Stayed one night with our dogs and friends. Cost very cheap for B&B, breakfast was quite good although bacon a little over cooked for my liking, baked beans added to the full English would be a great embellishment! Staff very friendly and welcoming, the room was adequate but rather small with two dogs and very noisy due to the secondary glazing not staying in place (we did report this on leaving). The double bed was very bouncy and we found it uncomfortable especially as we are used to a larger sleeping area. E.g. king size. The hotel is quirky in a charming way but as mentioned in an earlier review in need of some TLC, despite some negative comments we would stay again if a larger room was available, the restaurant food was good but also agree with previous comment the desserts are limited and rather expensive!
Spotted this on a Groupon deal and what brillient place . Located in the Worsley Estate village of Hovingham it does it proud. Spacious room over looking the village green. Clean comfortable accomodation. Good bar with open fire and cask ales served by friendly staff. The food is excellent quality with some inventive desserts. The Yorkshire breakfast is cooked to order, very tasty and provides a good start to the day! Tony our host was a really interesting person to talk to being a sommelier and had worked at one of our top hotels back home. Yorkshire hospitality at its best in a traditional hostelry. Must return.
Stayed at this hotel for two nights and had a wonderful time. Tony and Sally so welcoming and make time to talk to everyone. Lovely very clean accommodation and excellent food. Booked Dinner on the first night but had to return on the second night as had enjoyed the food so much. Really dog friendly which is a delight to find. Thank you both we would love to return.
Stayed at the Worsley Arms with my husband and met up with friends to stay two nights. Greeted with good Yorkshire friendliness. Our room ticked all the boxes inc large very comfortable bed. Spacious bathroom with good shower, along with toiletries. Tea/coffee making facilities a bonus and very welcome. Breakfast was cooked to order and was typical of good Yorkshire grub! Our men really enjoyed the full English! Other good choices as an option inc fruit. We chose to eat in both evenings and much easier than finding somewhere else in the middle of nowhere! The menu had good choices, although some not cheap. The food was fresh, cooked to perfection with good choice of vegetables. The ribeye steak to die for! Desserts we felt let them down. They were overpriced, bits of this and that and a little too master chef! Couldn’t actually taste the rhubarb because not enough of it. A decent rhubarb crumble would have hit the spot far better! Coffee was served in a lovely seating area. Several little cosy snugs with log fires to relax. All staff very friendly and professional. Nothing too much trouble. Definitely stay again if in the area. Thank you for a lovely comfortable stay.
Exemplary Service, spectacular food ,Exquisite wine and Log fires Galore! This hotel is situated in the most beautiful village of Hovingham which is a pristine peaceful location in the Howardian Hills. The Hotel is well presented and maintains the charm of a traditional English Country Hotel with Cosy Drawing rooms smartly furnished in comfortable upholstered chairs . The standard room we had was small but comfortable with a nicely refurbished en suite. If you are looking for contemporary this hotel might feel slightly dated but the staff are all welcoming ,completely professional and the level of customer service second to none. The restaurant is the absolute jewel in this hotels crown with an interesting menu and quality wines and the Maitre D /Manager was charming, knowledgable and engaging without being intrusive. The food was magnificent and we finished our meal with an interesting cheeseboard and small decanter of port on a sofa in front of a fire lit especially for us as the seats on the bar were all taken. One of the best dining experiences we have enjoyed and one we hope to repeat and would highly recommend.
Will Base This On What We Paid! 2 Nights B&B On A Groupon Coupon Deal,Worked Out At £19pppn. Fantastic Value. Lovely Late Georgian Stone Hotel, With High Ceilings,Large Walkways,Fan Windows ETC. Large Car Park. Very Polite & Helpful Staff. Room Had Bath & Shower Above.Nice Breakfast,Good Service.Nice Cosy Bar Area There Is A Touch Of Faded Grandeur, Car Park Surface A Bit Uneven,So Anyone A Little Unsteady Needs To Be Careful Not To Trip,A Little Flaking Paintwork & Some Areas,Window Frames & Similar Look As They Might Need A Bit Of Upkeep.Breakfast Though Good Was A Bit Greasy.Would Be Ok At Twice The Price We Paid In The Heart Of The Summer Season.
Stayed for two nights and was not disappointed! The welcome was warm and informative and took time in making sure any questions we had were answered. The food was delicious. Evening meal provided a good choice and breakfast was excellent. We have nothing but praise for the staff and we will return.
Spent two nights at worsley hotel we stared of with Mother's Day dinner which was Delis service was 1 class , our room Was adequate spacious an clean . Bathroom needs up dating but was clean an fluffy towels .breakfast was delicious and once again service was 1 st class lovely settings in dining hall .we had a lovely 2 days at worsley hotel an certainly would go back
This hotel has been known to his for a number of years but this was the first time we actually stayed there. We stayed on a two night bed and breakfast basis but also took lunch in the hotel. It is a quality dog friendly establishment and our accommodation was over the road in Kent Cottage. The room was spacious, well fitted, comfortable and clean. The bathroom had both bath and shower with ample hot water. Food at the Worsley Arms is of good quality and pleasantly served. There are seating areas for those who do not wish to use the small bar which was our preferred choice. Fellow guests were interesting and friendly and our two day visit was a totally enjoyable experience.
My partner and I spent 2 nights at this hotel. It is a a lovely small hotel in a beautiful, stone-built Yorkshire village. The location is good for those wanting to explore N Yorkshire. (We drove across to Robin Hood's Bay and Whitby.) We had opted for the cheapest room which was small but adequate and it had a good en suite. I have to say our room was not warm but I think this was due to the exceptionally cold weather. There was an electric heather which we used to counteract the cold air coming through the single-glazed window. The hotel has a number of small informal lounges which is far nicer than one big lounge. There was an open fire in one of the cosy lounges and another open fire in the bar. So there were many places to sit and have a coffee or a drink or just curl up with a book. There are two dining rooms: an informal one near the bar and a formal one. Both nights we ate in the informal dining room. The food was excellent. Breakfast is served in the formal dining-room. A good selection of food and very tasty. The serving staff at breakfast and dinner could not have been more helpful. I would certainly recommend this hotel and we look forward to returning to the Worsley Arms in the future.
