Disney's Grand Californian Hotel and Spa

4.5 out of 5.0

Comfortable stay. I stay at this hotel every year because of how close it is to the parks. Being a hotel guest here automatically grants you Early Entry every morning to one of the 2 parks.

Nice place my family love the hotel and we goin next year too

Direct entrance into California adventure, clean, super friendly staff, beds are SO comfortable, best Disney hotel hands down

Did not get the room type we requested. Has all the appearances of a time share (DVC) type facility as the room showed significant "wear". The sheer curtains we tattered and dirty, one of the sinks in the bathroom was cracked, the toilet seat was loose and wobbly, and the room temp control was not very responsive. Have stayed in many hotels in the same price range and this one does not belong in that league. Would not stay there again - very disappointing. The location and staff were great. In the future, we would probably stay elsewhere and save a bunch of money. They had a great "on stage" presence/ambiance, however once you leave the more public areas, the facility begins to fall short.

Extremely quiet room. Very close to the entrance to the parks making it convenient for returning mid day. We have stayed at all three of the Disney owned hotels at Disneyland and this was our favorite. Orbitz made it easy for us to stay here and we will book through them again the next time we visit.

The only good thing about this hotel is the entrance to California Adventures and the proximity to Downtown Disney. We paid the extra $100/night for a "premium" view and got a pool view blocked by a tree. The beds are not comfortable and bounce with every movement. Not good for light sleepers. For ~$500/night (and I got a "deal") I expected at least a nice pillow top mattress or something. I see that it's going for the no frills lodge feeling but at least have quality furniture. The extra magic hour benefit is ridiculous. We got in line 1/2 hour early and it still took us an hour to get in the park. Once we were in, we were able to go on ONE ride before the park opened. Save your money and stay across the street at one of the neighboring hotels or at one of the less expensive Disneyland hotels.

so you need a park hopper ticket to get into both parks, do 1 day each...hotel is just busy, lots of children...most hotels are busy but this one has an entrance into the Adventure Park and you can buy tickets at reservation desk....you could stay further away and walk into the park...it would be cheaper...up 2 u..

Great experience! Rooms could use a bit of updating, but overall we had an amazing time.

Great place to stay. Rooms were clean and comfy.

The hotel was under some sort of construction when we were there. Our water was turned off one night from 11pm to 5 am. The hotel did warn us properly and gave us 2 bottles of water. The problem was when we got us the next morning we only had scolding hot water! No cold at all. That meant no showers for any of us. I ended up drawing a bath and then getting ice from the ending machine to cool it down. We told the front desk and they were happy to provide us with meal vouchers to make up for it. The hotel is lovely and you just can't beat the location! I would stay here again for sure!

We really enjoyed staying at the Grand California Hotel and Spa. Great place to stay in the middle of everything! We felt a bit privileged to be able to walk right through Downtown Disney and be home! We wish the pool and hot tub would stay open later- past 9 PM for adults but otherwise all was wonderful. We have stayed at other "off site" hotels and have endured the bus trips to and from. For us it was well worth paying extra to be so close and avoid the many lines and the waiting. Definitely will save the little extra so we can stay here again.

Very beautiful hotel and friendly staff in the heart of Disneyland.

Clean rooms, great view, awesome beds, extends the magic of the parks.

This hotel was luxurious!! And exactly what I was looking for in a surprise weekend away trip for my honey, the Napa Rose Restaurant was a sweet surprise as well! Best hotel and restaurant I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. Super comfortable bed too!!!!!

Great hotel and amenities. The pool area is amazing. Very convenient entry to California adventure.

As we are older adults, it was nice that the hotel was close to both parks so that we would not have to walk so far. Admittance to California Adventure was right at the hotel so it was easy to walk right into the park.

The lobby is amazing then you go to your room and with disappointment you see your very out dated room. Front desk staff not very helpful very expensive not worth it. Wifi did not work in the room. They say you should try everything once, Disney you missed the mark on this one!

Disappointing for the "top" Disney-owned property. Not nearly as good as the top Disney-owner Disney World properties. The hotel need an overall refresh as it's showing its age. Pools are mediocre - nothing special. Staff interaction was inconsistent: good sometimes and not good other times. Guest Services staff were consistently no help. Allow A LOT of time if you require Bell Services. Close proximity to the Parks entrance is the reason to stay; if that's not REALLY important to you, then you're better off staying elsewhere.

For our twentieth wedding anniversary we decided to splurge on concierge class at the GC. There were things we were impressed with and some things we weren't. Check in was great as they had a rep meet us at the door and he took us upstairs and privately checked us in. We arrived early to just store our luggage and we had a room within just a few minutes. That was wonderful and unexpected. I didn't really like our room though because it was a handicap accessible room and it had two queens instead of a king. It was our 20th anniversary which they were well aware of. There was also a made up daybed and crib in the room. The man who checked us in said they day bed would be returned to a seating area but it never was. We also had to ask for the water that was supposed to be in our room. The second day our room was not cleaned until 5 pm and it was not finished. The pillows and the decorative throw were never put back on the bed. We also didn't get turn down service that night. These are very small things and normally I wouldn't even care however at the price we paid I think service should be impeccable. The concierge service was very nice and helpful. The food that is served pretty much around the clock was also very good although sometimes the Craftsman room was very crowded and noisy. Overall it was a good stay at a beautiful hotel.
