Room was smaller than other places we stayed at in Japan. Clean, friendly staff, and had all the amenities needed. Nothing too fancy about this place so would rate it as average. The staff were fantastic as they helped me retrieve my lost necklace after I checked out and shipped it to me at my new hotel in Kyoto.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a room with a double bed - overall it was a good hotel for what we needed (a place to sleep). Staff were very pleasant and welcoming and they had extra amenities in the lobby to take if you needed which was great. Some things to note - these were not deal breakers for us but might be helpful to know. The closest metro is about an 8-10 minute walk. It’s more than doable but something to think about. 15 minute walk to Dotonburi which is nice as you can wander on your way there The bathroom had a bit of a smell to it, but was clean. It was quite small (which seems standard) The room is very small (again to be expected) - if you’re traveling with more than a carry on sized bag you’re going to have a tough time. There is a supermarket a couple blocks over which was great as there is a mini fridge in the room!

The worst property we have ever stayed at. The moment we walked in we could smell smoke as they have the smoking room right next to the lobby. This was a heavy smell everytime you walked through the lobby. We went to bed (2 x adults and 2 x kids) and none of us could sleep as the bed was sticking into our ribs and body it was like sleeping on the floor! We could also hear the person sleeping next door snoring through the walls also not letting us sleep. Paper thin walls. We spoke to staff at 2am that we wanted to cancel the rest of our reservation due to the poor conditions of the room and hotel. How anyone stays here is beyond me and how they are still operating is also beyond me. Why Expedia would let them on their platform isn't a great reflection on the quality of operators. Stay anywhere else but here especially if you have kids. Management was horrible and initally said they would give us a partial refund for the rest of our stay but instead refused to refund anything and just greedy and kept all of our reservation money. I just hope I can stop others from.booking into such a crap hotel and avoid losing money like we did.

I asked for 2 single beds, for my son and I, i wasnt told they would be bunk beds. It was only 1 night so it was fine. Very small room and bathroom compared to other places in japan we'd stayed in. Could not even open the suitcase, thats how small the area was, had to use the bed. The bathroom, as lovely as it was, again, im a short person, and my knees touched the wall when i sat on the toilet. As i said, it was 1 night so we made do. Close to train station and dotonbori for shopping. The hotel has a big reception area with tables to be able to eat, charge your phone and hangout with board games etc so that was a nice touch and the staff very lovely. A room to leave your suitcase after checkout as well, as we had a few ours to kill before heading to the airport.

Hotel Sanrriott SHINSAIBASHI ranked high on my list for being the smallest twin beds room i had stayed in Japan. So small that we need to open our 28inch luggage on our bed. HOWEVER, will still book it if it offer cheapest rate for twin beds room in this zone. Why its given 4 stars? At most 3 stars for being still new. Breakfast very simple, only Jap pickles w rice, Coffee & Orange juice. Pro is able to store out luggage after checkout. No own carpark, but able to find 1 around the hotel, a few buildings away.
