Nice and spacious superior room but 2 beds pushed together - one must avoid the middle or end up in a ditch.Only Standard rooms supposed to have kingsized beds. Staff friendly but on check-in was asked to block roomrate plus additionals on creditcard for a prepaid room. Location very good to center of town. Thermal pool a real treat.
We really enjoyed our journey at Radisson Blu. All the staff is very gentle. The cocktails at the bar are a bit disapointing especialy the cosmopolitan with ice cubes. But really nice place : the rooms are cosy and lightful, the food is fine.
I just thought I would highlight feedback with regards our recent stay at your hotel in Baden Baden from 14th Feb -16th Feb . Your hotel and its surroundings are beautiful and highly recommendable. Our room was perfect in every way . Your majority of staff are welcoming , well informed and what I would expect from your reputable chain of hotels . However, on departure this is where it fails. Our check out experience was as follows : We were presented with our check out bill of 514 € which I asked for clarification of . The staff member signposted me to my bill stating " it tells you there " . Again I queried this to be advised " its right " . Breakfast & city tax had been added in error over charging of over 50€ . I accept that mistakes happen and can easily be rectified however this ladies response was atrocious . She huffed and puffed ,proceeded to print off a correct bill and placed this on the counter . There was no apology for the error , no enquire if our stay had been enjoyable all presented in a unprofessional manner . This experience was contrary to the young girl who checked us into the hotel . May I suggest this member of staff shadow this young girl who's service was immecable
The hotel has very comfortable location: 2 min by feet to city center and 2 min to very beautiful park. Very clean room and friendly staff. You can use spa facilities from 7:00 till 23:00. They offer various tea in the pool area. Unfortunately, all medical treatment as massages and some kind of baths not accessible on a weekend. Some of staff in hotel's room service don't speak English. A menu of hotel's restaurant can't offer wide choice of dishes, but they are tasty.
It is our fourth stay at this hotel. We prefer this hotel because of the thermal pools. With all the renovations, the Hotel is better now and will be better in the future. The old Spa and the Pools will be renovated in the near future. The hotel has different faces. At the entrance it feels like a business style hotel. But any other part is historic and charming, also the garden with the thermal fountain. The location is perfect to go anywhere by foot. The road in front of the Hotel can be extremely busy, the rooms in the garden are absolutely quiet. For the car, the only parking place is the dark garage. You need to pay EURO 15 extra for parking overnight. Staff is friendly and helpful. The reception has often a waiting line. We will be curious to see the new Spa and Pool soon. We will be back
The Worst service which you could ever get in hotel. Building, reception and rooms look good for 4 stars hotel like Radisson Blue offered. But service like for 2 stars hotel. We got Superior room which got problem with broken window. Reception desc ladies could not relocate us on same floor. I spoke with manager, he said hotel does not have any handyman or technicians for fix it during a few next days. OMG. Finally I got a room on lowest floor. We parked our vehicle on parking lot of hotel. Reception desc claimed to remove our car, because they lobbied other client who wanted to park his car on our parking space. OMG. They should not provide any parking space in parking garage (it costs 15€ per day, we were ready to pay, but no chance). They said we should take care regarding our vehicle how we would like. No parking close to hotel, no street parking there as well. "Your car - your problem" - we got this answer in 4stars hotel like it was Radisson Blue in Baden-Baden. OMG! Finally we went to hotel restaurant. Food was amazing, but restaurant service was worst like I saw during 20 latest years in village's bars! We ordered 2 meat and 1 fish. Waiter brought 3 meat. I claimed it was wrong. He said Ok. He left wrong meat plate on our table and said it was his mistake. During a few minutes he shared third meat plate to our plates without our permission and brought fish plate. He said third meat plate was free like it was his mistake. He forgot bring large beers for us. But how we were surprised when we got 2 large beers and third meat plate in our check. OMG. We wrote by hand extra 10EUR to our check, because he brought 1 bottle of water which we did not ask as well. OMG! To many mistakes and you must pay for each! No excuses, just you should pay and that's all. We came to bar. I asked barman to give us 2 whiskey. No reaction! I asked more laud. No, we are waiting 10 minutes for his reply. My suggestion - good hotel, worst service. Or they need to change management and staff or avoid this hotel.
