Had a great afternoon with some girl I met at the gym and she also thought it was a very tidy place we had a lovely meal there too and a really great stay in the room 😘will definitely have to go again soon maybe with differences girl next time though

I haven't stayed here but I have a Tastecard (dining discounts) and this hotel is affiliated. Monday, 17th July at 6.15 pm (approx) I telephoned to reserve a table for my wife and I at 7.00 pm but after a hold of about 5 minutes was disconnected so I decided to set off as it was in our direction home and my wife made the call as we were driving; when her call was eventually answered she was told that to use our taste card we had to telephone 24 hours in advance so we went elsewhere but I was annoyed. I later checked the Tastecard website on my iPad and there was no mention of having to telephone the previous day even though the instruction that telephone bookings were required was clearly stated. How busy would the restaurant have been at 7.00 pm and either how inflexible can the hotel's policy be or how stupid the Receptionist to turn away business. The "elsewhere" that we went was another Holiday Inn ('great' review later) for whom I didn't have a telephone number so we just arrived and said we had a Tastecard; we were warmly welcomed and shown to a table in a restaurant less than half full - smarter business.
Very pleasant stay. Made very welcome from check-in to check-out. Restaurant/bar staff very friendly and helpful. Only criticism would be the in-room air conditioning, which was noisier than normal, possibly the water pipes. 2nd stay here and would definitely stay again!
I’d echo what other reviewers had said about the staff being very pleasant and helpful. The hotel itself was perhaps a little dated but the facilities were fine and the staff were good. I went for a business meeting and a stayed the night beforehand. Both the hotel stay and the meeting facilities were faultless. The hotel had free wi fi and ample free parking.
Stayed 1 night, B&B which @£93 was considered to be quite expensive. I had a ground floor room overlooking the grass bank which was very quiet with the window closed. The only noise was the occasional gurgling of the air-conditioning until which was mostly switched off during my stay or the whining radiator. Corridor noise was the usual HI door banging and passing foot traffic. The room was quite well appointed but rather dusty upon arrival. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. WiFi was excellent throughout the hotel. I ordered a curry in the bar which was runny, bland and contained barely any meat, certainly not worth the £13.95 price tag. Also the wait for a pint of Boddingtons to be poured and settle was a joke. Thankfully all was redimed at breakfast which was hot and tasty. I would stay here again but would probably eat out to avoid further disappointment
A clean friendly stop over hotel just off junction 40 of the M1. The room was clean and well appointed. The reception staff are professional, polite and helpful. We did not have breakfast as the price was a bit too expensive. However, we would stay again.
You know what to expect with a Holiday Inn, clean, functional, pretty soul-less, but actually the staff were excellent! I was impressed with check in and the friendliness of all the staff we spoke to. Breakfast was OK, the drinks were expensive. The location is really good, just off the motorway.
Myself and a friend came last week for afternoon tea and though the sandwiches looked good. They weren't to our taste as neither myself or my friend like Gherkins. However the staff were friendly and helpful in offering an alternative. I feel that it would be nice if there was a choice of having crisps with it or a little salad with the sandwiches. Otherwise it was a fantastic spread and extremely satisfactory.
Well what can I say the hotel was brilliant except it was out in the middle of nowhere.we stayed one night with a coach party and if were ever in Wakefield again we would definitely stay here.rooms are spotless
