24th Anniversary

We loved staying in this home it was clean and had everything we needed! It’s was our 24th anniversary and my 2nd time staying in the house. We loved the closeness of the ocean and the convenience of all the eateries and shopping. We would definitely stay again.

Family Beach Trip

After getting the correct lockbox code...we had a wonderful time. The beds are very comfortable, house is clean, and the easiest beach access ever!!

Great Location

The house was very clean and provided all the conveniences of home. Bed was very comfortable. Location was very close to the beach. Just a few minor things that need repairs. Overall we had a very pleasant stay.

We loved this little place! So close to the beach! We were so grateful that the air conditioner...

We loved this little place! So close to the beach! We were so grateful that the air conditioner was on when we arrived! :) Loved the outdoor shower, and the beds were comfortable. It was so nice to enjoy the renovated bathroom! It was so quaint and had absolutely every we could need/want (including a great selection of games and dvds!) We will definitely be back!!

Great location.

Little house between 2-3 story million dollar beach homes. Just like the little house in "Away" that the old cartoon character refused to sell, so he tied balloons to his house and flew away. Hope they don't let this little house "fly away."

Close to the Beach but Older & Had some Smells

The Ocean Gem was overall an okay place to stay while we were in North Myrtle Beach. It's older for sure, but still cozy. There was some strange smells in specific corners of the house, and you can tell previous guests have not seemed to respect the pet-friendliness of the location. It's an older house that is pet friendly, and it smells of both, but once you become nose-blind to it it's a fine place to sleep. Overall could be a little cheaper for the state the house is in, but it is an individual house for rent with the beach across the street, so it's probably the cheapest you're going to find in that regard, just keep that in mind.

Review

The house was adorable but needs a deep cleaning. The floors looked as if they have not had a deep cleaning in months. The furniture was very dirty. I had to clean the table between the two small sofas because it was black around the edges. Overall this could be an AWESOME place but needs some updates and TLC. I love the history of the house and the wood but, again, it needs a deep cleaning, updated furniture, etc.

Close to the beach

Great location. 2 beds accommodates family. Pets allowed which was a plus for us. New shower recently installed. Old beach cottage…recommend taking a couple of plug in air fresheners. Smelled like an unused house that sat for a while. Take a Firestick. WiFi is good but cable went in and out during our stay. Management responds but it takes a while.

Wonderful Vacation!

This home was delightful! Just the right size for me and my husband. It had everything we needed for our week-long vacation. VERY close to the beach! We stayed in late November, which is the off-season for tourists. A bit chilly, but it was worth it to avoid crowds. This home was perfectly located for short day trips - or just being lazy! We hope to be able to stay there again...maybe annually!

We really enjoyed our stay in the Ocean. We had a sisters getaway and the house was perfect, it was the right location for us safety for our Mother as far as No climbing of steps and getting in and out of elevator or climbing over the side of tub to take a shower. We loved the cooking of our breakfast and setting on the rocking chairs on spacious front porch. It was perfect the only thing missing was for it to have had a swing.

Perfect for pets

The house was clean, a/c and tv worked well. It was lovely to sit on the front porch and really is a two minute walk to the beach. Neighborhood was quiet and pretty...you could see the ocean from the front yard. We hope to come back for a longer stay next June!
