I've stayed here all six times that I visited universal studio's. It's an older hotel, but the service, accessiblility and breakfast buffet make it worth the trip. Its close to the train station, and there are many great places to eat, and shop near by. Nothing element, but it's always been clean, and you can get tickets in the lobby.
Nice hotel and we got a free upgrade to character rooms. Loved the rooms and the views are excellent. We could see the USJ right out of our windows!! No regret choosing Kintetsu hotel. There are lots of restaurants and convenience stores just right beside our hotel.
The second we got off at Universalcity station I was impressed with how close the hotels were to the park! Just a few minutes to check in, no problem with little Japanese speaking ability. These hotels pride in being able to satisfy everyone's needs equally. I was very impressed with the staff. I booked a two night stay with breakfast included and they gave us vouchers for both days so we tried both the Japanese style buffet at Ootoya and the Western style at Epoch (more family based), both were absolutely delicious. Breakfast is served from 7-10am and we generally went down around 9am and were walked right in, plenty of free dining space. Free slippers and badge holders for USJ, and lots of photo opportunities. We didn't end up visiting USJ, but the view of it from our room was lovely <3 would absolutely stay here again the next time I visit. Super fast to get to cool places in Osaka as well like the castle (190yen) or Osaka station(180 yen). Also, there is a vending machine room for some hot foods/drinks on the 3rd floor if you need a late night snack, as most of the nearby restaurants close around 10pm.
Although I did not stay at this hotel ; however after a full day of Universal Studio and we missed our hotel bus ( we stayed near the Hyatt Regency), we were too tired to navigate the train/subway back; 6 of us wandered into the hotel lobby since it was convenient located in the Univesal walk- the lady at hotel staff greeted us with a warm smile. We asked her to help us to get a taxi and told us ( I told her we didn't stay at her hotel) but that was not a problem for the great customer service- she ran to the phone and started making call for us. A gentleman , I think his name tag was Nakato or Takano approached her and said something- our hearts sank cuz we thought he told her not to waste her time with non guests because her face was not happy. But it turned out that the taxi company told her that there was no vehicle can accommodate 6 of us- THANK YOU to Mr Nakato/Takano- he told her to request 2 taxi. He ran back to us to confirmed it was okayed for 2 taxi... whew! Then the lady told us to go to the first floor lobby and look for taxi #319 and 518 ; we were like oh great how we were gonna do that. So we headed for the elevator, Mr Nakato/Takano chased after us , got into the elevator with us, walked us to the taxi stand, waited with us u until both corrected taxi showed up, show and explained to the taxi drivers where we were headed ....we were soooo exhausted and relieved that all of us just jumped into the taxi and quickly left without a proper thank you (although he remained on the stand and bow goodbye to all of us). This type of great hospitality and customer would definitely earn 5 stars and we would definitely stay here the next time we visit Osaka ! Thank you to the Kintetsu staff for your great customer services !
Visit in June 2017.My room is 19th floor. definitely will come back. -The room is spacious, comfy bed. -all amenities is adequate -the location is incredibly near with USJ. From lobby 3th floor just 2min walk. -fast wifi on the room. -many restaurants and 3 (THREE!) Lawson supermarket that open 24hr around hotel. -Connected with universal train station. To go to shinsaibashi just buy 160Y ticket to nishikujo. Then after exit, change to Hanshin line to osaka namba 200Y. For breakfast u can choose japanese style 4th floor or continental in 5th.i try both. Continental is provided more variety foods.
Room and bathroom is already outdated but clean. There is no complimentary bottled water. When I asked the front desk, they advised me that I can drink from the tap water. I got turned off that there is no complimentary bottled water comsidering their rates is not cheap and this hotel belongs to a chain of hotels in Japan. To Hotel Kintetsu Management, having a 2 bottled water daily is usually a common complimentary of hotels worldwide but why is this not part of your room stay? Worst, your front desk will ask your guests to just drink the water from the faucet. I hope you will consider giving your hotel guests complimentary bottled water.
Lovely hotel, my son enjoyed his birthday trip here, thank you very much. Stayed 4 nights, though only minimum hotel facilities offered, it is conveniently located in the middle of Universal City Walk with lots of shops and restaurants, also a short train ride to Osaka station, transportation is not a problem.
My family stayed in the hotel 1night . The location of the hotel is great for people tend to enjoy USJ. Service up to standard. The room was a little bit small but well designed. I also enjoyed very much the view of the Harry Potter wizarding world directly from the room. There is a smocking lounge in the lobby floor and lot's of vending machines in the next room for beverages. To sum up, it's a very good experience to stay in this hotel this time.
Just came back from staying at this property for 3 nights only ( wished could be more ) from 15th March till 18th March. Location of this property was perfect for visiting USJ. Just stroll for about 3 minutes and you will be at the front gate of USJ. Perfect!!!!!!! The character room that we booked was clean, bed were comfortable, bathroom was neat and tidy. All the staff that we were in contact with were all very friendly, knowledgeable, warmth, courteous and always with a smile on their face. Nothing were too troublesome for all of them even after asking them abundance of questions. And not forgeting, there is a Universal Studios store within the property to buy last minute stuff. Would easily recommend this property to anyone who wanted to visit USJ. A BIG KUDOS to all the staff at Hotel Kintetsu Universal City and a job well done.
We chose this hotel because the convenient distance for our Universal Studios visit and good pricing even though it is one of the official hotel of the theme park. I wish hotel staff would be more prepared with speaking in English as the reception team could not clearly convey some important things for us during check in, which can get frustrating when you're tired after traveling to the city. A lot of things needed much improvement such as more lighting, room cleanliness, the lack of international channels and overall comfort of bed and chairs in the room. It's a good thing that the bathroom was very clean. Another good thing is that we got a good view of the park and made the stay feels special.
