The property is more like a badly run B&B than the 4* hotel it claims to be.
Badly run parking - I had paid for a space, at no point in my stay did my registration plate get taken, I told them the number of the parking bay I’d parked in on check in, I was told it was not the space they had allocated me, they saw my space was being used and said I’d have to move when the car did, but it remained busy my whole stay. Two staff had an argument about which space I should use later that evening.
The bedroom was supposed to be a premium sea view balcony room. It was tiny, decorated with very cheap, tacky furniture and dirty carpets. The windows were so dirty you couldn’t see clearly out of them. There was no hair dryer provided, I had to ask. Only shower gel and conditioner provided but no shampoo.
I used the kettle once. The lid didn’t attach properly, the kettle didn’t switch itself off and kept boiling and when I poured it, I almost scalded my thumb from the steam coming through the badly fitting lid.
The wash basin and tap were the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen in a hotel bathroom and difficult to know if it was hot or cold.
There was a very low hanging light fitting, meant for very high ceilings or stairwells, by the door to the balcony. The light shades were heavy glass and it was impossible to walk past without banging them, they were head height for a child and could cause a nasty injury if they walked into it.
The only positive was the central location.
