We had a great stay overall. The place was very clean, comfortable, and had a wonderful view. One fun surprise was a nostalgic Pac-Man arcade game that wasn't listed in the amenities—it was a nice touch and brought back a lot of memories. There was also an Xbox available for guests to use, which would be great for anyone traveling with kids or who enjoys gaming.The host was very helpful and gave us a recommendation for a nearby pizza place, Embers by the Lake, which was absolutely amazing and ended up being one of our favorite meals during the trip.The only challenge we ran into involved fishing and boat rentals. Since the property is directly across from Silverbeard's Marina, we assumed it would be easy to rent a boat or kayak. We had contacted the marina owner beforehand and were told they might have something available, but when we arrived, the employee on site wasn't aware of any arrangements, and we didn't hear back from the owner until the day we were leaving. We later learned that other companies can deliver boats to the lake, but that information wasn't easy to find. We also didn't realize Newman Lake was a bit more exclusive when it comes to public access and rentals. If fishing or boating is a big part of your trip, I'd recommend doing some extra research and making firm arrangements ahead of time.That said, the property itself was wonderful, the views were beautiful, and we really enjoyed our stay. We'd happily stay here again.
