Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

3.5 out of 5.0

My family and I stayed at Martinique July '17. We knew going in there would be construction, but I felt like the description of the impact didn't reflect reality. The property itself was run down. Shabby rooms, shabby decor, shabby exterior, shabby grounds (if Disney is trying to emulate the third world aspects of the Caribbean, they nailed it). It also kind of felt like the staff was on "Island time" - 45 minutes to check in is just not reasonable. There was only one proper restaurant open on the entire property and it was absolutely terrible in terms of food quality. The pool was decent (though the amount of chlorine in the was unbelievable) but we only got to enjoy it a few hours as the power went out. In July. When it 95 degrees and incredibly humid. For four hours. In the entire resort (including or no longer air conditioned room). Disney's budget properties were well above this resort. Really disappointing.

A bunch of places are being refurbished, including the main restaurant area and gift shop. Room Service had a 75 min wait for a pizza delivery. We had to ask them to change the sheets two nights in a row since we found stains on them. Still, the hotel is nice. I'm guessing that it's really beautiful when half of it isn't being blocked up for reconstruction. The rooms have a bit more space than the ones on value resorts.

Even though under construction, staff did everything needed to make accommodations work. The bus service within the resort and within the park was great. Our grandson loved the pool!

Clean room but for the price I would expect more of an update.

The pool was very nice, the rooms were decent size with a lot of counter space ( I pack a lot, including a blender for my morning smoothies). I gave the facilities a 4 because they were under construction and the food court and gift shops were closed at this time. I will stay again!

short walk to catch the bus to different areas of disneyworld. buses run every 20 minutes so not much wait time.

Our daughter and granddaughters were staying at the Caribbean Beach hotel. On our reservation (made weeks in advance ) we requested to stay in the same building. My daughter confirmed our request when she checked in and was assured our request would be honored. When we arrived we were told that there was no availability in that building and we were placed in a building at the total other side of the resort. It ruined our whole vacation.

We splurged for one night and made a reservation in a pirate room. You should have seem the size of our kids' eyes when we opened the door! Every detail was thought of in true Disney form - the dresser was disguised as old stacked crates, the beds were pirate ships, the curtain rod was a sword, and on and on. My son studied the different pirates ships printed on the shower curtain for quite some time. The main building was made to look like an outdoor market (but you're still inside). The main pool area had water slides themed inside of old pirate fort. The life guards were extremely attentive, yet always pleasant. We rented a surry bike for our family and biked around the whole resort on a beautiful paved path (used for running as well). We weren't here long, but it was definitely worth the splurge!

Nice clean hotel with friendly staff, great pools and good food.

I travel to Orlando for work a lot & this time, decided to splurge & book a Disney Resort. The Caribbean Beach Resort was affordable & I was eager to experience a little "Disney magic" during my downtime. The Resort is actually much larger than I expected, so my colleagues & I needed to drive or ride the internal shuttle bus to get together. The shuttle is super convenient, though, stopping every 15 minutes or so, so it worked out. The Resort does look a bit dated, with pastel colored buildings & funny 1980s "leaded glass" lighting. It was a bit like staying in a condo or townhouse. The rooms have big windows, but they all open onto the walkways of the buildings, so if you opened your curtains, everyone passing by would see you. I know the Resort is under reconstruction right now. I hope they will find a way to make the windows more private. Adding balconies to some rooms would be nice, too. Again, because every room opens onto the walkways, there's room for sitting outside, but you'd be sitting out in the open, where people are passing by. We were especially appreciative of the free shuttle to Disney parks & Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney & Pleasure Island). We went to Disney Springs for dinner & shopping twice & it was really easy & convenient.

hotel is very nice and very clean had good food and nice pool

We have stayed at several Disney properties. We prefer to stay here. It is quiet, clean, and you can park your car close to your room. Always a great stay here. We have never had a problem. We will be back again.

We spent the entire day at Epcot and checked in at 10 pm. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The resort was fun and expansive

very pleasant and well themed hotel on disney property.

The hotel was nice, clean and very friendly staff. The only complaint I have is in regard to the buses. The bus service and timing could be better. There should be more internal buses for people who just want to go from their hotel room, to the food court, pools, and hotel lobby. I waited almost 15 minutes just to get from my room to the food court, and an additional 15 minutes waiting to get back to my room. Having stayed at other Disney resorts, I know that this is an issue that can be easily resolved.

We love the feel of this resort - from the colors, the scent of coconut in the Custom House to the room decor. The staff was all wonderful - even after our very late arrival at almost 1 am due to weather delays. Our room actually slept 5 - even though it was just the 2 of us.

Hurricane aside, this resort is now one of our favorites at Disney. Very comfortable stay with great amenities, awesome pools and our favorite "Centertown". We'll be back!

Great location, good price. Be aware maid service only changes sheets every 4 days. I was told you must ask if you need them changed sooner.

Staff went out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. The only complaint is that it was very cold inside the main building, perhaps a Disney thing, their buses were freezing cold as well. Aside from that I was very impressed.