We stayed for 2 nights over New Year in this very beautiful, very grand hotel in a wonderful location. Our room was stylish & modern, a good size with a balcony (with a lovely view over the gardens), mini bar, coffee machine & an extremely comfy bed. The doorman gave us a very warm welcome & a good first impression of the hotel & the receptionist on check in & particularly on check out were fantastic. Whilst enjoying a coffee in the comfortable lounge area, we were fortunate enough to be treated to the fantastic sounds coming from a customer playing the hotel's piano. We did have a problem with the hotel's wifi & also with night time reception but the General Manager listened very carefully to our concerns, explained what the problems were & how he would deal with it & we were more than happy with his explanation & apologies, a genuinely lovely man who obviously cares about his customers & staff (a rare thing these days!!) My only tip would be to try & arrive as early as possible as the car park is quite small (& very tight!!), there was no available space when we arrived early afternoon which meant parking at the car park up the road which is more expensive (€60 for 2 days). Baden Baden is incredibly pretty, a wonderful place to explore & we can't wait to return again in April when we will definitely stay at this fabulous hotel again.
It's such a pity that a international hotel as Radisson, in a such good location has a really bad reception desk service. We didn't feel welcome, even if we stayed there for almost two weeks. The steam room had a bad smell, not normal. The wifi in the room was not good and the bathroom heater was not working (even if we informed the staff two times). The hotel has a good breakfast service staff and a friendly Italian speaking receptionist, but if you consider the mainly unfriendly reception desk service, bad wifi, stinky steam room, not heated bathroom, it really doesn't seems like a 4 stars hotel. Such a pity!
I've already stayed at the hotel a couple of years ago. Since 2014, they did some renovation on the rooms but there is still a lot to do. First of all, the heating system is not working properly. The internet is awful. The rooms after the renovation are nice. Comfortable beds (even if I don't understand why for a queen bed they use two singles), and very clean. The spa area definitely needs some renovation too. Some pieces of the pool tiles are loose and the sauna area is not so well maintained. The fitness room is ridiculous. They have a parking lot underneath the hotel. The young staff is very kind, can't say the same about the older staff found at the reception. It is a Radisson Blue, they should remember it and maintain the standards of the hotel chain. The price paid is quite high for the service received. As said, they are doing renovations...there is still a lot to do.
I have been staying at this hotel for close to 20 years. I returned this year after 2 years. I am gutted. Gone are the exquisite countertops in the bathrooms and the uniquely tiled floors, replaced by fake wood counters and porcelain tile. The rooms now have fake wood floors and boring, bland furniture. The City of Baden Baden should be ashamed to have allowed the destruction of a classic hotel. Radisson should be ashamed they didn't notice the beauty of the hotel before they demolished its charm. Surely the Radisson could have tried to (cared to) preserve some of the amazing historical and architectural beauty of this building. Yet another classic building been destroyed in the name of progress...or should I say cheapness? Was it cheaper to destroy than preserve? The lobby used to have a lovely art deco feel. Now it looks like it could be in any other North American hotel in any other North American city. It is sad when chain hotels take over a property and think that guests want it to look like every other hotel. The Wellness area used to be wonderful also. The thermal pool is still grand (PLEASE RADISSON...DON"T MESS WITH THIS FEATURE) But the steam room was not operating. I went in after 9pm. I told the front desk staff that it was not working and they exclaimed that no one else has complained all day. Perhaps implying that either a) no one else tried to use it, or b) no one bothered to check if it was operational...If you manage a hotel and you care about the facility you should be checking the facilities and notice for yourself that something isn't working...and you should have it fixed...there is no need to wait until a paying guest "COMPLAINS" that a facility they have paid for is not operational. ( this is the first time the steam room was not operating in 20 years) I am here for another night. If they have destroyed the dining room I will be writing more tomorrow . Management can probably figure out who I am if they care to contact me. And, for a 4 star hotel ( and I checked in before 4pm) to have no one working as a porter, was quite odd. Had to take the luggage myself. Now what you also need to know is that the Baden Baden Xmas market is great. It is different to other German Xmas markets. The food offered is wonderful.Dot bother with a sit-down dinner, eat there. And wander by the Lowenbrau restaurant...thousands of twinkling white lights and an outdoor gluhwein stand that is quite lovely. Stay somewhere else though.
