find a view to the side street at the opposite end of the hotel. Asked to move to 1st floor and told that 1st floor was completely booked to find no lights on at night and parking lot at 1/8th capacity. Tennis rackets had no grip tape and balls were flat then told the tennis guy comes in January to tape the rackets- wow really one single guy's job annually is to tape the rackets??? Cable and Internet went our ALL DAY on SATURDAY and was told they would still charge me for the Hotel Fee paid for such services. Asked for a checkout extension was told the place was fully booked for the Sunday. Not a cent is put into any kind of maintenance. Call reception and they have an answer for every single thing that always puts the blame on someone else. I WILL NOT GO HERE AGAIN!!! BEWARE PEOPLE!!!
