Stayed in Nottingham for a trip with friends. Our check-in was fantastic - nice staff at reception, lovely room, bed looked comfy, bathroom was good and well supplied. Had few drinks at the bar, was also good. Came back after midnight and asked if we could have a late check-out, they offered us a check-out at 1pm which was perfect. Slept very well. And then comes the next day. Breakfast was just okay, the croissants were not properly cooked but most importantly we could hear one member of staff being very rude to one employee, it was very awkward and I couldn't stop thinking about this person and why they have to do that in the communal areas. Then we came back to our rooms to have a proper nap before our check-out at 1pm. But at 11am, housekeeping knocked on my door to clean the room, obviously she didn't know about the late check-out. 20 minutes later, ring from reception saying that check-out is at 11 and the best they can do is 12. Obviously there have been some communication breach between night and day team. I could hear housekeeping talking about our rooms in the corridor. Basically, they were sending signs to make us leave the hotel. We left at 12 as they asked, we didn't want to stay more after that and talked about this to the lady at reception. It left a bad taste in our mouth. So at the end of the day, 4/5 for the arrival, 2/5 for the departure.
Stayed here for a team trip to Nottingham to do some activities and a bit of team building. Trip was great but nothing brought our team together more than the mutual agreement of what a terrible customer service experience you get here. Wow guys you’ve really broken some records here , there are a few member of staff at this hotel that need to pick up their stuff and go to another hotel for they are happy joyful people and do not belong in the dingy morale sucking place such as this. The bathroom was dirty , the rooms smell like an old east end Pub , moved the bed on the hunt for a plug socket only to find condom wrappers sweet wrappers tissues and all manner of items that made me really want to sleep in that bed ! Breakfast do yourself a favor when you go down for breakfast step just outside the hotel go to Sainsbury’s , Maccies ,harvester . Anywhere really but would avoid the breakfast staff like the plague On check out was asked if we enjoyed our stay told them not really took my number for the manager to call me as no point complaining to the reception girl who clearly couldn’t care less anyway. Still waiting for that call ....
Excellent hotel with great all within walking distance of the city centre. Rooms very well appointed and beds very comfortable.Great bar with excellent choice of food, beer and wine. Excellent location to explore Nottingham Castle and also all of the sports venues
Comfortable, convenient and reasonable value for money. Friendly, competent staff. Good English breakfast. Free car parking. Located in a retail park but reasonably close to city centre also. Quiet for sleeping.
Spent one night here, and for the price paid, everything was spot on: friendly, swift check-in; free parking; clean, warm, spacious, comfortable room; great bed with duvet; excellent shower; good breakfast. Within walking distance to city centre (20 mins) along the canal tow path (which can be accessed by walking through the retail park). Great stay! Will return if in Nottingham again.
Stayed here recently for a weekend with my daughter and granddaughter. I booked a family room and was pleasantly surprised to find we had a large room with 2 double beds, so we were all comfortable. The hotel is on the south side of the city, so if you are approaching from the M1, you don’t have to go through the city before you get to the hotel. Set a stone’s throw from the canal, and a tow path that leads into the city, it is also opposite Sainsbury and near a number of chain eateries. We walked into the city -20 minutes maximum - and accessed the many restaurants there. Staff at the hotel are really polite and helpful, and there is a good seating area around reception. We had breakfast on both mornings - a good choice but on a mostly self serve basis. Sunday was very busy and the restaurant cannot cope if a lot of people come down for breakfast at the same time - we saw several families eating at low tables in the bar area. The car park is gated and lit, so cars are safe overnight. I would definitely use this hotel again - comfortable and handy for the city.
Well located, great staff, pleasant rooms, free parking - all made for a great one- night stay. As a Sire Elite member I was upgraded to an Executive room, which was well furnished and light. Comfortable bed and good amenities in the bathroom.
Turned up after booking a family room via booking.com to find out that there was no family rooms available. The response from a lady at reception “was we only have to provide a bed and bath”. No explanation other than its booking.com fault find somewhere else if your not happy. The rest of the staff were polite enough though. When we were finally given a tiny room with a fold out bed for our 12 year old daughter it was the very first room 009 next to the Gym,toilets, reception and bar so you can imagine how much sleep we got. Then the toilet flushed itself throughout the night to top things off.
A typical Holiday Inn with all of the amenities that you would expect from the chain. Our room was comfortable, with no noise disturbance and not too hot as these places often are. The Reception staff could of done with some customer service training, both on booking in and on checking out the same young lady was trying to be efficient but gave off an air of being arrogant and disinterested.
Friendly staff. Clean, well laid out room. It felt more spacious than previous hotels and it was nice for the kids to have a bed rather than a sofa bed. Breakfast met all requirements of 2 picky kids, a full English breakfast lover and a vegetarian. We would stay here again if we were in the area
