Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa

We stayed for 2 nights and because we're there for Disneyland, we only used our room to sleep, and didn't use the hotel facilities.

My husband and I had always wanted to stay here. We were very excited for it! Our room was wonderful and had nice finishes for being one of the less expensive rooms. The unfortunate part for us was all the construction going on in the hotel. They were remodeling rooms down the hall from us and the lobby area. It definitely took away from the overall experience of staying there. We enjoyed our time there, but look forward to going back when the construction is complete.

Hotel is beautiful but a lot of construction going on during our stay. Only thing a suggestion is creating or having a better system for magic hour. By the time we got into the park it was 10 mins left of magic hour.

My husband was drying off after a shower and reached for a towel on the towel bar and started drying off. He soon discovered a horrible smell. He thought maybe a sewer backup. But nope, the towel had feces all over it. The towel was folded and not noticeable from the hanging position. He was mortified! Re-took the shower and called the manager. The manager compensated us $550. That was okay, but we still have no answers. So discussed!

We got 2 adjoining rooms for a party of 6. The only reason we stayed here again is the proximity to the park. The hotel is too dark and gloomy for us. Room was small, chair was too snug for the average adult. We couldn't get comfy there. Shower/tub, older looking and bathroom was snug. Staff was very good, curtious and helpful. Restaurant staff not so friendly - cool.

We stayed here for the weekend in August. The hotel is incredibly conveniently located to the parks. The entrance directly into California Adventure is particularly convenient. The rooms are comfortable and the room service was very fast. Housekeeping was great and very helpful when we dropped a small toy off the balcony. Someone came in immediately to retrieve it with a long grasper! There was construction in the hotel near our room, so I would recommend at check in to make sure your room is not near any of this. If you are at the parks all day it wouldn't be an issue, but we came back in the afternoon to have our toddler nap and could hear the drilling. I am just happy that he was so exhausted, he was able to sleep through all of it. It is our second time staying at GC, and I would definitely stay here again.

We were graciously upgraded to a downtown Disney view from a pool view. We also had the pleasure of experiencing an updated room. One of the best hotel stay experiences. It put us in such a good mood and we had a great time.

The first night we stayed in an old room and quickly changed rooms. The new room are nicer with lots of plugs and iphone USB plugs. Double Shower which I wasn't sure about for small kids but the one on the wall is adjustable to little people sized. The daybed/couch is great, easy to open and put away and a nice place to sit. We did the club level with the food which I really liked.

Amazing hotel and the best place to stay (if have the funds) when going to Disneyland.

Great to be so close to the theme park. Paid extra for pool or theme park view. Wasn't informed that pool would be closed due to construction for our entire stay. Not much of a view there. Nice shuttle service to Disneyland Hotel pool though. Have stayed here before. Not sure high price is justified, especially during construction.

Yes the hotel needs a renovation! Ancient telephones, which one didn't even work. For being the more upscale hotel on Disney property, it shouldn't didn't feel or rooms didn't even look like it. Bathroom looked like a lower end a holiday inn, very small and not "grand" at all! Housekeeping needs training, as there was mold in the sinks, dust all over the room, stained and very rough towels, urine on the base of the toilet, lighting was bad, very dim.... you get the picture. The service recovery with the Disney staff was very adequate, as I felt they went above and beyond to help make our stay more pleasant. We ended up changing rooms from the courtyard side to the Downtown Disney side which was a much better view. We enjoyed 2 dinners on the balcony (room 4151 was excellent, right above Sephora) people watching and listening to live music. By midnight the noise did die down and did not affect our sleep. Thank you to Christina, Collin and Mari for going above and beyond, we truly enjoyed the rest of our stay minus the above issues. Hopefully, we will get to try this place again once the renovations are done and actually be able to say all positive things!

We love the comfort, convenience, scrupulously conscientious staff, everything.

Comfortable stay. I stay at this hotel every year because of how close it is to the parks. Being a hotel guest here automatically grants you Early Entry every morning to one of the 2 parks.

Nice place my family love the hotel and we goin next year too

Direct entrance into California adventure, clean, super friendly staff, beds are SO comfortable, best Disney hotel hands down

Did not get the room type we requested. Has all the appearances of a time share (DVC) type facility as the room showed significant "wear". The sheer curtains we tattered and dirty, one of the sinks in the bathroom was cracked, the toilet seat was loose and wobbly, and the room temp control was not very responsive. Have stayed in many hotels in the same price range and this one does not belong in that league. Would not stay there again - very disappointing. The location and staff were great. In the future, we would probably stay elsewhere and save a bunch of money. They had a great "on stage" presence/ambiance, however once you leave the more public areas, the facility begins to fall short.

Extremely quiet room. Very close to the entrance to the parks making it convenient for returning mid day. We have stayed at all three of the Disney owned hotels at Disneyland and this was our favorite. Orbitz made it easy for us to stay here and we will book through them again the next time we visit.

The only good thing about this hotel is the entrance to California Adventures and the proximity to Downtown Disney. We paid the extra $100/night for a "premium" view and got a pool view blocked by a tree. The beds are not comfortable and bounce with every movement. Not good for light sleepers. For ~$500/night (and I got a "deal") I expected at least a nice pillow top mattress or something. I see that it's going for the no frills lodge feeling but at least have quality furniture. The extra magic hour benefit is ridiculous. We got in line 1/2 hour early and it still took us an hour to get in the park. Once we were in, we were able to go on ONE ride before the park opened. Save your money and stay across the street at one of the neighboring hotels or at one of the less expensive Disneyland hotels.

so you need a park hopper ticket to get into both parks, do 1 day each...hotel is just busy, lots of children...most hotels are busy but this one has an entrance into the Adventure Park and you can buy tickets at reservation desk....you could stay further away and walk into the park...it would be cheaper...up 2 u..

Great experience! Rooms could use a bit of updating, but overall we had an amazing time.
