Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort3.5 out of 5.0

We loved everything about this resort. Our room was a lake view on the 5th floor, which was perfect when walking to/from the Contemporary resort (where we caught the monorail). The kitchen was fantastic and laid out very well. The first night we had a one-bedroom king suite, and nights two-eight we added a one-bedroom lock-off suite. The one-bedroom lock-off had a small galley style kitchen, full bath, and one queen bed. I can't say much about the kitchen in the lock-off room, because I didn't use it, (that room was for our daughter), and our soon slept on the pull-out sofa bed in the main king suite. We always find the pull-out sofa mattresses difficult to sleep on, but we brought our own memory foam mattress pad, which helped our son sleep exceptionally well. The staff, from the front desk, to the housekeepers were outstanding. Minor issues we had were quickly and professionally handled. The highlight of staying at BLT is going to the DVC members-only Top of the World lounge. Extraordinary view, great beverages. Would I recommend this resort, YES! Will I stay here again, YES. Sadly though, I need to save up some more points before I can do it again anytime soon. BEST RESORT on Disney property. Thanks Mickey and Minnie for a great family vacation!
We are DVC members and just love staying at Bay Lake Tower. This is our 5th stay and we booked a standard view one bedroom. Our room was on the 4th floor and had a view in one direction of the lake and tennis courts and looking the other way of Space Mountain and just the top of the Castle. The room was recently updated with new carpet, drapes, new coverings on furniture, etc. Plenty of room for our family of four with two bathrooms! This visit our room wasn't ready until 4:00 - but we received a lovely gift from the hotel of chocolate dipped strawberries, a white chocolate monorail and hand made chocolates! Nice surprise! We love the pool, the location, the views and the being connected to the Contemporary for shops, restaurants and the monorail. This is our favorite DVC hotel with the Grand Floridian as a close second.
Stayed three nights before a cruise on Oasis in the Gran Villa. Beautiful room with more than enough space. The grounds are very nice. Only gripe is the hotel itself could be nicer looking. The pool area is ample, with spots that can be found with a bit less noise. Definitely would stay here again.
Bay Lake Tower is a tough reservation to get but totally worth the effort! We had a Lake View studio with a view of the Contemporary. Room was smallish but the design made it seem bigger. The kitchenette has an extra ledge to stash your park supplies keeping clutter to a minimum in the main sleeping/living area.. Recently remodeled room was comfortable and a great place to recharge midday. Only cons are proximity to resort amenities (dining, shopping) and the walk through the parking lot to Magic Kingdom. The closeness to the park is fantastic, but the parking lot is kind of a bummer. Rooftop viewing of fireworks for DVC members is great!
My family and I just returned from Bay Lake Tower. There were 12 of us in total staying in the villa. The room was perfect for us. It had a huge living room, kitchen, 3 bedrooms and laundry room. There were balconies off of each room. We had a theme park view and had a great view of the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom too. We are DVC members and used our points for the room. If not, we could never have afforded such a luxurious room. It was a fantastic time and I would highly recommend Bay Lake Tower.
How else can you describe watching the castle from your bed? Sitting & seeing fireworks from the bed while eating room service is the best, walking across to magic kingdom for dinner & rides? Lovely:) the hotel is fantastic & club level is the best, hard to describe, the service here is top notch, catch a bus or monorail "depending on which park or resort " and your off to a day's worth of magic, can't wait to stay here in August:) you definitely won't regret staying, you will only want to stay longer & repeat!
