Great reception and welcome by the front desk--Kurtis Daly. On site breakfast at Denny's. Comfortable beds with great pillows. Good water pressure in the showers. Quiet. We stayed for nearly a week for a family occasion. All staff were very friendly

Sandman have really upped their game since I last stayed at one, which admittedly was many years ago. The room decor here was reminiscent of what I'd usually see in a higher-end hotel - lots of silvers and greys, and a very plush carpet. The bed was very comfortable, and the linens were honestly the softest I have ever slept on. Where do they find sheets like that? The room was clean and well equipped with everything we needed, including nice toiletries, TV, coffee machine, fridge, microwave and free Wi-Fi. It was very compact, though, especially the area around the bathroom door and sink - no maneuvering room at all :-) I didn't sleep very well, because of heat issues. With the AC off, the room was too hot. But the AC unit was quite loud, and only a few feet away from the bed, so it was hard to sleep when it was running. The staff were super-helpful. I had to pop round to the front desk at 12:30am to ask them to check out a weird noise coming from the room next door, and they had fixed it before I even got back into bed. We didn't use the pool or the gym, so can't comment on those facilities. We did notice the car park was full by the end of the night, but we had no problem finding a space when we arrived at 5pm. The hotel is basically right off the main highway, which might be off-putting for some folks, but it means there are loads of options for food and drink in easy walking distance.

I block booked 25 rooms for my wedding weekend. I did this about about 1 year before arrival. I assumed everything was taken care of as I had a reference number and I was told it was all booked. I talked to them about 6 months later and they had no record of a booking. Finally they got it sorted out. That was a bit concerning, but I assumed now it's all sorted. As we sent out invitations, people started calling to book rooms. They couldn't find my reservation anywhere! They were turning people away because they didn't know who we were and didn't book us in. Finally after calling them, they sorted it out...AGAIN. Talk about disorganization. They didn't mention that it was our wedding weekend at all until the day after the wedding, giving attitude to the bride that there was a couple pieces of garbage outside in the parking lot. I mean we don't need to be treated like royalty, but they didn't provide anything extra, and then did that to the bride. Other than that, it's a non-smoking room which smells like smoke. The bathrooms are super awkward, and the bedding isn't good.

Good clean basic hotel that has been recently renovated. Comfortable beds and pillows and great showers with plenty of pressure and hot water. Variety of restaurants nearby and also close to shopping areas. Parking out front can be at a premium however there are additional spots out back. Train tracks are close to this hotel however noise was not an issue. We did not use the pool so can't comment however the fitness room definitely needs an upgrade if they are going to continue to advertise that they have one. For those that like to exercise the recreation centre is close by as well as a few independent fitness centres. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Beautiful, modern room. Very clean. Pool was nice. Friendly staff and everything went really well. Only thing is parking sucks. I backed into a garbage bin. Not impressed. Trucks take up 3 or 4 spaces. Noise level was great... Would definitely stay again.

I found this hotel to be quite accommodating for my needs. The location was good, close to where I work, close to shopping and lots of places to eat close by. The room was comfortable, a good chair and foot stool to sit in while watching tv. A good desk and chair to sit at while doing my computer and paperwork. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchenette had everything I needed. The shower was really good because it had lots of water pressure and hot water.

We stayed at the Sandman in Vernon, BC for 2 nights April 28/29, 2017. The room was a good size with everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. It is very close to all major retail stores. It was very convenient to have a Denny's attached as it is a great restaurant and you don't even have to go outside to go in.

Our team was unable to get a room in Kelowna so our team manager booked rooms here at the Sandman in Vernon. Location was great for our team. We were on the first floor by the outside door.. Was convienent but a bit noisy and seemed to be where the smokers hung out right outside the door.. So either had to walk though clouds of smoke or walk around.. we walked around. Beds were comfortable, bedding was cozy. We had a kitchenette and it was a great plus to the room. The way the bathroom is set up with the sink outside the toilet area was great but it was very cramped if you are getting ready at the mirror and someone is wanting to get in and out of the bathroom. We also had an issue with a dryer on and the fan.. it blew the breaker... but a phone call to the desk it was fixed quickly. Overall for the price it was what we were expecting.

we were up in # 239, the bed was okay. room was nice enough. coffee maker worked well. bathroom very small. ice machine was a mile away ! if I ever stay here again, I want ground floor - NO elevator . getting to lazy to lug my bags up all those stairs ! nice staff, very friendly. we left our truck on the parking lot for 10 days while we were away on tour, and there was no charge - VERY nice !!! did not get a chance to eat in Denny's- but its very convenient, and open 24 hours , I think . this hotel is in a pretty good location ( Vernon is spread out all over the place ) .

Very nice reno done at this hotel. However, a few things just so travellers know. You are only enjoying a bath if you are skinny. The tubs are nice and deep ; I am 6 feet about 220 and barely fit due to the inside molding. Nice to have a fridge and microwave, but the fridge didn't work ; our fault for not having someone come look at it. Also, no elevator in this hotel, so dragging luggage up is a pain. Happens a lot in the older Sandman because of the 2 floor setup. Also, when getting a reno, I fine a lot of Sandmans ( stay at them all over the province) don't install extra new outlets in their renos , just overload power bars everywhere. My wife said the shower was excellent and great hot water pressure here ! Also, the separate sink from bathroom is great, wish all bathrooms in hotels were set up like this ! The AC in the room was great ; and appears to be maintained regularlily. The new bedding the Sandman uses is awesome :) The wifi is a fail. I know all about access points in stores and know this can be a challenge. I also know that a lot of hotels having this issue install routers in every hall or in each room which can solve the problem nicely. Great internet can make or break a hotel stay, especially for business travelers who need to send files etc :)
