Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort3.5 out of 5.0

Bay Lake Tower maxes out the Disney experience. A genuinely beautiful hotel, a step away from the fracas of the other resorts, but with the monorail and Contemporary Resort at your fingertips. This was my third stay at Bay Lake Tower and I cannot imagine staying anywhere else. Whereas the other monorail resorts have always felt hyper-busy and somewhat dated in my view, Bay Lake truly has the best of both worlds... The rooms are perfect for families, with ample room, great baths, and amenities. The staff is terrific, providing housekeeping with a flourish (towels in the shapes of a swan). While I have never stayed at the Four Seasons, as a total package with the monorail, Bay Lake gets two ears up!
Stayed here for six nights from 22nd December and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a Bay Lake view studio for our stay which was plenty big enough for 2 adults and one child. The room was lovely and our view from the balcony was excellent, loved watching the monorail go by. This is definitely the perfect location if you want to be on the doorstep of Magic Kingdom, it’s a god send when leaving the park on an evening and watching the masses wait for the monorail while you walk across to your resort. We would love to stay here again!
Very disappointed in the quality and care we received in our recent trip to Bay Lake Towers in Disneyworld. Our room was very small. We were told there was another room available the next morning and we would get a call, never received the call. The rooms are very expensive and the way the room was left from the previous guest was unacceptable with cheese wrappers and a small container left in the refrigerator. We reported when the hot water on the sink was turned on there was a loud piercing noise and the sink would shake, never fixed!! We asked for an air mattress for my son. It was defective, it took until 12:30 am for another one to be brought up. We reported there was a leak coming from the vent in the bathroom, never fixed!!. We reported the microwave door button was stuck in the " in" position. 2 days to be replaced. On our 4th day of our stay we were offered 1 1/2 days compensation and 3 fast passes and for the 5 days we were there. We told them we already have fast passes scheduled for the last day. The final day I spoke to Mark, a supervisor to get these fast passes and was told no!! In addition to no, Mark was unprofessional, offensive, non caring, unwilling to assist in any way and dismissive!! I would have to sum up the interaction as rude!! We have been going to Disneyworld for approximately 10 years. We expected a room in better condition and impeccable service that we have come to expect from 10 years of quality visits. This room never should have been issued until it was repaired and checked!
We were very happy with our stay at this hotel. Our room was very clean and spacious. The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly, helpful and pleasant. The location is fabulous because of the walking distance to Magic Kingdom and the monorail. There are buses right at your doorstep to take you to the parks that don't have the monorail and to downtown Disney. Everything is at your fingertips. We would definitely stay here again. The only problem we had was with the wristband key thing that didn't work a lot of the time. At least one of had a problem with it every day. Halloween at Disney is also something I would recommend. It is a lot of fun!
We genuinely enjoyed our visit at Bay Lake. The room was spacious and had a great view of the lake. Enjoyed having such a short walk to the magic kingdom. We used the app to check which surprisingly worked well for us this visit. We did however struggle getting on the monorail as well as catching buses at peak times to other parks. We found it easier to walk 10 minutes to the magic Kingdom and catch buses there. Disney’s monorail system might be a tad stretched with all of growth it has experienced around bay lake. Other than that we were very happy with our visit. Check out the top of the world for drinks and fireworks nightly, quite the experience.
This hotel is THE closest to Magic Kingdom. If that is your main objective, perfect! I will say that the rooms are much smaller than that of the Poly next door and the decor has less ambiance. Super-nice and helpful staff and loved The Top of The World, but you can only go if you are DVC and they DO check! Chef Mickey's was moved, but I actually liked it better in the convention area. My worst complaint would be that the food options are minimal unless you are doing sit down every time... Great vacation and hot tub!
What a nightmare week. If this hotel wasn't within walking distance to magic kingdom, it would be empty. The rooms are nice enough- and every room has at least one balcony. The beds are a bit too soft- but the furnishings are decent. The rooftop bar is really quite lovely. Sounds like a dream, right? Oh no. The amenities aren't the problem here: it's the staff. Check-in with Linda was lovely. It's too bad she can't clone herself. She helped me pick out a suitable room that had the best possible view and offered to move me the next day. Problem was that I ended up in the ER the next day with bronchitis. I've been sick since (and yes, I'm still here and still sick). Unable to move the following day, I was promised a top floor room for a room-swap two days later. When it came time to change rooms (on my 8 night trip!), the room had been given away. Lovely. Mercedes was actually rude and condescending and I can't imagine how she is employed in hospitality. Mike was somewhat better and gave us the brush off "nothing I can do" at least with a bit of a smile. Neither were particularly nice about it. As appalled as I am at their front-desk training, my real issue came with the room swap. I left a medical device in the microwave that never was found and I left an Apple TV remote in the sheets of my bed (yes, I was watching some movies while I was super sick in bed). That was also "never found". The maid would have HAD to have seen this as it would fall out when she changed the sheets. I left the maid $10 for cleaning my room as I believe in paying for good service. I tip everyone who is helpful- from check in to maid service - taking care of people is very important to me and I really appreciate honest, hard working folk. I'm just not seeing that here. Four different people have told me that my items are just "gone" and I refuse to believe that. They are here somewhere- they just aren't coming back to me. I own dvc points in another hotel and was thinking of buying some for BLT from Disney directly. All I can say is I'm very glad I didn't. I'd be too sad with the horrible level of service.
We throughly enjoyed our stay at the Bay Lake Towers. Lovely family room, spacious and perfect for a 10day stay with kids. The kitchen gave us the choice whether we wanted to eat in or go out in the evenings. The cherry-on-the-top was the fabulous view we had of the Castle and the fireworks, we could enjoy a show from our balcony every night! The proximity to the Magic Kingdom means you get there first in the morning with out much effort, also there are no delays in getting home at night, just a quick walk. Definitely recommended!
Loved bay lake tower, so close to magic kingdom. If you are not doing meal plan be prepared to pay out and book in advance. Bay lakes most amazing thing is being able to see the fireworks from the bridge to contemporary resort. Or the room if you have park facing. The kids loved it. A nice wee pool and jacuzzi too.
I had an amazing studio overlooking the park. So lovely fabulous location to walk to MK or monorail to Epcot. Only negative is no magnified mirror in bathroom . I know this sounds crazy but if I’m spending deluxe room prices I want to not have to bring a magnifying mirror in my luggage since I’m now unable to see anything close up after 40.