We stayed in a two bedroom for the first time. Delayed getting in room due to late cleaning. We got in around 5p not 4p checkout time. Kitchen trash was overflowing when I opened up the cabinet. Recycle, trash and all. The previous guests did not take out anything to the appropriate rooms they could on their floor and mousekeeping did not take out the recycle or trash either. There were no clean bags in the bottom of the bins for me to take and place outside of room and put new bag in. We called the front desk. A manager came up, took care of the trash and recycle and gave us half of our DVC points back we used on the room as a way of expressing her apology for us finding this which was unaceptable to her. We love staying at Bay Lakes due to the closeness to Contemporary, monorails, food selections and the Magic Kingdom. This is the 2nd time we have had an issue though during out stay. Couldn't get my pics to load due to computer area. Two bedroom was amazing. So much space, 3 bathrooms, large comfortable beds, large tub, walk in shower, large kitchen. Wonderful Lake view overlooking the pool and gardens below.
My husband and I are DVC members and this was the first time that we stayed at the BLT. We absolutely loved it! We visited in March 2017, taking my mother-in-law, step-daughter and her boyfriend. The location was convenient to virtually everything. The rooms are large, beautiful and well maintained. We had a 1-bedroom and it was perfect for the 5 of us. Having a second bathroom made all the difference when everyone was getting ready in the mornings. And even though we didn't get a room in the area that was requested, our stay was outstanding. We loved it so much that we are going back over Thanksgiving with my side of the family. Looking forward to it.
Our stay at Bay Lake Tower was great for our family. We checked in for a nice 6 night stay, but our check in was not what I expected from a flagship resort (One of the hardest resorts to get in to for DVC). There was no bell men/women there to help. There was one guy telling people where to park but that was it. (we just spent one night at Beach club and our check in was awesome with people helping out right away and working with us due to our room was not ready yet) We had to wait close to 10 min for someone to come get our bags and they where less then friendly, but we got that taken care of. Our check in was just ok, we didn’t get any resort info or any maps of the areas for our resort unlike when you check in at other resorts. They where friendly with our check in and with in an hour our room was ready. We put in a room request for being on an upper floor based on our request and our standard room choice. Our room they gave us was on the 2nd floor, prior to getting to our room we asked for a higher room and they where able to push us to the 3rd floor. We ended up waiting close to 3 hours for as they where cleaning it for that long(After checking on our room about 3 times and finding out it takes 3 hours to clean the room and some guy earning his EARs try and give some crap story how he can’t find out and so on, our room was ready). But once we got into the room we had a great view of some trees that blocked the parking lot view and we could see Magic Kingdom, that was great for the fireworks and just over all magical view. The room was really nice, we had a 2 bedroom and it was large, there was plenty of room for the 5 of us. Some of the carpet was dirty/stained, our fridge had close to 10-15 dents in it, the dishwasher was not in the best shape, it was falling apart and rusted, but the beds were comfy. There was 3 full bathrooms, so there was never a shortage in that area. It was nice to have the full kitchen to cook some meals and not spend to much money in the resorts. Our 4 year old loved the pool and the slide, she went down the slide close to 30 times each time we where there. She loved the zero entry pool and the life jackets where great for us to use. The best part was the walk to Magic Kingdom, it was a nice 10 min walk or less, and that has its own security check point. We spent many or our 6 days at magic Kingdome so the walk was nice and made it easy with our 4 year old and nap times. The down side was the monorail, you had to go through a security check point prior to getting on the monorail and then going to EPCOT, you had to get off the resort monorail and then go over and wait for the EPCOT monorail, once you get to EPCOT, you have then have to go through security again. That is a big time waste. Overall the resort was nice and we will stay here again as its close to the kingdom and with 2 years that’s where we will be.
I come to Disney World in FL almost every year with a group of friends and our collective children. If you plan to spend at least 25% of your time or more in the Magic Kingdom Park, the best place to stay is here. The rooms are relatively new and very clean. The nightly fireworks visible from the Top of the World lounge. They. Even steam in the music during the nightly firework show up there. They have a full bar and food items/desserts. The staff is over the top friendly. You can walk right from the resort to the Magic Kingdom. The Contemporary is right next door. Super convenient, awesome staff (here they are called Cast Members) and nice rooms with a washer & dryer in one bedrooms and larger make this the perfect Disney stay.
