Excellent, comfortable, GREAT POOL, and BAR. AWESOME VIEW OF MK.... The pool was the best, fun for the kids and enough room for everyone. The dining options are excellent. Lovely home away from home with all the modern touches.
From checked in until the morning we left, everyone went out of their way to make us feel at home...if not better. Room was impeccably clean, Don, the consceire (sp) remembered me by name and it had been many months since my last stay. Was there for business not pleasure but chose to stay there because I knew I could count on excellent service and top class rooms. Will stay there anytime I’m in Orlando whether it’s business or pleasure.
Bay Lake Tower is conveniently located on the monorail line and within walking distance to the Magic Kingdom. We had seven adults in a two bedroom villa. Our villa overlooked the pool and lake. The location was great for relaxing and being able to visit the parks when we wanted to. The marina is nice and there are plenty of amenities. The beds are super comfortable with fine linens. There is a full laundry room within the villa and the bathrooms are amazing.
We were booked into this hotel for 9 nights We were originally booked into a room facing the tennis courts This room received no sun at all during the day After asking to be relocated, we were put on the 16th floor (09) The view was amazing with access to the Top Ot The World Lounge The staff were very helpful and the room clean and adequate
I returned to Bay Lake Tower for the second time this year, and I had another enjoyable stay. I had a standard view studio on the second floor. My room overlooked a half dome that covered a service area, and a partial lake view. I could also see the spires of Space Mountain (I would have been able to see fireworks as well, but I was never in the room at that time. The location of the resort is fantastic. It is just a 10 minute walk from the Magic Kingdom, so it is very easy to get to the Magic Kingdom for park opening, or get back to the resort after the fireworks at night with 30,000-50,000 of your closest friends. Though the room is very visually appealing, Bay Lake Tower lacks a few of the little things that I like in a resort room. There are no sheers on the windows--just heavy drapes. I like to close the sheers and leave the drapes open for a little light in the room, but that is not a possibility here. And why would someone design a bathroom without having a soap holder in the tub/shower? There also isn't really enough room in the bathroom to lay our toiletries/cosmetics (and I was staying alone). The bathroom was poorly designed to begin with when the building opened. The original design had the bathroom sink out in the kitchenette area, and when people complained, they resdesigned it with a slightly less poorly designed option with a small sink area with shelves in the bathroom. If you are a Disney Vacation Club member be sure to plan an evening watching the fireworks from the Top of the World lounge. They pipe in the music, and It is a nice way to spend an evening.
I was extremely disappointed I can not even express how disappointing it was. When I booked this trip I called Disney and booked directly with them. I spoke to a very nice woman told her I was taking my husband for his birthday and our anniversary. I told her I wanted a room at Bay Lake Tower with a water view, all passes to all parks, picture package, food package and anything else they offer. She gave me price I paid in full. I didn't want my husband to have to pay for anything. Lets start with the room... it was very nice... as far as the view if you stood out on the terrace and leaned over then you would have a nice view of the lake. Being the room was nice I was a little pissed about the view but no big deal. So the first day we go to one of the parks it was very hot and oh soooo crowded but we had fun. My husband's favorite park Magic Kingdom we saved that for the night so it would be not so hot and we could enjoy it more. We go to get in and are told its a special Halloween Party and its an extra $200 for admission. My husband was more than willing to pay. I freaked out OMG are you kidding me. The best park and I can't get in. I never asked the woman on the phone how much was anything she gave me total I paid. Now I can't get in... OMG OMG OMG I will NEVER go back. It was hot, crowded and every ride leaves you in a store. Not a vacation for me.
First let me say we own a DVC. Second time staying here in awhile. They now have check in at the lobby here instead of having to check in at the contemporary resort. We got a room on the lake side (too expensive to have a room on the magic kingdom side IMO). Room and resort were very clean, friendly/helpful staff. You can go up to the "top of the world" lounge and view the fireworks from the 16th floor! Amazing view! Pool water was too cold for my taste this time of year but looked nice! The two resorts are connected by a bridge. The restaurants, gift stores and access to the monorails are all inside the Contemporary resort. Just a short walk from BLT. We really enjoyed our stay here again and will be back!
Stay her in July for my Birthday!! We stayed on the 9th floor. I loved how it was attached to the Disney Contemporary Hotel by a covered bridge. From the Contemporary it was a quick ride on the monorail to Magic kingdom. Then from the top floor they have a beautiful lounge where you can have drinks and small bites to eat and watch the fireworks go off over Cinderella's Castle from just out side the lounge area. My only thing I would tell some that was reading this is.. If this is your first time seeing the beautiful firework over the castle DON'T WATCH FROM HERE!! It's not that they are bad from her they are beautiful from here! But the first time watching the fireworks MUST be standing in front of the CASTLE!!! I only this because I'm an annual passholder and go all the time and I always look to do something different each time I go. This was nice and different, but I cant wait to go again to see them from in front of the castle. They are more Magical when your in Magic Kingdom!!! Other than that the resort was beautiful and very clean, like most of the Disney hotel that I have stayed in. and the staff is always Awesome!!
This is a DVC property. I highly recommend searching for DVC rentals & purchasing points to use for this property. It will be cheaper, you will also have access to the Top of the World lounge, which id THE BEST place to watch the fireworks. That being said you can also watch them from the sky bridge between Baylake and the resort. I also recommend the lake view as opposed to the theme park view. Sitting on your balcony after along day at the theme parks looking at the lake is very relaxing. The pool is fantastic! They have afternoon activities for the kids(pool games, dancing!) The Contemporary resort is just a short walk across the bridge, for food, shopping & monorail access. You really cannot beat this location, 10 minute walk to Magic Kingdom, or just hop on the monorail( although that takes about 30 minutes as there are 3 other stops It is very nice to have a kitchen, and laundry in your room. The only issue we had was trying to get a hold of the front desk or concierge. When you dial from your room phone it goes to a central call center( not the front desk at you hotel) and half the time no one answered at all. We would have to go downstairs to get any issue resolved. Not sure if that is the way at all properties or not. That is really the only reason for the 4 stars, as I expect when you pay this kind of money, that "cast members" would be available 24/7
Very convenient to Magic Kingdom (via walkway) and Epcot (via two monorails). Getting back from Epcot will take a lot more time as you will take the monorails back - but the Contemporary is the last stop on the resort monorail. Other WDW parks and locations accessible via bus. Visit the Top of the World lounge to watch fireworks, and if you have time check out the Electrical Water Pageant (usually at 10:15p) for a unique, lesser known attraction. Rooms are smaller than other Disney Vacation Club units, but nice.
