Great place
As other reviews mention, it's on the south of the island. It was ideal for us, as Kona and Hilo were both in reach. Great place!

Ocean View Paradise
This was our second time staying at Myra's and it was as memorable as the first. The home is beautiful and clean with all accommodations. The view is breath taking and the property is very secluded and quiet. Perfect distance between both Kona and Hilo.

Wonderful Getaway
Myra's Blue Hawaii House is absolutely delightful! We were so pleased with our host's communication. She gave us suggestions of places to visit and places to eat. She was considerate and so easy to work with. Her place is an absolutely marvelous getaway location. It was located very close to the South tip where we were able to experience black and green sand beaches as well as marvelous sunsets on the south point. The home is stocked with towels and beach supplies as well as heaters if needed and an electric fireplace built into the family room tv stand. The home is very spacious with wonderful thought put into the decor. We loved that there was a binder filled with information about activities. The lanai was completely amazing for space and WHAT A VIEW!!! We cannot say enough positive things about this property and owner! We highly recommend Myra's home for a Hawaii stay!!! Ww also highly recommend the Shaka Guide App to tour the Island!

Perfect for our family
This was a last minute rental and we are grateful for the accommodation. The host was so communicative and supportive as our family recently experienced a great loss to our family. Check in was easy, communication was timely and responsive. The home had everything we needed for our family of 5 and even extras that we didnt expect but appreciated. Thank you very much for sharing your home with us, would definitely stay again!

Myra’s big blue house
Myra’s Blue house was the perfect get away to celebrate our anniversary. The property is very private and well maintained. The long scenic drives to our destinations were filled with so many hidden gems, from road side stands to local farmers markets and off road hiking. Myra’s Blue House is a great ending to days filled with adventure.

Great house, wonderful view, wonderful location for exploring the south of the island
Oceanview is a very small town with not a ton to offer, so definitely recommend stocking up at Costco/Walmart/Target in Kona before coming out here. But once you are here, the place is great. It's a wonderful property nesteled on a hill in Oceanview community. The house is very clean and modern, and very well equipped with towels, beach andbathroom, as well as other beach stuff for use. Spending evenings on the patio watching the sunset was spectacular.
Location itself is rather close to the South Point Park, Punalu'u beach (and bakery), and not terribly far from volcano national park. It's not terribly far from Kona, so we even did a few Kona outings during our stay here.
We are checking out this morning. Had a wonderful time. Thanks Myra and Dan for the use of your lovely property here and thanks for the wonderful suggestions!

Blue House is a Fantastic Place to explore Big Island from!
Between stays at Disney Aulani over on O’ahu and Hilton Waikoloa Village on our honeymoon, my Wife and I stayed at Blue House. Having totally never been to Hawaii, we wanted to experience the state in a few different ways.
Blue House was a great base for exploring the Big Island’s rural south region and accessing the East side of the Island. From here, we drove to / hiked to Papakōlea Beach, and took drives up the East Coast to Akaka Falls State Park and Hawai’i Volcanoes State Park. We were fortunate that Myra recommended we stop at Punalu’u Bake Shop, their pastries and coffee were fantastic.
One of my favorite aspects of Blue House was the deck facing the Pacific Ocean and the Grill out back. Enjoying the Pacific breeze, grilling burgers and kebabs, and having a Kona Big Wave in the evenings was peak relaxation after all our adventures. The sunsets are amazing from the property, and watching showers blow by out on the Pacific is pretty cool.
I recommend, assuming if you’re booking a stay here you’re probably going to be flying in and renting a car, stock up in Kailua-Kona at Walmart before driving down to Ocean View. The small markets in Ocean View are great for fish, meat, produce, things you need fresh, etc but have somewhat limited variety in things like coffee, snacks, etc.
Thanks for the great stay and the memories Myra and Dan!

Great Location
This home is located about in the middle of the island so it's easy to do the Kona and Hilo side. 20 mins to Naalehu and South Point. Oceanview has 2 grocery stores and restaurants. The home fit our needs we cooked most of our meals and saw some great sunsets from the lanai. I would stay here again and again.

Quiet and Private
Arrival: gate was unlocked and open which is a strict part of owners description. One of the doors was also unlocked - unusual but not crazy. The garbage was full and the general cleanliness of the house, mostly in kitchen, was below acceptable. The fridge had product out dated by a year. The sink still had old food remnants. The counters had crumbs. This place needs a good cleaning. We called the manager and she responded promptly. The cleaner came by and addressed the fridge/ counters. When she left; there was still a drawer in the fridge with crap in it. We had to do our own cleaning to make it satisfactory to live in.
Once we got that out of the way, we did very much enjoy our stay. It's very quiet and private. Lots of friendly animals and the views are as advertised. Everything worked and most importantly; the beds were very comfortable.
I hope our experience with the cleanliness was just an anomaly, and no one else has this issue.

The Place to Stay in the Middle of the Big Island
Myra's Blue Hawaii house is the perfect place to stay when you want to do activities on both sides of the island and/or in the south. We spent time in Hilo, Volcano National Park, the south side, Kona and even up North at Mauna Kea. Ocean View is large enough to have several gas stations, grocery stores and restaurants. The house comes with a lot of amenities (the large cooler was great!). The bed was comfortable. The deck has a wonderful view of the Ocean (albeit in the distance). Would we stay here again!

Wonderful stay, great south island location
We really enjoyed our time in this house. Myra was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay and even recommended some great local places that were delicious. The location was perfect to explore the Volcanoes National Park and a few other highlights in the area such as the south point, Punalu'u Beach (black sand), and Papakolea Beach (green sand). Loved the quiet and view while enjoying some downtime on the lanai.

Myra’s Blue Hawaii home is very welcoming!
The house was clean, spacious and wonderfully provisioned. The big surprise was the outstanding view from the Lanai, even on stormy days we could see the ocean and we always had stunning sunsets.
Myra truly cares about your comfort and her staff is professional and friendly. Being there two months we got to meet the folks that care for the water system and the property, everyone was wonderful to work with. Definitely top notch!

South End, Big Island Retreat
Lovely, immaculate home, thoughtfully furnished to meet any need you may have. Spacious kitchen, dining, living room with lots of island charm. Enjoy tropical breezes and sunsets on the large lanai. Comfortable beds and nicely updated bathrooms.
Lots of space between the house and others in the neighborhood. A good location if you want to "get away from it all" but be prepared to drive for most sight-seeing excursions and beach outings. Not many local restaurants, but the Malama Market is convenient and packs an amazing variety of choices into a fairly small space, with a great selection of fresh produce. We visited in winter and wished we'd brought some warmer clothing. Mornings were quite chilly. Owner and manager were gracious and responsive.
