We had a quick overnight stay and everything was lovely. Food was amazing and the staff were so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We also took our little dog and she was made very welcome. Would definitely go again.
Sadly we only had 2 days at the Worsley, but wished it was more. We had a cottage room with our dog, which was perfect for us. The room was big, large bathroom and kingsize double bed. The bed was super comfy. As we were on a B & B basis we had breakfast over at the main hotel. The service was good and friendly, the food was delicious. You could tell that the ingredients were of excellent quality. We also ate at the hotel both nights, and really enjoyed the food. Tony and Sally and their staff go out of their way to make sure you are happy. In fact all the Yorkshire folk we encountered were super friendly. All of the guests we spoke to had been there before, which speaks volumes. The hotel is located in a very pretty village, and is very convenient for many local attractions. We drove through the Moors, which truly wowed us. We also visited Robin Hood's bay which is very pretty, but very crowded in school holidays. Two very relaxing days spent in Yorkshire - we will be back for more!
We stayed here as part of a walking holiday . We had stayed prior to this at the pheasant inn and were really disappointed when we arrived . The hotel Is dated and the rooms and amenities were in real need of a make over . In saying that the food was gastro grub food and it was delicious. We also couldn't fault the staff who were extremely friendly but looked a bit over run as they had a wedding on at the same time . I would recommend the food but would have stayed somewhere different .
Enjoyed a small wedding reception here. The food was amazing – albeit very rich in flavour. The canapés were nice. The evening was well organised. We received free drinks upon arrival. There was a bouncy castle in the garden which the children loved. An ideal venue for a country wedding theme.
My name is DJ Lynne and we were booked to DJ for a wedding at the Worsley Arms last Saturday. The manager Tony was extremely helpful and kept us informed as to the events as they were happening. The staff were also very friendly & helpful it was a pleasure to entertain there.
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Our room was comfortable with a large en suite. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant and had some memorable meals. So much so, before we left, we booked to return for a further 4 nights later in the year.
We visited this establishment as my birthday treat from my wife. The location is beautiful but the hotel is sited on a busy road which makes the garden a rural version of a motorway services. The accommodation is split between the main building and a cottage that is across the road, where our room was located. Despite secondary double glazing it was noisy and the decor was a little tired. With 2 Rosettes and good reviews we were looking forward to a really good meal, sadly this was not the case as they were either unable or not willing to cook the meat as requested. So we left and drove to a nearby Indian restaurant as the only alternative at that time of the evening. Overall, we found the service slow at best and would be interested to know which raffle they won the Rosettes from.
Travelzoo deal that was well worth it. Tea and cakes on arrival which was late due to inclement weather!! The rain was torrential and there were flash floods that blocked our road through. The property in early nineteenth century and this must be taken into account. We had a lovely room with a tight bathroom at the back of the hotel. Able to see swallows flying about from our window. The bed was one of the most comfy I had ever slept in. The breakfasts were great and we were attended to by most pleasant staff. The village is lovely and, being townies, was a haven in itself. Great base for seeing not just York but North Yorkshire. Try to use the roads when it doesn't rain heavily!!
We spent a couple of nights at this hotel and i must say it was a delight lovely relaxed atmosphere very friendly staff especially peter who ran the bar a character the food was excellent and we shall definitely be going back the hosts tony and sally were extremely welcoming
Stayed here for 1 night and couldn't really fault anything. Very comfortable room and excellent food in the evening and breakfast. Dog friendly and you can eat with your dog in the bar area if you want to. Large car park and various rooms or outside in the grounds that you can relax in and have a drink or snack. Manager and staff were extremely friendly and helpful and we would definitely stay here again....
