When I first arrived I was checking in with the host. I asked for a receipt since I needed proof of payment and cash deposit but it seemed like such an inconvenience for the host. He said he was new and didn’t know how so I asked him to contact or ask someone to show him since it was necessary I got a receipt. The whole time he was rolling his eyes and seemed very impatient even though I was the only person checking in. Once I got that I went to my room #128 the room had a stale smell so I put in a car freshener in hopes it would help… I moved the night stand on my side of the bed to plug in my charger and there was garbage… a napkin and straw. After a while my room started getting really cold even though I had the heat on! Turns out my window was leaking soooo much cold air into the room so I tucked the curtain around it to try to keep it warm in the room. The next night I went to take a bath and have a coffee but they only gave us 1 coffee for a 3 night stay and there was no bath plug for the drain so I went to the front desk and again I felt like I was causing a huge inconvenience. The host was rolling his eyes and almost trying to avoid finding me what I needed which should have already been in the room. I’ve stayed here many times I usually don’t have this many issues. Usually the host is more than willing to help but I believe at this point the host was annoyed…. I checked in December 31st and left January 3rd. I hope if I return my next visit will be more pleasant.

The room and bed were very comfortable. I wanted to have a bath and there was no plug for the bathtub which was slightly disappointing. One thing I noticed is that the hot water is REALLY hot-I burned my hand when I was adjusting the temperature for the shower-wasn't expecting it to be that hot. The hotel was quiet but I could hear the guests in the next room. I was wondering why they would put someone in the room directly beside mine when the hotel had barely any people there-the parking lot was empty except for few vehicles. The gentleman at reception could have been a bit nicer-he wasn't rude but not overly friendly. Overall my stay was good and the rate was very reasonable. That's one of the reasons that I chose that hotel. I knew that the Travelodge was a decent hotel and the rate was far better than most of the hotels in North Bay for that date.
