Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort

While you don't spend much time in the hotel room (or you shouldn't!) the room was fantastic with great views of the lake! It was spacious, clean, well designed and within walking distance to Magic Kingdom. We stayed 5 nights in a two bedroom room. It had a small kitchen in case you wanted to bring food and cook, two balconies off of each bedroom and plenty of space to unpack and make the place your own for a week. Disney always does things right and the service, design and view was great.

Excellent service and location. Had to stay during Hurricane Irma but the staff was on top of everything. Conveniently located if you want to stay in Disney. Very clean and food was also great. Definitely would stay again.

I personally love the Magic Kingdom. It's my favorite park. Even as my children aged, we still frequent this park the most. So, when it came time to buy the DVC (Disney Vacation Club) membership, we decided we wanted to stay as close to our favorite resort (The Contemporary) as we could. We were thrilled with this resort. My top reasons: 1) The size of the rooms - Regardless of which one we pick, we have ample amount of room. As my children age, bringing a friend became an option. We let the first friend to come stay in the 2nd bedroom, the youngest gets the pull out couch (which is COMFY!). When it comes to taking both kids' friends, the 2 bdrm will serve us well. Plus, Mum and Dad have a SEPARATE bedroom for some childless time. 2) The proximity to the Magic Kingdom - After a LONG day at the park, NO ONE wants to wait in line to go home. We run ourselved ragged in Disney, I'm sure we're not the only ones. Cranky, crying kids on a bus or monorail sounds like my idea of Hell, so we stay here. We can walk to the "house". And it's a short walk, lots of flowers and lizards to peek at, to keep small ones entertained. Plus, it cuts down on our "wait" time. 3) Running path - I know this sounds like a stupid reason to love a resort. And with all the walking you do, an estimated 9 miles per day, why care about a path? Because, it's my thing. I need it to keep my head level. So having a well lit path with decent cement to run on is a huge plus for me. I like to run REALLY early or REALLY late. So, the lights are important. I suggest this resort for ANYONE coming for their first trip. If you can get the Castle View, GET IT. Small insider tip, the 4th floor and up in the Bay Lake View is less money than Park View. BUT! From the 4th floor up, the balcony turns just the right way, you can see the Magic Kingdom Fireworks.

This was our second stay at BLT, and we had an amazing time. It's quiet and we never heard noise from the other rooms, ever, We stayed in a lake view, one bedroom villa and it was absolutely perfect. Two full bathrooms made getting ready a breeze. We enjoyed having freshly brewed coffee each morning from the comfort of our room, and we watched the water parade from our balcony nightly. Also the convenience of walking to and from MK is worth the nightly rate. We did have a slight issue with the clothes dryer which was resolved within minutes of calling maintenance. The Wave of American Flavors and Contempo Cafe were really great places to dine. (a short walk to the Contemporary) Also we stayed on the 5th floor, which enabled us easy access to the Contemporary. My only negative comment is that the buses aren't very swift. But the benefits definitely outweigh this one negative.

Out of all the luxury resorts on Disney property, this is probably the worst of them all. I don't know if it's the design of the whole thing or what, but the atmosphere comes off as kind of stark. The rooms are incredibly small for what you pay for, and the cast members here don't really seem to like their job at all. My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon, and they really just fell flat. No congratulations, not really even a smile, which was odd. We luckily later switched to the Polynesian for the latter part of our week, and they made up for it big time! I wouldn't recommend this resort at all--you'd probably be better off even staying at the regular Contemporary.

This was the third time we visited Bay Lake Tower and everything was perfect. Staff, facilities and grounds all excellent. The resort is very easy to get around and it is not very big which makes it hard to get a reservation.

Bay Lake Tower was a great place to stay. We had park view and were able to watch the fire works each night. The rooms were clean and you could use the walkway over to contemporary to ride the monorail and get snacks. Definitely recommend

The best asset is the staff super helpful never a dreary tone. The problems are as follows. 1. Fire alarm had change battery chirp when first entering the room. Called to have it fixed new person had me call the emergency number sigh. We went to dinner came back still the alarm chirped. The next day the shower faucet did not. Shut off ever. No fix just hyper torqued lever. Third, floor was soaking wet because of unclean drain. Took two days to find and fix. Finally, the Magic express was not scheduled to pick us up even though it was supposedly confirmed the first day. So it was rescheduled the day we left ( six hours before we we to leave) the bus failed to pick us up we finally got onto one 45 minutes later. We heard the cb radio an hour seven minutes later that two people were a no show for pick-up at Bay Lake. Lots of grumbling sorry, just frustrated. I would give the 4 out of five without these problems but with them only a two out of five.

We checked in yesterday at 5pm We received a note that read your water will be turned off from 11:30-4pm tomorrow. I'm paying $500 plus a night because there is NO FLA RES RATE for this property. CAN U IMAGINE--paying $514 per night and YOUR TOILET WONT FLUSH, U CANT TAKE A SHOWER OR BATH AND IN CENTRAL FLA ITS 90 degrees?!? Now it is 4:45pm WATER IS STILL OFF TO EVETYONE IN BUILDING BECAUSE OF COMPLICATION. I have been to Disney resorts since the early 1980s, this is their DELUXE Category and this is COMPLETELY UNSANITARY AND SMELLY. I hear ppl outside my door are getting annoyed--they were told to wait in line and shower at the gym---SOOOO NOT THE DISNEY TOUCH. I HAD THIS THEORY THAT IF I STAYED ON DISNEY PROPERTY AND PAID FOR THE DELUXE CAT THAT I WOULD HAVE A SAFER ABD COMFY ENVIRONMENT. Walt Disney would be rolling in his grave if he could see what Disney now provides us got $500 plus a night---I need to get in my car to find a clean public restroom now---this is sooo low class!

We had a suite, it was lake view and park view. We had an amazing view of the 'Happily ever after' fireworks at the magic kingdom. Even though the Contemporary has a monorail station, as it is the closest, the Magic Kingdom is within walking distance. Having the contemporary is great, there is a gift shop, restaurant, convenient shop, cafe, chef Mickeys and a bar. You have access to two different swimming pools which both have water slides!
