Travelled through Launceston and stayed at this property for 2 nights after having it recommend to me from friends. Great location, and within a 5-10 minute walk of heaps of restaurants, bars and shopping. The rooms were very quiet and pretty well kept for a somewhat older property. They are rebuilding/extending the bar/restaurant, but the staff are doing a good job in the current location. Food and wine were good and the continental for $16 was enough for me, with some great juices, fruits and the usual continental fare. I booked a few months on advance here and got a great rate... all tour companies pick up and drop off from here also. So make it really easy to see spits like cradle mountain. Will stay here again
We only stayed here for one night (in between cradle mountain and the airport). Nice, clean, friendly and efficient. The food smells coming from the restaurant/bar smelt dreamy!! Really good safe place to stay and definitely recommend. Thank you!
We recently stayed for 3 nights. The Sebel is a cosy and clean hotel in a great location. Parking was cheap ($8 a night) and easily accessible. The breakfast was a bit light but enough for me. Staff were friendly and helpful at suggesting local places to visit. The guest laundry was very welcome - it rained most of our Tassie stay!
Friendly comfortable clean , great lounge dining kitchen area even had a dishwasher ..also had washing machine and dryer so we managed to clean all our clothes as we have been travelling around, both bathrooms were amazingly clean and spa bath was awesome...beds were very comfortable and blackout blinds made afternoon nap very pleasant
We’ve stayed here before, and were pleased to see the rooms have been refurbished and are still comfortable and well equipped. We love having our own washer and dryer conveniently tucked into a cupboard in the bathroom. Also we love having a small kitchenette so we can make a quick breakfast or light snack whenever we want it. Just the thing for a holiday room if you were staying for a few days or a week whilst touring this area. Service at the front desk was helpful with plenty of local knowledge. In summary, a great place to stay and within a few minute’s drive of anything in Launceston.
We stayed there on 28th July. Large room with separate bedroom. Comfortable bed, Washing Machine and Dryer in the bathroom which was a bonus. Great kitchen space. I would have given it 5 stars but a charge of $8 for one nights parking when the Hotel was near empty, and we were not told that there was a fee for parking.
The Sebel Launceston is fairly centrally located in the little township of Launceston. It's within walking distance to pubs, the Boags Brewery and many restaurants / specialty shops. At the time we stayed (Sept '17) the hotel was going through a small refurbishment for the bar/restaurant, so it doesn't look cosmetically polished from the outside. It's a good standard hotel for a short stay. Pros: - room size is huge! we stayed in the Deluxe spa king suite. - Shower pressure is amazing - Spa bath - Mini bar - In room dining - WiFi is strong - Bed is so comfortable (firm and super king size) - Only a $1 credit card imprint for incidentals for the stay - 24 hr reception - Bathrobes Cons: - no fan in the bathroom or toilet, which was a bit of an issue (you can imagine why!) - I was surprised to have to pay for parking ($8 p/night which is reasonable but I just assumed free parking would be standard given the streets aren't particularly packed with traffic) - parking spaces are tiny so expect door bumps from the next car We're Accor Plus Members so we always try and stay in Accor hotels if possible whenever we travel. We love the little extras we receive for being members and this hotel was a lovely example of an Accor hotel.
Excellent room and service by staff. Staff helpful with arrival information and car parking on arrival. Restaurant dinner great quality and range of menu choices . Breakfast at restaurant excellent with plenty of options.
This place is great. The location is within walking distance to the main city. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Everyone I met from Bec who was on for the 3 nights we stayed at reception, Andrea the cleaner and Rose the morning Manager, a credit to the Sebel. The one bedroom had 2 singles as I had requested prior to arriving, (so soft and plush) a comfy lounge, TV,balcony, washing machine and dryer, modern bathroom. The food was top quality and gave value for money. We just had breakfast and dinner in room but was of a top standard. Thanks to the chef . Most definitely will come back.
Stayed for two nights Friday and Saturday staff where accommodating arrived right on 9pm made sure restaurant took dinner order. Room was huge at back of hotel but overlooked lane way and rubbish bins. Breakfast was a buffet included in room rate but the buffet was very sad hardly anything available both mornings. This includes one hot item off of menu which had plenty of choices however no additional items so if it came with one egg one it was. Together with one coffee or tea no facilities to help yourself. Thought this was a little stingy. Parking is available on site very small spaces extremely tight. Nice hotel good location but I think they could make a few simple changes to improve it. Sunday morning they had a computer failure could not process orders staff where highly stressed did not help the breakfast experience.
